Actually one of the only tutorials out there that showed the 40 pin connector - dropped mine and it came loose, followed the tutorial of reseating it and the screen works again. THANK YOU!
OMG, you really made it to seem so easily to install. After seeing you replace the whole screen you gave me the courage to try to do it myself. I appreciate you listing the links to purchase all the parts and tools, that's a plus for you as a RUclips teacher. Again, Thanks, I will give it a try! Wish me luck everyone.... Regards from Mexico
I easily saved myself $100 - $150 by replacing the screen on my own. I bought the suggested Macbook repair kid which was $14.00 on Amazon. Definitely the right decision. I can't thank you enough for posting a top-notch instructional video.
Easy and to the point! Thanks for the lesson. I’d like to add that the two back screws closest to model information are shorter than the other eight. Keep them separate.
Fabulous - just the demonstration I was looking for...and strangely meditative to watch the demo...I am now waiting for my replacement screen to arrive. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much, I repaired a second hand MacBook thanks to your video, and won my girlfriend's admiration; 2:53 I pulled up instead of sliding up and damaged the port, but thank god is not broken.
Nice tutorial, managed to fix my MBP watching this and other videos. The only thing i think you missed is the disconnection of the power cable, otherwise awesomely clear
hey man..thank you so much!! I do recommend a magnifying glass a tweezers to connect the the three small cables on to the mother board. that for me was the hardest but besides that IT works!!!! thank you so much!
I just performed the same repair on an early 2015 model using this as a guide. The parts you are dealing with appear to be the same between the models.
By the way, it seemed that this tutorial also works on the retina 2015 version (just did). The actual 2015 tutorial of somebody else was about another structure inside, weird. Thanks mate!
Thx, great video! This helps a lot. One little note: I think you forgot to put the plastic covers for the hinges on at the very end, just before putting the bottom cover back on.
@@SimonLKJ Thanks so much. Ebay and Amazon is where we are finding them and given how expensive they are, just wanted to make sure we weren't missing "the deal" somewhere else. YES!!!!! Thank you for this video!!! My daughter started college (engineering) at a major university. So many things have gone wrong for her this first semester INCLUDING breaking her mac screen this past weekend. $650 to repair is our quote from Apple. Her dad is a techie and feels confident replacing it as a result of your video. Hunderds saved. Thanks so much!
Great tutorial and I may be doing this soon. My cat knocked my tea over on my Macbook Pro 2015 mid. 15" retina. Now I see bright light coming through the bottom left corner. Is there anyway to fix the screen without purchasing and replacing the screen ? I know stupid question but limited funds. Im sure I have to purchase a new screen assembly and need to look up the cost, pricey I am sure. Also, is this the same assembly and procedure for my particular computer ? Thanks for the tutorial.
Sorry to hear that. You need a full assembly LCD screen replacement. Note, this video is for 13". But the foundation steps should be similar to this video.
Hey is it normal when you said that you needed to pull the cable, well I did the same thing but when I came to add the new one it would not stick what should I do?
Hello ! thank you for the video ! Do you think it is possible to put a late 2013 screen on a mid 2014 computer ? (I think there is a different cable, the one with the camera) Thank you !
Maybe you are looking a different model ? It should be compatible for late 2013 on a mid 2014. Double check on the description and match the images cable as well. Did you try the link in description ?
I'm not sure who can assemble the LCD and the glass. I tried once by taking out the glass and change the LCD, it was really difficult. And you will never get exact look like the original. Strongly advise to get the full assembled screen.
I highly recommend to get it as one. Do not buy just the screen. You will end up removing the glass, replace the screen and re-tape the glass. Not worth it. Cheers !
thanks you for your help!! Iwould like to know where do you buy the diplay screen? I was looking several places, like aliexpress, Could you recommend a store to buy it?
