Sir can i ask where you bought your 3pc glass shaker?? It really look nice.. thanks
Thanks! The brand is Yarai and I think you might be lucky if you go at BYOB cocktail emporium. Good luck
Glad you’re giving the Aviation some love, it’s one of my favorites! And that’s it, I’m never going to open a bottle of bubbles any other way.
Same here. Since I saw my friend doing it I never did otherwise. Cheers
Sounds like you had a great trip. Thanks for sharing. The cocktail looks great too.
Oh yes it was haha!! And yes I love this drink, should give it a go if you like that style. Cheers!
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Will do. I just have a hard time to find Creme de violette
Booze On The Rocks I made a DIY once and it was wonderful. I could make a video on that???
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks If you do it I will make a video using it.
Fantastic channel by the way!
Thanks a million
Beautiful looking cocktail. Loving the flair. Impressive cage removal. Happy weekend.
Haha! Thanks! When I learned that all cages were 6 turns, I started doing this. Super faste
Epic trip, epic night, epic cocktail!!! Aviation Royal is one of the best cocktail I've ever had 🖤
Remember our breakfast the day after? HAHAHA!!!😂😂😂
Oh yes 😂 And I also remember your face when we were walking at 35 degrees after... walking dead hahaha
Hahahahaha
I made this yesterday, followed your recipe to a tee. It was absolutely awesome! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much! So glad you liked it 🙂 Did you use the whole Champagne bottle on those? Haha
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks LOL! No but it really came out amazing, here's a pic: ibb.co/JsckNNn
@@mrcali68 beautiful!
Legendary shake.
LOVE Manhattan and love this cocktail!
Love this. Amazing drink. Thanks for your great content. I've become obsessed with your channel.
Thanks! Truly appreciate it! Cheers
am a fan! i made a channel here in the Philippines dedicated to this wonderful profession. all the best!!!
Thank you so much! I heard great things about the bar scene in the Philippines. One day I'd love to come and visit!
Just found the channel and I'm an instant fan! Great recipe - might be a new favorite of my wife. ;) Thank you for sharing, the great production and the wonderful, welcoming vibe in your video!
Thank you so much for the nice words! I really hope you’ll enjoy the cocktail. Cheers
As a huge fan of the original Aviation (and I use the exact same ratios as the one in your description for the classic one), I've been thinking of trying out a 'spritz' variation for a while, for some reason I never did one. I'm definitely trying this one out tonight (which is in less than a couple of hours for me :)
And so... how was it?
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks I didn't like the first couple of sips quite as much as I would expect. I must say it grows on you though, maybe it's the mixing of the sparkling wine with the rest of the ingredients as you start making more room in the glass and swirl it a little bit :) I prefer the classic Aviation, and when it comes to champagne cocktails my absolute favorite is the Old Cuban. Every once in a while I'm in a mood for something that I normally don't drink that often, this one might just fall into this category :)
This is really nice channel. Great job man! Iam a big fan! Hi from Hemingway bar in Prague.
Josef Kolena thank you so much!!! I saw your comment as I was taking the last sip of my Hemingway Daiquiri! How cool is that!! Cheers
You never can go wrong with the Aviation or any variation of it! :@)
Cheers and keep surprising us with cool cocktails.
Couldn’t agree more! Live this cocktail!
My favorite cocktail ever ♥️
Roses Andflour on a tellement hâte de pouvoir t’en faire un autre!!!
Aviation is one of our favourites. Will try this for sure. Thanks for sharing! Interested to know if you have a favourite an absinthe cocktail.
Hum??? Probably the Green Beast
Truffles On The Rocks that is a good one.
We have a Bathtub Gin speakeasy in Seattle as well. They are amazing, and I miss going there! Thanks for sharing this awesome drink! I'm 100% trying this on the next sunny day!
ps: If you ever have leftover Perignon again.. ya know.. I could help out! haha ..Amazing video as always!
Awesome! Let me know if you like it when you try it.
P.S. never happened hahaha!!!
If you pour Creme de Violette and Champagne it’s called a Stratosphere. This cocktail kind of reminds me of it sounds great
I have to try that Violette and Champagne Kir Royal. Sounds amazing! Cheers!
Is Parfait Amour close enough to Crème de Violette?
Love this idea. I thought at the end you were passing to me. Oh well. The Aviation is a great cocktail for sure and I'll have to try this version.
Haha!!! Come and grab one when you can! Cheers
Hey, I really love all your videos and espacially I'm absolutely in love with your shaker. That's by far the most esthetic bar tool I've seen so far. I did a lot of research, but I can't find any store, where I could buy or order a similar one. Could you please tell me where I can get a shaker like yours? I'm from Germany, Europe. I would really appreciate to get some advice :-)
I got them from a store in Toronto. It’s linked in the affiliate section under “my glass shaker”
I think they ship worldwide
Jean-Félix, comment arrives-tu à trouver du Maraschino ici au Québec?? La SAQ ne le tient pas (ce qui est à mon sens totalement incompréhensible). Le fais tu venir par importation privée?
can't wait to see your channels size adapt to the quality of your content. keep goin'!
Thanks man! Means a lot!!
Have you tried making this with the Empress 1908? I feel like the richer colour would be more "Royal" but I'm not sure how it would affect the flavour profile with the different gin.
Yes and it’s delicious!
Where did you find Creme de Violette in Quebec? I've been looking for it!
Where did you find maraschino liquor un Québec? It seems like its only sold on "restaurator only" SAQ.
I know, this is a problem... Maraschino arrive 2 - 3 times a year and when it does you have to buy 2 bottles to makes sure you will have enough until the next arrival. Meaning now you are screwed until the next release. I don't understand why the SAQ didn't release their stock for regular customers since bars are shut down?
I’ve been to the Employees Only in LA, EO is always a great time.
Can get pretty crazy pretty fast!
Aviation is one of my favorites as well! Often in photos it appears more purple in color. Have you consider using Empress Gin to enhance the color? Do you believe it would alter the flavor profile in a non-favorable way over London Dry Gin? Last question, where can I purchase that beautiful glass shaker you use in several of your videos?
That's because a lot of people (IMO) use way too much Crème de Violette. It also depends on the brand of Crème de Violette you're using. That said, Empress would make a delicious Aviation but the change of PH would make it look more pink than purple I think. I think you can still find the shaker at BYOB cocktail emporium if you are in Canada and Cocktail Kingdom if in the states. Cheers
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks I am in San Francisco. Will check at cocktail kingdom although have never seen it there. Do you mind mentioning the brand name? You can tell I have become obsessed with your Channel and Mixology. My partner is benefiting in COVID SIP ( I call the drinks now SIPpers!), and my home is starting to look like a speakeasy with bottles, bareware, a pellet ice machine, and glassware BEYOND! I am still on the hunt for a local provider of the clear ice block device you use. It is more expensive coming from Europe. Suggestions?
The color depends on the Violette used, as well as the ratio. The original cocktail should actually be a sky blue color.
The way you hold the caps in between the last 2 fingers. Did you learn that anywhere? Personal style?
I started doing this many years ago. When at the bar I always try to be as clean and efficient as possible and doing this allowed me to stop searching for the cap everytime LOL Don't remember where I saw that the first time but clearly didn't invent that flair ;) Cheers!
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks That's sweet! Thanks for the response man. Learning cocktails everyday from you! (;
Cheers!
Looks delicious. Have you been to Tokyo? We have some lovely cocktail bars here. Quarantine should be lifting soon too :)
Unfortunately no but it’s on our bucket list. Can’t wait
Store or online? Where can I get bottles of creme de violette and maraschino?
Where you from?
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks in Massachusetts near the New Hampshire border and I have found the 2 bottles at liquor outlet in Nashua. Thank you
My understanding of a cocktail to become royal is that you have to use champagne. Am I wrong? With Kir Royal it works that way.
AblemanSy that’s exactly it. That said, dry Prosecco or blanc de blanc or Californian dry sparkling made with the Chamoegnoise method are cost efficient, 99% of the people won’t notice a difference so IMP, it works just fine. But yeah, if you want to make it royal royal... use Champagne.
That is an awesome sweater! Great ‘fit. Anybody have an ID?
Hey thanks! It’s from only and sons
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Thank you!
French 75 with creme de violette?
Yes and no. Ingredients are similar but ratio is different and there's absinth
hope we can do a collab using one of our local ingredients :)
I'd love to have access to all your local ingredients!
maybe we can do a livestream since it's rum month
250 Maraschino bottles in Quebec, for restaurant licenses only.... FML
Really? While all bars are closed! This is so stupid!!!
I got one a few weeks ago. I could order it online. They sold fast.
Same here... bought two when they were available
You must get through so much Maraschino
I do haha! Hopefully one day they will sponsor me lol
"Easy gin cocktail recipe" come on, man ... nice recipe though, will try it out
🤔 I guess I'm bias. For me as soon as there's no homemade ingredients it's simple LOL
