It’s nice to see you! Your project turned out beautifully! Thanks for sharing the wet sanding technique! My end goal is to flip furniture but I have been so nervous with my first piece that I haven’t done any crafting… I’ve been refinishing a little side table. You know I’m a nervous Nancy, right? It almost feels like I’m asking permission to take the next step. LOL I’m waiting for the paint color to come in the mail. I got some great experience with it! Everything from stripping, sanding, wood filler and wood glue. I wanted to stain the top and the little drawer but I don’t think it’s going to get any cleaner. I reached out to a couple of people for advice but they aren’t on, yet. Most likely I’m going to end up painting the whole thing and I’m okay with that. I so enjoy your work and I’ve learned a ton from you! Sorry this got so long! 😳😆 Enjoy your day ☀️
You sound just like me....I am almost afraid to try the first step. So, I have some pieces here, a side table, a stool, and I am going to practice with them. I want to do some serious furniture flipping, with clay and decoupage and all of that, and the only one who is stopping me....is me. I am a perfectionist is the problem, and I see every tiny mistake, that no one else would notice, but me. I hate this about myself. It is horrible because it stunts my creativity. I know once I start, i will be okay, it is just that first step.
This is a great technique that I'm going to have to try. My problem is everytime I sand and then put on wax I see the scratches from the sandpaper. Maybe this way I wouldn't see those scratches. Thanks for sharing ❤️
What the heck!! How did I miss that... My sister is a teacher and always catches these for me 🤪 I’ll fix it up and change my graphic... thanks for pointing that out ❤️
Thank you for sharing this tip! What can you use if you don't have packing paper? I bought a couple cupboards from Restore. I have only spray painted but I want to paint the others with chalk paint
Hi Deidre! My name is Sandy. I am new to this and liked your video. I want to make a couple of things for a fundraiser for pets. I have 2 wooden trays and I was going to add some pet themed oven mitts and towels. I want to try your technique. First question can you make your second or third coat a lighter color so it looks distressed with 2 colors and can I finish it with something so if they want to use the tray for food or should I put a note in there do not use to serve food? Sorry soooo long!!
I’m painting raw wood and I primed it first. If I use cream chalk paint what do I use to distress it when there is only white primer under the chalk paint

@@OurUpcycledLife thanks you for answering i am indonesian live in bali like your videos.
Oh ya, the finishing was needed top coat?
Do you think you could do this with the orbital sander?
Yes
Do you put brush in the water each time you get the new paint?
Yes
I’m painting raw wood and I primed it first. If I use cream chalk paint what do I use to distress it when there is only white primer under the chalk paint
I use different colour underneath so you get that pop of colour
Nice pointers for a smoother chalk paint finish. Don't you need to put a finish coat (like wax) on so the chalk paint doesn't chip away?
I use polycrylic sealer
Will this work on glass plates?
Yes, it will just make sure to prime your glass before you put the chalk paint on so it will adhere better
How do you get the reversed font?
