I love the new aspect of Medea, it's so much more fun now :) Why did you not take the pom at 6:20, or the pom slice at 8:00? Also why did you skip the Hades room? It was free and could have made the Chronos fight faster.
The last numbered combat room in Tartarus spawns a number of enemies based on the number of rooms you went to prior to getting there. The hades room is counted in this total. I would assume that the extra time added by the extra enemies isn't worth the buffs Hades provides Mel. IDK about the poms though. Maybe to save money in case there was something in a later shop or well worth more.
Goldenbadgers is correct about the Hades room. For the pom/pom slice, unfortunately in this patch getting the Spark of Ixion before the Fields biome is 100% necessary for super fast times, so I orient myself to be able to get it. You want to always have at least 55 gold leaving Oceanus, so I'm cognizant of that always. Furthermore, you can slightly increase your odds by purchasing the healing item before rerolling the well. This is because every time you reroll, the game randomly picks 1 thing on screen to not show again. The top slot is always healing, so if it bans a healing item that doesn't make it more likely for you to get the Ixion. Buying the healing item guarantees one of the non-healing items will be "banned" on the next screen, reducing the number of items in the pool with the Ixion by 1. It's a micro-optimization that probably only increases Ixion chances by a few %, but I try to always have around 100 gold if possible to buy the healing item for that reason. Personal preference really. First pom was probably fine.
i fucking love beowulf

Thanks for this, you give me enough confidence and perhaps a bit of motivation to actually try to get past the first zone using the friggin' skull.

Medea OWNS
How do you disable the centaur arcana card?
You can find the community prepped save files here: www.speedrun.com/hades2/resources
Do you have to prime attack before every special?
If you want the attack to explode then yes, and attack is fairly weak on its own, with low AOE.
