Honestly, the first time I watched it, I didn't actually realize the depth of the scene where the bodies were being thrown off the cart, but when I rewatched it, I realized the reality they were living in. Not being able to take the bodies of their loved ones home, or even being given the chance to pay respects to them, it's painful. I could feel my stomach churning when Petra's father came into the scene, he couldn't even watch his daughter one last time. I can't even imagine a parent losing their kid before themselves, let alone not being able to see them one last time.
Wow. This reminds me of how painful Petra's death was for me, I couldn't move on for weeks 😭 The scene with Petra's dad made it worse 😭😭 I'm sure it's painful for Kamiya-san too since she's one of his fav character. I bet it really left an impact on him. Thank you so much for the translation and explanation 💜
Petra is one of the most oppressed characters of Ata. She was killed in a sad way, her body was thrown and she could not meet her father. In return, Annie manages to meet her father and live with Armin after depriving Petra of this life. This is unfair.😭💔
To be honest, it's just hard for me to ever forgive Annie for what she did. Even though she had her side of the struggle too but whenever i remember all the members of Levi squad being wiped out just like that, it was so unacceptable, so when i see Annie, i always get reminded of how cruelly she just...killed them, that scene flashes back. It's too cruel. That moment when they take their positions to distract Annie's titan form from Eren, it's when eren's thoughts are heard. He realized n witnesses how the team coordinates, the way they trust each other, how they take responsibility, how they react, take actions without even talking to each other in such a critical situation n their trust on Levi everything. Each n every detail, it's so deep, the emotion i felt seeing them as team was beyond something like their teamwork was beyond spiritual level. To take actions without orders but only trust, taking positions understanding the situation quickly without an error. N they did everything to their best n Annie just wiping them out was unimaginable.
You are absolutely amazing at figuring these out! Don't pressure nor rush :D We would deffo keep gobbling up any content any time haha! Thanks for subbing and explaining!!!
well, I think it's a huge omission that in the anime they replaced the meaning of kanji. after all, in the manga, it turns out, the point is more that Petra is in love with Levi, when in the anime itself the emphasis is placed only on her admiration.

Thank you so much for the translation. I really appreciate your work. I was watching the special show this morning just to see everyone reactions and voices tho. Luckily I found this tonight
I love this addition, and I guess it was added in the same way Willy Tybur hugging his kids in Season 4 was. I believe it was to humanize the process, to let it be not just another loss, because they're less than side characters. So even the side side characters get humanized. Also, I'm so relieved Levi never had an anime-only scene implying anything, and that he never in the manga nor anime ever showed any attraction to Petra (despite shippers' desire), because she was a teen... And it would've been as preda tory as Ereri, but as a ship it doesn't get nearly as much backlash... PS: thank you so much yet again for your work with the subs!!
@@pasqualinichiara79 in the year 848 of the SnK's world, she joined Levi's squad, she was 19 and he was in his 30s... It's incredibly predat ory, if it was canon. Fortunately, the SnK Guidebook talks about her interactions with Oluo as "lovers' quarrel" and Isayama himself said they were from the same trainee group so they're a healthy couple I ship canonically. EDIT: sorry I bother again. But it's fundamental to me to share this as a survivor of a preda tory relationship. Being 19 is being a teen, it's all in the word itself. And it's fundamental that you understand power dynamics. A 30 year old grown men has NO bussiness associating himself with a person freshly out of high school. It's specially preda tory in the case of Levi and Petra because he is his superior and there's nothing equal in their relationship. She is closer to Eren's age or Oluo (her actual romantic interest), than this grown men. And the fact people normalize it when it comes to them and not Ere ri is so wrong... Also, people bringing Kamiya into this is beyond disrespectful since he and his wife were BOTH adults in an equal relationship when they married (she was 27).
Tbh i don't really ship them because i don't think there was enough development for them but if petra was still alive even if it was for just a little bit more -knowing isayama💀- and had more interactions with levi i can see myself liking this ship🥺 i just wanted levi to be happy like...
It's not that far Petra was confirmed to be 22 years old and Levi was not at the end of season He's around 28 or 29 year old that time, cause at the end Levi's just enter 34 years old.
@@eldriel4everHello, sorry I'm super late but where was it confirmed that Petra was 22? 👀 I'd love to know because some people are so annoying with the age gap when it's clear that it's not that big

Yess
Seeing Annie happy ending with her father and armin while Levi and Petra's father😭
yes, I agree, her destiny was one of the most cruel. I hope they will show her importance for Levi in the last episodes...

Man the injustice. For crying out loud isayama.
This is the reason why I dislike Annie💔
Now play Petra's death scene next to Annie eating pie, like what was Isayama even trying to do there?
