nice to see a review so early after release. I was wondering how the electronic shutter works in conjunction with the leaf shutter. I see on the top plate the shutter dial goes to 1/2000 which I assume is the fastest the leaf shutter will go. If you are shooting in Aperture priority outdoors at f1.7 does the electronic shutter automatically take over beyond 1/2000 ?
matt jones Yes 1/2000s is the fastest speed for the leaf shutter, but the camera switch automatically to the electronic shutter beyond 1/2000s if needed. Je pense qu'il est toujours valable aujourd'hui, je n'ai aucune idée de quand Leica pourrait annoncer un Q2, peut etre à Photokina en Septembre.

Hello, my main equipment is Canon (5D Mark III) and photograph only as a hobby.Would I like a smaller camera for everyday and travel use. Can I buy a X100T this year or wait a year (or two) and buy a Leica Q. I would help to decide;)
Certainly you can. You might even find that the x100t is more than enough as a travel camera ;)
I like that the LCD and buttons are flush with the body.
Very nice review, I like 35 & 50 mm "cropped" samples very much.

where do you buy Leica Q ?? are there any discounts. I got an offer for 4000 EURO. that is simply not going to happen.
+procekim 4000€ is about right for the price. Maybe wait for a second hand model.

I did research and I would get 3% discount from Leica store. I called authorised reseller he offered 10% discount. I called the same reseller 2 days later and said I would like to sell the Leica q and he offered 1300 euro.
I do not know if the camera hold even any value. So Im kind of lost, it seems I do not get any service anyway, So what do I pay for? Anyone has some experience info??

Only thing i don't like is the lens. how it bends, but this can be fixed in LR. The music in the background is so damn annoying!!!
hazesus I am curious, what is so annoying with the music in the background? You're not the first making such a comment. I have been working in the audiovisual for the past ten years and always had music in the videos I produced/directed/edited.
That particular track in the background takes away from focusing on what your saying. Is so annoying i can still hear it in my head, Is good that you have years of experience, now ad another notch when people critic. still a good video is just that song. i mean at the intro was okay but it looped through out the whole video. But hey is your video. am just pointing out like the other person did what we didn't like and hope it helps.
