Nice Plane!! I few many pattern tournaments in CA in the late 80's and early 90's. All my planes had re-tracks and were tail draggers. The one I flew most was the Aroura. Damn fun days!!
@@Snuggfit4u Hi Paul, I recently bought a brand new in box 40 years old OS 61VF. Had the choice between Magic and Arrow shortkit but went for the Arrow as I had one and engine mount is radier. Maybe Magic in a second time.
Almost 100% identical to the Curare'.... awesome plane(s)... only difference is Magic 60 is more like the very old school Curare' 60 that had more of a chin/air intake scoop (cougar like appearance) under the nose as the modern Shweighofer design Curare' sharply cuts off below and behind nose (more bird like appearance) sharper nose...... both may have the reverse leading edge/flaps that open like < into the wind.... super killer planes... didn't know there was anything but the Curare"... is 99% the same.. would love to own both if available in ARF. My favorite part is the anhedral tail is the coolest part of the plane.......Thanks for the informative video my friend.
Kenny, the Magic has thinner wing and tail airfoils than the Curare to reduce drag so more engine thrust will be avaliable for demanding aerobatics. The wing area is also higher to compensate for the increasing weight of engine with variable pitch propeller and also lowering the wing loading to achieve a slower realistic flight. The Fuselage was designed as an airfoil with its maximun thickness (6.5%) at the CG location to improve knife edge and rolling maneouvers. The engine was buried in the fuselage to reduce drag. The wing Dihedral was increased to restore the stability loosed with the rise of the fuselage centerline due to the buried tunned pipe.
I had the privilege of flying both the Curare and the Magic in pattern competition. Curare in '90-91 and Magic in '92-93. I fell in love with the anhedral stab look. Loved both of them. I still have my Magic hanging in my basement rafters.

Hello Andro. I'm using a Novarossi R61F Speed 13 engine, with a 9mm venturi carburator with in-flight mixture control. I built my own header because Novarossi doesen't have one with an offsett of 3 inches betwen centers of its cross-sectional area. I will recomed you to use Novarossi 40402 Header and modify the internal fuselage structure as required. Note: the 40402 header doesn't have the 3 inches offsett between centers as advertised, it was delivered to me with 2.6 inches offsett twice. I´m using Novarossi Rex 50400 tunned Pipe. This is a 60/90 muffled tunned pipe.

Kenny, not same as Curare. Similar but very different. Get your facts right before talking. I have both models and still fly them.
