Welcome to the Maidiacs! Sure, everybody says that they're ready for BAND-MAID, but most reactors end up having to stop and re-start after the initial shock of experiencing them for the first time. Get used to being surprised, because they are incredibly creative and have the musical talent to bring to life just about anything they can dream up. Just remember: Life is better with BAND-MAID! 🤘🤩🤘
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Seems not so shy now. Saiki has stepped up to the interview scene in a big way. Now flying solo doing 22 out of the 26 scheduled radio interviews on her lonesome
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. Great reaction and I'm glad you loved your first performance of Band-Maid. MISA (That's right...all caps and no last name) is also known as "The Barefoot Assassin", as she plays barefoot whenever possible and she kills it on the bass. The Maids are a band of no egos, so they let everyone shine. Their portfolio is deep and diverse, you you're in for a treat. One great song down, and thank you for reacting to the Maids. Now buckle up and enjoy the journey...120+ more to go...😆 PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 Song suggestions: "Onset" Live at Zepp Tokyo, is a fantastic instrumental. Watch MISA closely as she will show you her slight of hand trick with her pick. "Domination" Live at the Line Cube Shibuya. Before "Hate?", this was the song many would suggest as a first time listen. The Maid, like you said, enjoy playing their music and this one shows it. "Manners" and "Black Hole" Live Online Okyu-ji. A great two-for to get different feels for the band. Manners is a bluesy/groovy song and Black Hole is all about chao and speed as you experience being pulled into a black hole. Their fastest song at 220 bpm currently in their portfolio.
I love the way you conduct your reactions. You make sure that the music comes first and then we are going to talk about it. This definitely works for me. It gives respect to the work of the band/singer/composer of the music and then respects the listener who are on this site to here music they want to hear, and then they want to know wwhat you think about it. So for these reasons I have subscribed MrBen and I am looking for ward to hearing more music with you and I also hope it includes more Band Maid!
It's amazing how Band-Maid has rewritten the laws of nature: Hate brings Love! 😖--->🎀--->😍 Some news... -- The Warning, a world-famous band from Mexico, and BAND-MAID recently completed their amazing 2-man, collab concert in Japan with the introduction of their new song, “Show Them.” -- BAND-MAID released a new song, "Bestie," co-written with Mike Einziger of INCUBUS!
