This song (which is one of my favorites) has been in my spirit every day now for about a week. I don't know what my father is preparing me for but what I do know is that I'm going to stand still until his will is clear to me.

This song was so powerful during the rehearsals learning it we had to cut it off at everyday. The recording session was great but at the sound check we finished it and a were ready to go on to the next song but the band was in tears! JESUS KNOWS all about it and HE has the ANSWER.
I TRIED HIM FOR MYSELF WHEN NOTHING ELSE COULD HELP. I TRIED HIM FOR MYSELF MY FAITH IS IN NO ONE ELSE.
Lyrics I Tried Him For Myself - Edwin Hawkins
Intro
Do do do do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do
Chorus (choir)
I tried him ( do do)
Jesus is alright with me
One day he picked me up, this whole world and he died
(I may not) Know what he's done for you
But I can truly say Jesus brought me through
I'm so happy, I'm singing glory
Hallelujah
(Solo)
This life is much too short
To fool around and loose my soul
The way is so hard to find
Without a guide along the road
The best move I could make
Was when I found the Lord
And trusted in his word
(Hook)
I may not know what he's done for you
But I can truly say Jesus brought me through
I'm so happy, I'm singing glory
Hallelujah
(Choir sings "do do do" in background to the next 4 lines)
I know Jesus knows
My heart and soul, he understands my ups and downs
Still loves me (yeah), despite my faults
I feel his presence all around
Friends cannot compare (oh no they can't)
Too often they let me down
But a higher plan I've found
Countless blessings he sent my way
Are so many I cannot tell
But one thing I know, that I tried Jesus
And Jesus never, never, never fails
