Hi Nooblets, you can place your cannon into a tent, so after you finish using it, you can simply pick up the tent, and your cannon will return to you without demolish it.
@@NOOBLETS woooooooowww you responded♥️ hahaha! It's just unpractical in my opinion. But bro, I love your videos! YYYUUGE FAN! From the Captain aswell.
taming effectiveness only gets lowered if the last shot does the double damage, none of the others. its the same mechanics that lower effectiveness if a koed tamed gets damaged
Still works as of 04/06/2022. Nooblets never let’s you down! A few things to mention that I didn’t hear but might have missed in the video are you must use a pteranodon as other flyers do not keep the agro. You must have them set to follow with high as the distance. Otherwise your Pteranodon will land.
Finally was able to try this out on Scorched Earth. I had to use a Lymantria instead of a PT (since they don't spawn on SE). I also had to use a normal doorframe instead of the double doorframe for the top opening. The Lymantria is small enough to fly right through otherwise. It took some trial and error to lead the golem just right but in the end it worked like a charm. Thank you Nooblets for all your work and testing.
Ummm.... Just to clarify... Only the last shot upon knock out will lose taming levels with splash damage... It means you can miss a few times and still knock one out with out losing taming bonus levels. Unless as said before, the final shot will decide the taming bonus levels.
Thanks dude! I've lost quite a few cannons, metal dino gates, metal walls and a bronto w/platform saddle. All trying different cannon methods (which is hard to line up), rocket launcher method, and ballista method. After watching this video and the prior one where you explain the mechanics, I feel confident to give your method a go later today. I'll check in with an update once I've attempted it.
Sorry this reply took longer than expected. I was able to put it to the test last night. We tamed a 145 and 149 with no complications. Perfect method. Thx again brother !!
Video was brilliant, played ARK for years but had never tamed one of these bad boys. Built said trap as you explained, first go 130 in the blast shield , no splash damage 😃 thanks mate
Thank you so much for this! I play solo and I've been trying to figure out how in the world I was going to get one of these things. Can confirm argys do not hold aggro on them. I tweaked it slightly since I didn't feel like getting a ptera though. I did it with a normal doorframe on top and... a moth. Lol! Took a bit of maneuvering because the moth doesn't actually get stuck in the door like other mounts. I did get a little splash damage because some positioning was off. It worked though! Now I've got a rocky friend.
Thank you so much for your amazing skills at showing us lesser Arkers how to make something like this easier .. and I just used this method and tamed up a 196 Rock elemental on the server I'm playing on. Thank you again Steve for your hard work and dedication on Ark!
Works amazing, dud this on CI today and tamed a 140 at 99%. Just aim for the top of the doorframe window and ur good, I also placed a small chest on a second foundation next to cannon for cannon ammo
Awesome video, can only imagine the time spent trying to perfect this, thanks so much, first try i had the cannon slightly out and thought it'd be fine, only got 90% taming effectiveness, then for the next one made sure it was exactly as you said/showed and got 100%, thanks heaps, always use and love your videos
works! My guy was a bit to the side and not in the middle so when I got him down he was at 94%, but I play this game casually so that was good enough. Tnx man
With a cinamacrops on gen 1 with no flyers you could hover and guide a pt to the trap get it stuck there, the place down a dino behind the cannon, hop on and whistle the pt to follow the dino so you can freely guide a x rock golem to the trap!
Even I was able to do it. Next step, find a high level one near my trap. It took dying once to get it aligned perfectly with the trap but it worked. Also, gawd help you if the Pteranodon decides to move.
I tried this with an Argy and cant get it to work, every time I jump off bird the Golem keeps aggro on me and tries to walk around the doorframes then starts attacking the metal
Actually this method works perfectly without all that extra work you put in the rock golem head hit box are wonky when you aim at it from the front like that so to get 100% taming effectiveness simply set your canon up from a diagonal position to the rock elemental that way it’s a perfect head shot every time or the canon ball will just entirely miss and not do damage if it doesn’t hit the golems head hit box. Also a griffin works better if you have one over the PT better elevation control.
does this only work with Pteranodon? I tried it with an argent and the rock golem hit it to death. I moved the cannon around and hoped for the best and did knock it out with 98.5 taming effectiveness.
This trap seems very efficient however 1 issue I have is not all terrain is consistently flat like that and would be really hard to get one that's the perfect level for the golem and also you only tested with a PT. I think it would've been better if you tested this using a variety of small flying creatures as I see many comments saying they did it with a Griffin or an arge or a lymantria and gave various different results. I want to know what some of the good tames to use are as I play SE and can't get a PT unless I spawn one in and forcetame it but I don't really want to use cheats on my SE play through. I would appreciate some feed back to some tames you could use as a replacement if not I'll probably just spawn one in.
I tried this on my single player world and it didn't work well for me. My first complaint is that you tested this in the same place. Meaning the terrain is constant, so this cannot just be placed elsewhere...different measurements are needed. Any slight elevation change affects the Golem's head location and can cause splash damage regardless. The cannon placement is not easy to get either. Lining up the cannon depends on the elevation of the player (Being above the foundation has a different view from ground level). I did my test on a super flat area of Valguero and could not get the cannon to the correct angle. I also tried in a mountainous area with no luck. I'll keep trying on my end, but I spent a good 3 hours already testing.
Yes it need to be on flat ground or the flyer will be lower or higher than the cannon, put the cannon down, fire at the top of its head and if its to low or high, pick the cannon up and adjust it.
@@LeoTheYuty That may be possible, but it would be a huge inconvenience to make. The way Astrocetus blueprint is set up anytime it eats food it decreases effectiveness. For the modded food you would have to cast to Astrocetus when its consumed and alter the effectiveness that way, but im not entirely sure if its possible.

I found a way to tame any golem with 100% efficiency and its kind of a bug or maybe just playing with the hitbox but it works very nicely i just put a metal gate and let the golem get stuck hitting it for eternity and place a gate door on it and the gate door blocks the splash damage and i can hit its head without splash damage
If u were to change one of the door frames with a wall where his head is the wall will take the splash damage. I tame lot of golem on official and i get 100 that way
On the server I'm in it doesn't work the elemental prioritizes the structures and then if it's not focused on the structures it's focused on the player and it walks around the doorframes
