Its not really that minor. You get a pretty hefty dmg boost. 38% from chefasuar and 20% from bear meat is nothing to scoff at. For instance, normally whimsical drink gives 25% status dmg boost. With Max chefasuar and bear meat it gives 44.5% Thats almost double the standard effect. This can also be added to things like Saftey sandwhich, so instead of 20% dmg reduction you get 32% dmg reduction.
if you press shift while hovering over an untamed animal in your inventory, it will show you their traits. u can also check it if they're on your territory by pressing F over their traits.
i went from wanting an army of s rank crocs to defend my base to just thinking they're emergency rations. Wish they'd let you butcher them while the animals are in your inventory that way you can chop up all the c ranks you get. I'm tired of feeding them
if you build your base with water access, the animals will auto hydrate! you can speed up the taming for bears by feeding them smaller fish like "carp" for 5% energy/1% tamed.
Haven't finished watching the video yet, but they did just announce breeding in 1.2. Not sure how that's going to work so it might be worth saving your S Tier Animals for the time being if the rating passes down.
The difference between favorite food and the pellet bags is the pellet bags last longer but tame slower. From my testing 1 favorite food = 1 tameness. I forget the exact number for pellets but ik it isnt 1 to 1 and it fills the hunger more so its much slower. So ideally while you're on you should use favorite food then when u log off for the night use pellet bags. Or starve the animals while u log off then spam feed favorite food when u get back on.
Before I gave up on taming I found the easiest food to get for Bears and Boars was apples. There are a few teleporters that have 3 or 4 apple trees close by, depending on your server (10 or 15 worlds) that could be 120 apples just by flipping worlds, then just more to the next teleporter and start again.
sound like long time pelets is best near water meat you get from killer rabbit i log in ones every 24 hours on my alts to max them diffrent accounts ofc and you my wonder why because i have 15+ years in games like this and it´s easy to get cd ore banned and when they did this 6week thing i knew this can really distroy you´r exp bc the game is like a alpha still in many ways so people are trying mix match every thing and some of this is consider exploting and you can get a cd ore ban then you always have back ups you own your´self no need to buy accounts and you lvl 1-50 in 10 hours tops atm with some help all should have a backup i mean every week is only one day and you almost max starcrome and resources on the alts on the main you have to much if you´r semi active you stilll have time for the 5 kids job/school and taking care of the harem and their neads hehe
So you spend god know how many ressources to get a S grade animal, so many hours to tame and making it docile just to kill it for 5 meat the end oh GOD please that's terrible
I was thinking exactly the same thing!! This was more of a cooking tutorial then a taming guide. Is the only reason to tame something just to kill it for meat?? All of those supplies to make the tranquilizers, to damage the animals, to feed & water them until they're tamed, plus the time it takes to do all of this is insane. It would be cool if once tamed to 100% you could at least let them roam your home territory and act as base defense and extra defense when using your resonator. One thing that I am excited for is the rare colours that they recently mentioned and being able to breed that colour down to offspring, different patterns would be cool to add, making the odds of getting a pattern in a certain colour even more rare, or breeding a pattern with a colour to try and combine the two!!

Feeding favourite foods increases taming speed significantly eg. rabbits eating saffron = gain 1% tameness for each 5% energy gained so a hungry rabbit will gain 20 tameness from 0 energy to 100 if fed saffron and likewise for other animals with their favourites (Baracuda/Salmon for bears). The feeds made at the workbench are best for long term upkeep of animals once tamed or if you just want to go the slow hard way to 50 tameness xD
I have a couple S-Bears and Leopards. I'm hoping that Once Human expands on the taming/breeding side of the game and let us use tames as an alternative for combat deviations. It's a shame that my bears have 137k health each and I can't use them as tanks. Edit: Also wanted them to merge vehicle and taming aspects for riding horses, war elephants, etc.
The only pristine meat buff I care about is the crocodile and the goat ones. Crocodile for a massive pollution resist buff and goat for the very sweet HP regen (when out of combat). Couple that with sanity regeneration (both in and out of combat), from the plant you that gives it when you make something like the Whimsical drink (for status damage buff) and you're topped up for the hardest content/areas. Otherwise, it's just too much of a hassle. Do note that breeding is finally coming, so thankfully this will likely be able to be automated. There's also distinct looks the animals can have (that they can pass off to their offspring), so heh... Edit: If cheese was more valuable/hard to come by, maybe milk production would be nice too, but otherwise eh The fact that most of this food spoils is also incredibly sucky.
Thank you for showing us what 0.1 % of players might do. Its a lot of work and with great build if I hit 1.5 mil now I will end up at 2.5m + hp + whatever else I am getting there but I already kill solo pro everything in the game with easy to get normal food + some beer for sanity. Maybe I make the 15% food for boss kill if I want to be really fancy that day :) TY gl !! Killed 300 sheep/ewe/ram and found 2 golden wool :( horrible odds. Tried with knives … than with arrows and now only with food that stuns all animal ever 5secods. Still horrible experience...
Look... As much as I like how they keep implement new contents. I think I really want them to fix the lag more than anything. And no.. advertising third party software to help with the lag is not gonna help you need to fix it yourself. Performance and latency need to be their priority if they want more players. A hopeless wish but it's still worth wishing.
I think they should provide a global buff if they live at your base. It takes days to tame an animal if you are a casual player and seems so pointless.

pristine bear/pork (pigs probably easier to tame ig) meat is really nice, but losing the buff on death practically makes it dead content tbh. didn't know you could use canned meat for the food buff stacking though and then just overwrite the main buff with another main buff.

So kill something you spend time Taming. I think it should boost your hunting, and the Lethal Rabbit if you ask me. What about the other buffs do you have to equip or are the + stamina and such just at base? Or do you have to slaughter them?
Seems like too much work for better buffs. Maybe incoming Patch 1.2 with breeding will help. Would love to bring along a few tamed S Tier Leopards to help me fight in silos / bosses but they are stuck to your Territory sadly.

It’s a waste of time. You are constantly feeding the thing and dont really get any use from them. If they were companions that would fight, that would be cool. Now, they are just more grindy work. They better learn that if all you do is grind, people will leave. We need content…. 5 bosses and 5 solos week after week after week… getting old fast.

only 1 stamina, 1 hp, eating pristine boar will replace pristine bear and vice versa. it's impossible to have 50k hp, it comes from cradle, weapon dmg reduce, mini wonder deviation and it's level, and savior armor set.

Also they need to make a world shop instead of vending machine. Too much pve and by the time you pvp, it depletes so fast. The game is nice but seems like theyre incentivizing people to go hardcore if you want to min/max. Im about to start buying the buff instead of farming it myself 😆

you cant stack 2 stamina pristine buffs, max is 1 of each type. pristine, bear, goat, rabbit. or pristine bear,goat, deer. eating rabbit will replace deer you can eat any stamina food buff and any buff you want, as long as u dont replace the pristine rabbit with pristine deer. you can all fish buffs too.
So... taming is virtually useless in PVE as you're going to be almost always running Crumbly Bread as your food buff. All this work to stack a steak combo isn't worth the extreme amount of maintenance needed to keep feeding these things to raise tameness. I was refilling troughs twice a day since food spoils so fast in the troughs. And after all that, pan-fried sea bass ends up being better anyway.
pristine stacks, you can eat and get stamina buffs and hp buffs and eat the bread after, but yes since it doesn't give much benefit for pve, in pve it's useless.

If you use the jeep when you are farming animals you can fit 12 animals in your trunk.

When you give them their favorite food the tamness increases one percent each time they need to eat.

What happens when you do a purification with beats, do they take damage from mobs and could potentially die?

When it comes to pollution buffs I just suck down ale or beer and ignore it for 30 minutes.
You can check the traits by pressing shift when animals are in your bag even if its still locked.

Pellets ae good while away. Everything else will spoil but pellets last longer.
2 type S gives an S type offspring. Each pair can breed up to 7 times.
