Literally spent so many seasons on Anna Maria Island growing up. My grandmother used to have a house in Bradenton, and we woul visit every year. I miss it so much, and I hope that some time soon I will make a return. Coquina Beach is still my favorite go-to spot.
Here watching! Anna Maria Island is another spot on our Clearwater trip “itinerary.” I’ve never been to this beach! Looks beautiful and I can’t wait!! 💕🌊
Of all the islands I’ve visited in Florida, keywaydin island has to be my favorite. It’s a small island that is only accessible by boat, it’s is in between Naples and Marco island which are both beautiful places. When I went here, I had the whole 12 miles of private beach to myself because there is only 2-3 homes on the island. The only downside is the 50 minute boat ride to go to any restaurant or store, but it is still very beautiful! I usually go to Captiva island, but couldn’t go there this year because of tornado damage. Anyways I can’t wait for my trip here!
We were hooked when we visited AMI in 2018, so we bought a home in Holmes Beach. We're going next week for 2 weeks, and looking forward to being on AMI Time...
@TheDetourDuo You guys did a great job on the video. There's so much more to the island that you haven't seen. For example, go have dinner at Sunset at The Beach Bistro. It'll be an experience you'll remember for years to come.
After visiting many of the Gulf Beaches in our 8 years here, AMI has become our go-to beach spot. It has a little bit of everything. Our favorite spot is the shaded grilling area in the Coquina Beach section that’s just steps away from the sand and water. A little late but, WELCOME to FL!!!
AMI without a doubt is one of the best beaches in Florida. The sunsets there are sooo beautiful. We go there every summer on a girls trip. You guys did an excellent job capturing the vibe. So relaxing. There's also a lot of marine life to see like manatees, sea turtles and hammerhead sharks to name a few.
We were looking. Heard Cortez Beach was the spot for manatees but we didn't see any sadly marine life. Think the coast guard plane in the beginning might have spotted a shark though. It kept circling
I loved this video! Great shots and edits, you guys did an excellent job with this one. Im actually going there soon in May and this video made me even more excited to go now!
Thank you! We quite love it there. Especially bean point. Still stand by Los Chiludos being the best Mexican food on the island, and Ugly grouper is a fun spot with great food as well. Let us know what you think if you go to either!
I grew up in Bradenton in the 1950's until 1966 when I went to College. Bradenton Beach was only accessible via a "rickety" wooden bridge at Cortez FUN!
Hope you enjoy it! It's a fun little barrier island. Only "gripe" was how busy Manatee beach was, but that's easily avoidable with so many options for beaches.
Hello from Paris FRANCE. We come to AMI since 2010 and we try to come and visit every year. WE LOVE IT! nice youtube page. Can't wait to visit again, i'll check your other videos wouahhh it looks AMAZING. What about a video of you guys in PARIS city of Lights (if i can help) ?? Jean-Michel
Hello! How long is that flight from Paris? Paris is definitely on our list for travel when we make it internationally. Not quite in our budget yet though.
Same here! bean Point just might be our favorite beach around, but we have a trip to Sarasota and Siesta Key coming up soon so we'll get to check out those beaches as well
We are considering a trip to Emily this year in May, and we were wondering is there parking on AMI, so that we could park the car and take the trolley up and down the island? Good quality video and narration, nice job!
Thank you! Trolly runs up and down the island pretty consistently. We drove around, but honestly, it would have been easier to park at Manatee Beach, the parking lot is huge, and take the trolly wherever we wanted to go. It takes 15-20 mins to drive around the island, but sometimes congestion in the high-traffic areas is a pain.
I love this video. My family has been going to this island since the 1950s and it is a little known secret that recently has gotten more expensive because the NYT wrote some articles about it. I am very dissapointed that this video dod not cover Duffy’s Tavern in the middle of the island. It is an excellent burger stand with cold beers filled with memorabilia in the north central part of the island along the main drag. That and The Sandbar near the edge of the island which is higher end. There has never been a time i have been there and seen an empty table. Only downside to this island is that its abit of a trek from the airport. But it is worth it because the beaches are amazing. I have gone there since I was very little and have swam with manatees and dolphins very close to the western shore of the island. Excellent fishing also.
@@TheDetourDuo the public beach cafe on gulf drive is an excellent and affordable spot as well. That place is great because its right on the beach so its easy to walk to.
So there are a few different beaches along AMI. There are small parking lots sprinkled throughout the south of the island, either right next to the beach, or at most a 5min walk. The furtherest designated parking lot North that we found is at Manatee beach, and it's a huge parking lot right on the beach. If you wanted to go to Bean Point, then there is very limited street park. They have signs that say where parking is allowed and where it isn't.
@@TheDetourDuo I watch alot of Florida videos because I plan on moving there one day; the first thing I notice about yours that others lack is you take it a step further with your production and storytelling. My wife is a Real Estate Agent and I want to make Real estate videos for her one day when we move there. I could hire someone but I enjoy cinematography but not that good yet. Is it something you just get better at with time or do you have any great courses that helped you accelerate your production skills?
4 hours isn't too bad for a little bit of a get away/change of pace. Other than Manatee beach, it's really laid back and quiet but I can certainly understand not wanting to make a 4 hour drive.
Goid point. You can swim there fine as long as you're aware of what the tides are doing. That's pretty much the case at all the beaches there. Difference is there are no lifeguards at this one
Going here tomorrow for a week! My favorite place in Florida.
Ours too!

Holiday on Anna maria every chance we get, just lovely. All the way along to Saint armands , just perfect.
We've only been to the beaches here and along the panhandle in Florida, but I got to say AMI might be the best we've been to!
@The Detour Duo no argument here, the warm water, beautiful sun sets , meals on the beach.
Sure beats the cold Irish weather we normally get.

50 min boat ride is worth it for a beautiful secluded beach if you ask me!
Love the vibe of the video. A tip on really good Mexican food is always a good thing.
100% agree. Finding good Mexican food is key

It's easy to fall in love with. Folks there might also be some of the nicest we met in Florida

This video sold me on the island 🏝️
Yay! Glad to hear that. It's one of our favorite places
Cool content. I’m from Pensacola. That Cali burrito looks delicious!!
It was! Top 5 I've had since living in Cali.

Great video. I’m going Monday to visit. This video helped plan my itinerary. Ty
Looking forward to checking out Bean Point and hitting those restaurants!
Let us know what you think. Bean Point is easily our favorite beach in the area!

Is there parking specifically at AMI. Or do you have to park further out and walk or how does it work?

Great video. May I ask what song was playing at the beginning of the rod and reel part?
Thanks for watching, and sorry for the delay. It's called "summertime" by elephant motel

Nice. Cannot tell you the last time I've been fishing. Having said that, I want to try my hand at deep sea fishing
