Yes I have tried that and that's also good as well. I don't know what's going on with some of these breweries but right now there's been a lot of misses.
@jhpvids I think they are trying to appeal to the seltzer group with all these weird flavors. Even Mountain Dew has an alcoholic drink. I looked back at some of my older pictures from 2014-15, and goose island had some really good ipas and pilsners. I grabbed this one last night and was shocked at the stark difference. Even the labeling. I'll stick with my Gulden Draak, dogfish, and voodoo ranger. All of the craft companies are being bought out by subsidaries of Coors, Busch, etc, and it's showing.
Just had it myself. Definitely not an imperial IPA if even an IPA at all. Although, if you were to grade it as a fruit juice, you'd be rather pleased at it's surprising lack of boose-esc.
As a homebrewer that knows exactly what a balanced Imperial IPA should be, so many of the commercial opens are these over bitter, over hoppy niche beers that most people would never drink except the so-called "purists." You're making this face like you've never had a cocktail in your life. You don't understand mixology. There's over 250 types of hops out there and your claim that you're "not getting any hop flavors" means you're not getting the very select few hops that you prefer. All you talked about was the sweetness. No mention of the body, the mouthfeel, the malt, the balance, anything. You should preference your beer reviews with the beer you like and that you're not objective.

You'd think that at this point someone would have found "the" juicy IPA beer. I'm pretty sure companies are just endlessly iterating at this point for the sake of iterating. I can't even remember the difference between the beers in last few Voodoo Ranger variety packs and nothing sticks in my memory at all.
I'm convinced that the youth don't really like beer. Hence makers are producing these wildly flavored brews.

@DeathAdder7 for hundreds of years, people have enjoyed simple lagers and ales. Which is why Bud Light is one of the most popular beers in the world.
