So the Euro price for the passenger train is €149.99 which is about $220AUD. $20 more than normal but bigger carriages, fully brick built and has lights. Seems good value to me but what do you think?
The freight trains pantograph is lower than the top car on the car transport wagon! I like this wagon as it’s a nod to wagons from years past but I feel this locomotive is the wrong choice for this train. As is most of the cargo, a couple of bushes on a pallet in a container is just bad! That changing station could of broken down and been packed into the containers
There’s so many things about this set. Don’t know why they made it a double Decker car trainspotter and not just single. And agree about the charger. If they’d done a single deck wagon they could have put the charger under it I reckon. Would have been way better. I do like the wagon the charger goes in though. That’s a nice design
The lopsided T shape is definitely familiar. They have a bit of a formula they use. But it’s so much better than the last station they did. And I love the two vehicles included!
@@GJBricks I thought the 2014 station was better, the sets only look like they are only getting easier and less well constructed, they rely to much on big pieces and also have given us a less complete sets
My complaint about the passenger train is that there should be a power car or dvt on the rear to allow reversal of direction. But that would've pushed the price up significantly.
If I were to grade these three sets, I personally would give the Passenger Train an A-, the train station a B, and the cargo freight train a C. I mostly like the passenger train, but the fact that the doors are smack-dab in the middle of the carriages loses points for me and I hadn’t considered the roof until you pointed it out. It’s like the economy version of the Horizon Express, but until I get a better view of the interior I’m still on the fence. I’d probably still want to amend it to have a toilet and see about moving the doors to the end rather than the middle. The station set is decent, but I’m not personally the biggest fan of the way LEGO tends to have cutaway buildings like this. I like modular buildings a lot because of its logical presentation so it’s more a style preference. IMO It just ends up looking like you sawed half the building and there’s no logical way for minifigs to get to the upstairs level. Minus the style preference with the open back, I do like the modern look of it and the wall tile art. The level crossing is a nice idea, but I wish they made the crossing bar cover both lanes of traffic. I’d like to know if the bus that’s included is wheelchair accessible as the new passenger train is. The truck is a cool feature, but the portaloo on the back is weird to me. The cargo train just looks a bit underwhelming to me personally with really the car carrier and the new plant piece piquing my interest.
They all look very interesting - almost enough to make me find some room for a LEGO train layout :-) I agree with you that the freight train loco doesn't look right and the wagons don't make a lot of sense. The new passenger loco looks like it has a very long overhang on the front that may cause clearance issues round corners for some people.. I'm intrigued by what appears to be a new double door piece used on the passenger train carriage and the bus?? More videos please!!
I think they used the double doors on the city school set first. And I’ve seen interior shots of the train and it’s not pretty… it’s definitely not as good as the last set of trains though sadly.
Personally that bus in the train station is amazing. Anyone here heard of Tayo The Little Bus? It reminds me of that hilarious show. The station itself is cool, i like the service truck thingy with the Thunderbox, but i would pay a bit more if there was a taxi and maybe a civilian car included. Or a mail van, who knows. Train stations are great sets to add vehicles to. The passenger train is neat, might get it. I’m not a huge fan of the freight train, the telehandler-crane thingy is too technic-y for City in my opinion. Also it bugs me there’s no license plates for the electric cars. Shame there’s no cargo truck build either. I’m also not a fan of that teal train car, it’s a bit goofy looking. I might skip it or wait until it’s on sale. Overall, i like the train station and passenger train. I usually don’t get the passenger trains, but i may get that one. The train station will probably be a day 1 buy for me, along with the new grocery store and 2 of the farm sets.
On the freight train, I like the open gondola (might pick it up on its own off bricklink) and that loader truck thing, but the loco is so, so very ugly

The point of the solar panel and the charger is the use of them with the cars on the transporter - they are EVs.
I know. But it’s odd on the train don’t you think? Why would you transport the cars and charger. It’s like they couldn’t think of anything to use.
@@GJBricks yeah, in reality the chargers wouldn't be shipped with the cars. So I suppose it's just a fun play opportunity, I can see my kids using it
Cargo train is $190 in US

I'm going to get the train station. It looks great, but I'm not a fan of the trains. I had high hope's but I don't like the look of them.
The train station is incredibly similar to 7997

The passenger train reminds me of the 1985 red high speed train (shapewise)
I can see that. Think that was more the French tgv whereas this is the Japanese bullet train In nature.

This way they can sell twice as many to AFOLs. Lol
I want the freight train
What is it about the freight train you like so much?
I believe that the freight train is going to be at or around $250 Australian. (googled exchange rate)

In Germany the Cargo train cost 60€ and the Passenger train 150€
60€, there is no waiting should be at least 200€
The cargo lego train for 2022 is 299.99 dollars
And the passenger one is $220 AUD apparently

Yep. The wagon is very nicely designed. Probably easy to make too but not in the nice colour scheme. Yet
do you like cheese?
Who doesn’t?
