Glad you both are okay and thank you for documenting your adventure. As a native Floridian who has been through tropical storms and hurricanes, it's never fun to go through them but they sure are a learning experience for everyone. So glad you all are okay.
Glad you guys weathered the storm ok, and thanks for the great footage! I live in Texas where rain and winds like this (and much worse) are par for the course, but I've also lived in California and know that this sort of weather is definitely NOT on the menu very often! Happy to see the sun is out.
Glad it was not what we were expecting. I did see you yesterday driving around. the tree falling over. Thanks for sharing. So glad all is well and no real damage was done x The water in your backyard was a lot. That happens here too when the rain falls faster than it drains off. Lots of water!, Maybe the desert will enjoy that water. x
Jesus Christ California has excellent drainage. I used to work for OCSD. Funny how Californians get a little bit of rain and they get scared and the end of the world is coming. I lived many years in the inland empire but finally made my escape to the Midwest.,,. I can tell you rain, and wind is something else here and will never compare to California so called “hurricane “😂. Newsom might need to call a state of emergency 🤦🏻♂️
Really interesting to see! We are used to hurricanes here in Houston. I never realized how Palm Springs was built in terms of not having sewers, etc. Thanks for the video!
We were in Palm Springs just Friday (8/18) before the Sunday storm and what a freaky difference. Fri it was sunny, clear, 107 and no wind- and then.. this happened. It was nuts up here in the High Desert (Phelan/Hesperia/Victorville off the 15) too. No flooding, but 30 mph wind and buckets of rain. Our roof took a bit of a beating. Then today (Mon 8/21) all sunny, calm and tra-la-la like nothing happened.
My friend in cathedral City lost power Sunday at 1:30 and was supposed to come back on to😅 around noon. My other friend up in DHS in the county club area was fine
It is interesting to think that those swollen washes and rushing streams are just water that condensed out of the atmosphere in a relatively short time period. Our planet is amazing. I love Palm Springs.
Thank God you are both Okay, i hate bad rain storms with the wind 🍃, csuses alot of damage, but the news media does blow up stories , thats their job , STAY SAFE , ❤
I'm inviting the two of you to visit me in Florida. It has to be during a hurricane. I loved your cautious excitement about the storm. Hurricanes bring out the same in me. Thankfully, we only lost the roof last year during Hurricane Michael. It's really cool seeing weather events from other parts of the country. Glad y'all are safe. Thanks for taking the video and sharing!🙋♂️👍🏼
Storm chasing with Scott! Fun video documenting a historic weather event. And it's certainly more than rain, as much as people outside of CA try to downplay it. Yes, we get massive storms in the Midwest (where I am), but we don't have the funneling effect of mountains channeling even more water our way on top of what's coming from the sky.
thanks Scott and Troy for showing this. thought of you guys. glad made it through safely. nice seeing the lighting at night time against the colorful lights. stay safe.
I love a good storm. I get a cup of tea a throw and sit by the window and watch in the dark and silence. I love the sound of the rain on the window and pavements, and then the lightning and thunder is just magical. Gosh I’m sad.
Glad you guys are okay. I am in San Diego, we didn't get hit very hard. Rained of and on all day, then around 4:30pm the winds kicked up and so did the rain. I live on a golf course and at about 9:30pm I heard a crack, similiar to the one on your video. Woke up to a down tree. No one was injured.
This is so interesting … at the time you showed the wash that had filled up with water where I live it was pouring and super windy (IW). The wind was shifting directions too, it was so strange. It literally came from the east and would go south and then it was coming from the west. A tree branch hit my neighbors car but it wasn’t super heavy and her car looked fine. I wish I could show you the video I took of the water running down the mountains, it sounded like a beautiful waterfall.
So happy your both okay!! Hope everyone is. 🙏 love all the video of the storm. So exciting!! Thank you for risking your lives for us. I know your a very smart guy Scott and so I knew you and Troy would be ok👍💯💯❤️❤️ love you both
So glad You & Troy made it through ok! Boy, you did end up with some rain. The tree coming down was awesome! Most people never capture that stuff. Glad you made it through. Don't know what we all would do without you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you guys didn’t get washed away never thought about it that Palm Springs wouldn’t have street drains like yeah it is the desert. Learned something new thanks for sharing this
I've been following the storm on the news; all the preparation in Palm Springs was interesting especially since this never happens there. Been a bit worried about everyone your way, glad you and Troy are ok and that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, loved the video!
After the rain comes Sun. I bet the desert flora and fauna will be loving and relishing in a fresh dose of rain. Hope springs eternal and new life and all that jazz! Glad you made it through. That's pretty much been our summer this year in the UK. A bit of a naff-wet one! (Ooh Matron).
love seeing when you have put up a video. So glad you made it through the storm. Much love to you and Troy! When you said the 'cop shop' was still open, I chuckled a little. Hadn't heard that term since leaving Detroit! :)
Wow that's a lot of lightning. 😮 Great documentary of the "hurricane," aka tropical storm, aka rain 😊 Where I'm at we didn't get the winds or the lightning. But we got an awful lot of rain. When it rains like that it floods underneath our house in the crawl space. So we are looking into putting in a drain system to combat the problem. It rained non-stop yesterday. So happy to see the sun today ❤
Last time I was in that area was in 1984. Used to spend winters in Indio with my parents. I do remember some streets partly flooded. But, it receded pretty quick and we would see traffic cones and signs on dry areas where it had been flooded.
You’re so right it’s just rain. I lived in DHS for almost thirty years. On a job I held for 18 yrs it flooded so bad the first year I couldn’t get to work all the roads out of town were flooded. One was covered with four feet of mud. But desert people are resilient and know how to go on.
I'm thankful you all are ok. When I saw Palm Springs rain on the news I automatically thought of Scott and Troy. By the way I have a cousin in LA and he says there's a rumour going around that Leslie Van Houten got a compassionate release due to a terminal illness. I don't think ANYONE associated with the Manson family should EVER be released. Sorry for the rant. Be safe. We love y'all
Scott & Troy glad both are safe and sound I myself just checked in on a couple of friends of mine that lives in Las Vegas my one friend she has kids had to make sure they were safe and my other he didn't get as he said he only got about a half inch of rain as long as both friends are safe that's all that matter and thank you for the update on the storm you and Troy stay safe out there
I wish we had gotten some thunder & lightning, but I enjoyed the rain storm all day, mixed in the evening with some wind gusts. The footage at your home was wild!!! Thanks, Gentleman!!! 👍👍
Thank you Scott and Troy for taking the time to document this weather event, not knowing how bad it could have been. Glad you guys are safe and sound.
So glad you and Troy are safe!
Glad you guys are ok
Thank you for the journalism and a great night shot of the US flag!
You got the falling tree on camera!! Excellent reporting Scott. 💪🏽
That was fast Thank you for showing this 🙏💕🙏😍
Glad you both are okay and thank you for documenting your adventure. As a native Floridian who has been through tropical storms and hurricanes, it's never fun to go through them but they sure are a learning experience for everyone. So glad you all are okay.

This was so interesting, and I live in tornado alley. Glad you boys are okay ❤
Thanks Scott 🌞
Thanks!
If I had a choice, I would prefer too much warning than not enough. I hope all is s safe in SoCal❤
Interesting storm coverage. Glad you and Troy are okay and it wasn't as bad as was expected.

Great c overage and time sequences. Thank You Scott and Troy for documenting the Tropical Storm event. Stay safe ! ! !
It's been crazy. Glad you got video.
Really interesting to see! We are used to hurricanes here in Houston. I never realized how Palm Springs was built in terms of not having sewers, etc. Thanks for the video!
with the colored lights on the trees and lightening it looks like the fireworks from Disney
Palm Springs finally gets some rain!
Guess you two could become storm chasers. Great coverage. I am with so many that are thankful you guys are okay.
We were in Palm Springs just Friday (8/18) before the Sunday storm and what a freaky difference. Fri it was sunny, clear, 107 and no wind- and then.. this happened.

So glad you and Troy stayed safe!! That’s some scary stuff
My friend in cathedral City lost power Sunday at 1:30 and was supposed to come back on to😅 around noon.

The lightening is so dramatic against the colored lights, i love it. So glad that you and Troy are safe and sound!😊
It is interesting to think that those swollen washes and rushing streams are just water that condensed out of the atmosphere in a relatively short time period. Our planet is amazing. I love Palm Springs.
Just glad to know you two are safe
Thank you Scott. You always have such a lovely calming voice.
Thank you two for documenting this storm. That should take care of any drought conditions for the time being.
Thank God you are both Okay, i hate bad rain storms with the wind 🍃, csuses alot of damage, but the news media does blow up stories , thats their job , STAY SAFE , ❤
Palm Springs is beautiful, it looks like a fun place to live.
Nice to know that you're safe, and damage wasn't as extensive as previously predicted !!
Xx from NM

I'm happy everyone is OK there. I hope the damage to property is not too costly.
The Desert isn't equipped to handle this kind of rain. A friend of mine lost her roof. House was flooded. Glad you guys are safe. Thanks Scott.
I am so glad that you and Troy are fine
I love a good storm. I get a cup of tea a throw and sit by the window and watch in the dark and silence.

I'm glad you guys are safe. It's cool seeing the coverage from your view.
Thank you for the storm coverage❤
❤ i hope you and Troy are doing well after the tropical storm . The sky looked wicked ... Happy belated birthday Scott 🎉🥳🎉
My dad lives in Pheland and was telling me about this yesterday. More rain than they have had in several years. Much needed but too much too fast
Hate that it took this for me to find your channel but I'm glad I did. Can't wait to dive into your content. This stuff fascinates me.
I am so confused.
Other videos/reports are showing PS/Rancho Mirage/Cathedral City (just) a mess.
What's going on?
Ty Troy and Scott. Glad you guys made it through this unimaginable event for California.
Glad you guys didn’t get washed away never thought about it that Palm Springs wouldn’t have street drains like yeah it is the desert. Learned something new thanks for sharing this
Stay safe Scott and Troy!

We had a decent sized earthquake in L.A. yesterday.
Thanks Scott
Thank you for doing this.

That's just another wet afternoon in northern UK! Seriously, glad that both of you are ok!
Last time I was in that area was in 1984. Used to spend winters in Indio with my parents. I do remember some streets partly flooded. But, it receded pretty quick and we would see traffic cones and signs on dry areas where it had been flooded.
That was interesting 🤔 Thanks Scott. 😊
That is wild. Each area has it’s own situations. Tornado 🌪️ my area and severe storms but earthquakes. No. Nope. Scare me
Excellent reporting better than the news coverage!

Rain coming down in the desert is always captivating.
