  • Privacy by Design is a commonly referenced approach to privacy that tries to incorporate privacy in the early stages of system and application development, rather than trying to “bolt on” privacy controls after a system is already in place.
    We’re starting to see Privacy By Design questions make their way onto certification exams. The most recent version of the CISSP exam objectives now includes Privacy by Design as a specific tested item and we’re likely to see it appear on other exams down the road.

    Mnemonic = PDF-SE-VR
    P= proactive not reaactive , prevent not remind
    D= Default setting
    F= Fully integrated
    S= Positive Sum not Zero Sum
    E= End to End protection of privacy
    V= Visiblitiy and transperency
    R= Respect for user privacy

    Feedback on the practice question: the users already opted in. Therefore that answer is plausibly the wrong answer. Based on psychology of the exam, they apparently try to trick you up with options like that.
