18:30 As a belgian i clearly remember that day of summer 2018 . It was simply amazing to watch , every player had a standing ovation , everybody was happy . It was almost like we won the world cup . It was one of the best summer in my life i will never forget that team and that world cup in my life . This team is the only reason why i prefer world cup 2018 to 2022 . I hope one day maybe , the new generation (Doku , Openda , Lukebakio) will led us to another prime like this .
As a Croat, I will never regret the finals that Belgium and Croatia were supposed to play in Russia. I am deeply convinced that it would be the most sensational final in the history of the World Cup ... regardless of who would be the winner.
@sandrobenic3914 I'm totally agreeing with you , i don't know when we will see a final with 2 of the biggest outsiders of the world cup . Especially when none of them won the trophy yet . Croatia was such an impressive nation for only 3 million people. Respect to all Croatia 🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
1:09 Ummm😐 Spain actually did make the top 4 at a world cup before 2010. They were 4th at the 1950 World Cup. Although you probably should’ve said they never reached the Semifinals of a World Cup before then. Which is true, since that World Cup ended with another group stage phase where Spain finished 4th in that group and nor was there a semifinal stage for that tournament.
suprising how some teams like portugal with 1 one of the greatest players of all time cr7 can not win the world cup because they dont have the best teamates ever
Belgium got extremely unlucky with their side of the bracket. Even still that match against France was 50/50 and both sides were constantly attacking. Some crucial saves from Lloris really saved them. I don't think Belgium will ever be that good again. This was an absurd collection of generational talents
Also if I may add that the World cup tournaments of 1998 and 2018 were for obvious reasons my favourites, France'98 will always stand out as it was the first time Les Bleus lifted the trophy but 2018 gave us Kylian Mbappé 🇨🇵
In polands case as well the game against Germany was notoriously played on horrible pitch conditions with players slipping constantly and apparently the ref was in favour of Germany. Still great campaign, facing brazil and winning might as well be a final
So when Bulgaria defeated Argentina in 1994 they wasn't in "their best form", but when Romania defeated Argentina 2 days later they suddenly become an "impossibly strong team" again, that's some interesting logic u got there
No hate but you made a mistake at 14:48 slovakia did not defeat netherlands but the other way around. Doesn't matter we all learn from mistakes in editing.
The Netherlands may have been very close to winning the World Cup in 2010, but many Dutch people, and probably those from other countries, will argue that that World Cup wasn'g their best campaign. Most people will tell you that the 1974 World Cup was the best campaign, not just based on the results, but on the squad's quality of play. Johan Cruijff may have been called the best player in the whole tournament. I understand the reason why you picked 2010. That edition had the most matches for the Dutch, but that team had a hard time playing against the teams considered beatable based on statistics, and not just the big teams. Their best match was probably the one against either Brazil in the quarterfinals or Uruguay in the semifinals. The final against Spain was one the Dutch will not forget, because of Robben's attempt (he should have bloody hell lobbed it past Casillas), but it was also a pretty dirty kicks-on-the-legsmatch, in particular on the Dutch side. Coming from a Dutch guy, that says enough. And I have to be honest on that one, allthough the referee wasn't doing a great job either, especially with the clear corner not being given to the Dutch just directly prior go Iniesta's goal (and still not everyone here agrees on whether Iniesta was onside or offside). On a side note about the 2010 campaign: The Dutch didn't have thd best team, but it was definitely a real team in the knockout stages prior to the final. The special thing about that campaign that I remember is that most big teams were not at their best and the Dutch team wasn't really a top favorite for the title either. There was an interview with former Brazilian star Romário, who basically said that any country like Germany, Spain, Italy and France could have had a chance against Brazil, but also that he thought that their particular adapted strategy based on the opponent's strength (and smart, according to him) would actually cause the Netherlands to be the most dangerous team Brazil could play against back then. I'm not really sure if what he said about the team's qualities was true, but for the time being he proved himself right based on the result.
The best Dutch team ever was clearly their 1974 team. Unfortunetly for them Germany was also super strong in this period, albeit not quite as strong as their Euro 72 winning side. Imagine a World Cup final with Beckenbauer, Cruyff & Gerd Mueller all on the same pitch...you wont find better than that.
Considering they did beat italy twice at the same tournament before... and even "Germany" as in 3rd Reich... valid point. Whole europe observed the outcome.
Hey pookie♥️ I couldn't contact you but I've found you here and I'd like to deny your request of drawing furry corn, it's too weird for me. I'm very sorry.
How? They played in France, a country that criticized fascism and the colonization of Ethiopia and Italy’s position in the Spanish Civil War. Why should France help Italy to win?
I thinks since you are talking about european national teams we should also include every uefa member. since you said they are 50 national teams you missed 5. Those 5 are Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Israel. Meanwhile the first 4 never qualified so they wouldnt be included in this video anyway but Israel should. They qualified only once, the World Cup in 1970 which they finished bottom of the group and ended their campaign as 12th out of 16

@@samplingmastersxlr8660 He hasn't won a game yet💀
@@Barca_Fan33yes that is very correct but atleast he won the euros
2004 saw Portugal's best team since Eusebio. Back then, CR7 was still a frustrating trick merchant

Nice editing, and a REALLY strong idea for the video!
Just one thing: it was BRIAN Laudrup who scored against Brazil, not Michael 😊
Excellent video, highly informative and well researched thank you 👍👍👍

When Argentina played with Bulgaria, Argentina was already qualified for the next round, so the match with Bulgaria didn’t matter anymore
Correction: In 1950 there were not 16 teams but only 13. Most countries simply couldn't afford the trip to South America.
Czechia is officially a successor of Czechoslovakia, so you should count it. 2 times 2nd place....
17:26 am I the only one who saw the 424 formation😂

What makes this special is this team was not as good as in 1998 where Netherlands finished 4th place
Its safe to say Italy,Germany,France and Spain are the best Teams in European
The biggest countries have the best teams? No way, who would have thought?
Germany is the best
True

England always will have some accusations of cheating or being favoured in that 1966 championship…
Belgium should've won the 2018 wc , they were insane
It’s part of the game
The French defence was masterclass, took out Antonio Griezmann the game would be resulting in Belgium victory
And france was even more insane
Reaching 3rd place once in 1966 is portugals best Campaign ever...and people think they could win a cup
Didn’t Switzerland reach the quarterfinal stage 3 times before? So wouldn’t those be their best run then finishing in the last 16 ?

how do you determine the position when a country gets eliminated before the semi-finals?
In theory there are still the rounds of elimination and the overall wins/draws, etc... but the level reached matters more.
