- Though it's delicious on its own, this simple cake can be dressed up in any number of ways, making it one of the most versatile dessert recipes you'll have in your recipe box. Poached or sauteed fresh fruit make a lovely topping - or try it as I like it best, with a spoonful of preserved Amarena cherries in syrup (Fabbri makes a good product) and a dollop of whipped cream. This cake keeps well, and is even moister after a day or two. Just made one for NYE😂 I'm in SW Florida the home of Tropicana Oj so naturally I make an "orange dream" flavored one every year w/white fluffy icing. I use the oj & pulp in place of water and olive oil in place of vegetable oil; it's a big hit every season just finished the last piece last wknd🥰

In my area olive oil is less commonoy found. I have never heard of this cake, I just know its used in making many Italian dishes. Hence I wonder how it tastes like in cake.

Did I miss the amounts for these ingredients? It isn't a recipe without telling how much of each ingredient is needed.
A cake has to taste of butter, not olive oil. Olive oil is for salads.
