  • The Polaris RZR RS1 arrived in the market nearly a year ago to bring extreme performance to the single-seat UTV category. The RS1 sits on a specialized chassis yet borrows driveline components from the RZR XP 1000 and RZR XP Turbo SXS models.

Rated at 110-HP thanks to the 999cc twin-cylinder power unit out of the RZR XP 1000, the RS1 puts down over 40% more power than its closest rival, the Polaris ACE 900 XC. Polaris has made some tweaks to the normal SXS packaging to accommodate the unique demands of a high-performance single-seater, and developed a new and upgraded cooling system featuring a rear-mounted, high-capacity radiator with dual cooling fans and improved heat shielding materials with improved coverage.
To make sure power is effectively put to the ground, Polaris employs a RZR XP Turbo-based transmission and final drive. RS1's transmission is a full gear-on-gear setup without a reverse chain. The PVT housing is the same found on the XP-T and the clutches are a direct pull from the XP-T, but with RS1-specific calibrations. A new isolated front differential puts power to all four wheels with Polaris' high-performance AWD system. This new differential also serves on the RZR XP Turbo S models and offers higher impact strength, reduced vibration and improved cooling when compared to standard RZR XP units.
The RS1 chassis sports a number of unique components including a bespoke front arm design, quick-ratio steering box, and the trailing arm assembly from the RZR XP 1000. Under the "frunk," the RS1 provides storage and easy access to the fuse block. The RS1 introduces the Pulse electrical system from the Ranger XP 1000 and General 1000, which allows for plug-n-play install of compatible electrical accessories.
On the outside, the RS1 brings a fresh look with unmistakable RZR DNA. High-mount intakes blend into the B-pillars and roof. The rear fenders provide ample coverage, but with easy tool-free access for maintenance and cleaning.
Lastly, the interior of the RS1 provides a racecar cockpit feel with controls pulled back to the driver. Switches are collectively located to the driver's right side with plenty of space to add auxiliary lighting and systems switch-gear. Even the foot controls show off the RS1's performance prowess. The new dual brake pedal allows for easy left foot braking for improved vehicle control.

Well done video sir, Polaris has come a LONG way since 2008, when air filters were manufactured tucked inside of the engine compartment. I was a victim if that debacle.
The snorkel system above the occupants is a GRAND idea. In so many ways, I miss my 2008, it was only 50” I’m guessing this 2019 unit is 64”. With a heavy driver such as myself, I believe this unit would be ideal for my fun factor. I live very Close the the Great Mojave Desert here in California.
    Cheers! Gary

Looks awesome....but can it plow snow?

Similar to the rest of the RZR XP line-up, Polaris does not recommend plowing. We have not seen any third-party plow kits for the RS1, yet.

My 85 Fl 350 Odyssey would RUN circles around this overpriced POS And it doesn’t look like a Goofy Golf Kart that has a roll cage

@@josebarajas1888 And jose. That’s not my first choice for off road. My son enjoys driving Zombie Kart more than riding my second 85 ATC250R. I am lucky enough to own 2 85 ATC250Rs. I prefer my over 50 HP 85 ATC250R over the Kart. But that Kart will plaster a smile on your face you can’t remove. Can’t say that about a Golf Cart with roll cage. And I should know I used to live on Catalina Island where golf carts are King.
