I was thinking of buying this once. But I instead later bought the Fortuna Copper Mule model of the same pen with a medium nib. It is a superb pen and writes splendidly. Mine cost $325. Steep price but worth it. I love all my Montegrappa pens.
I sent my Fortuna Marrakech back to Montegrappa to fix a catalogue of warranty issues. I got it back yesterday and found they'd replaced the entire pen. The nib is completely difference from the original nib I purchased, which was dry and very toothy. The new nib is still marked 'B', but instead of being extremely toothy, it's glassy smooth, if entirely the wrong width for a broad.
Dear Dr. Brown. Another excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to share your expert knowledge and thoughts. I really like the ink poster shown in your video. Do you know where I can purchase a copy? Thank you.
My Mule was tough to write with from the start, I tried adjusting it myself, but it's a disappointment for a not inexpensive pen. I wonder if Montegrappa have nib issues generally?
I just bough a Montegrappa Fortuna copper Mule from eBay and frankly this steel medium nib is so impressive. Super smooth. I can easily compare that nib with other 18k Visconti nib. Impressive
@@JosBranch …I completely agree. My own Fortuna Copper Mule has an M nib that writes sublimely every time. One of the best steel nibs I’ve used so far.

I'm afraid you can't: this was a promotional poster given to me by P.W. Akkerman in The Hague
What ink did you use?
my friend bought a vfm, but he says it doesn't fit the standard sheaffer cartridges, what should he do? Oh, and great review.
This pen takes standard international cartridges.
Thanks, your the best.
Nice pen love the finish but it is a bit spendy Thanks Dr Brown

Kind of a sad state of affairs when the best writing experience you have from a major brand is "well, it actually writes".
Expensive pens reaaaaaally shouldn't have such poor quality control :/
