I am watching this six days late. Since this video aired, there have been thousands of lay offs. I believe the unemployment part of the recession picture is on it's way.

I share Jason's concern about the "top-heaviness" of the S&P 500. So, because of that; for the first time in MANY years..I have recently diversified into about 40% non-U.S. equities. And, I'm just going to "hide-out" in this allocation, until the magnificent-seven, becomes a little less magnificent..which I think is inevitable. I'm not young..and I still vividly remember the similar headiness in tech-stocks circa 1999...and the decade of PAIN, which followed. This is beginning to feel disconcertingly similar, to that era.

You might feel dumb after US equities continue to soar for the next many years. By just about every valuation metric, you probably should have done this reallocation to ex-US stocks years ago. But then you'd feel extra dumb today. Investing is all about feeling dumb now, or dumb later. You get to pick.

Better safe in Bonds ....too much risk in over valued market . High quality investment grade bonds at 5.5% or better probably gonna be hard to beat.

Bonds were really safe in 2022.

Perhaps, considering your financial situation and time horizon. In the long run owners of capital do better than lenders of capital.

@@Mantraflip capital market is many times larger than the stock market. Reason for that is the securities do much better than stocks over time. Plus with investment grades you see a return of the money.
Stocks can definitely decline or bankruptcy can kill the asset. Bonds are protected in bankruptcy if they have insurance or first lien protection. Stock have zero. Rather have my assets in a protected secure venue.
