Hi Rion, I've been watching your videos for awhile and came back to watch this and get excited for my upcoming trip to Fukuoka, thanks for the real videos and detailed tips for travelling it really helps and sets you apart from other channels! Lets keep walking!
Nice hotel. Love the library theme. Bring Imodium with you next time you travel. That works really quickly to stop stomach ailment caused by food. Hope you ate mentaiko pasta and Fukuoka style ramen at the street stalls. Looking forward to the next video.👏👍
Hiroshima castle was beautiful, and the stone walls around the castle were sugoi. The lobby of your hotel in Hakata was so modern and visually stunning. Your lunch looked meccha oishi. Arigatougozaimasu, Rion, for introducing me to Hiroshima and Fukuoka. I want to visit there one day. I'm looking forward to watching more of your travel adventures. Let's keep walking! 👍🇯🇵
Thank you for the interesting insight into the meaning of the word ishi, and to the meaning of your family name, Ishida. I always enjoy your Japanese lessons. Kyo no resson arigatougozaimasu! 🇯🇵
It is really astonishing that you could enjoy the breakfasr feast at the Hiroshima hotel in spite of your stomack ake. The castle is really fine rebuilt obviously very close to the original outside including the impressive stone walls. But inside it is closer to the modern museum dealing with Hiroshima history and Japanese tradition in general. Nice to watch indeed. The surrounding also so peaceful - what a contrast to overcrowded places in Osaka or Kyoto. The mascot, white cat with the castle hat, is really cute and meaningful. So many Shinkansen versions one more attractive than another. The Fukuoka Basic hotel is of the unique architecture, very interesting. The udon meal looks yummy including shrimp version of katsedon, too, obviouslly light enough for your weak stomack. Fukuoka sunset from the large window also beautiful. This trip serial continues in great Rion style. No doubt, the following adventures will be interesting, as well. GAAOO!
Hakata is known for Tonkotsu Ramen. It's a bit heavy, though. I wouldn't eat it on an upset stomach! Fukuoka not being crowded with tourists seems like a plus.
Nice Shinkansen Hiroshima and Fukuoka travel video! "Not a morning person" 🙌😂 Enjoyed Fancy hotel tour and Food looks great too. Tks for the good travel tips and information too 👍
Hello Rion! So strange the Sakura shinkansen didnt stop at Hiroshima, i thought ALL shinkansen stopped at Hiroshima LOL ~ Well, technically, Sakura is Sanyo/ Kyushu shinkansen while Nozomi is Tokaido/ Sanyo shinkansen, so there is some difference ~ The blue shinkansen was the 500 series Kodama shinkansen! It used to be the Nozomi shinkansen that ran at world's fastest speed at 300 km/h back in 1997. It's also my fav shinkansen, and the Hello Kitty is the V2 version of this train! :) Love your videos! Say.... No.... GGGAAOOOO!!
It was so cool to explore the beautiful Hiroshima Castle, the grounds, and moats surrounding it. Your meals in Hiroshima and Hakata hotels looks😊 delicious. It was interesting to see the towering bookshelves in Hakata hotel for just photo opt or for gaining some additional knowledge?😊 Let's keep "biking" around the city.
Love your travels ... especially how to get around. Will be back in Japan 2024, so all of this helps. I am a vegan, so your eating is "fast forward". Thanks for the fun ... eat more vegetables!
Rion, it was nice meeting you at Miyajima. Japan is such a beautiful place. Unfortunately we didn't got a chance to do a food tour in Hiroshima because of time constraint. But we did enjoyed and loved Japan. Will be back!
Great video! I'm going back to Japan soon and will stop by Kyushu when I'm in Osaka. 19000 Yen for a night is pretty cheap compared to the price I had paid for most of my hotel stays. The sounds you heard while you were staying at the hotel were from a female Ghost! She was peaking on you....hahaha As always, keep up the great work. Let's keep walking!
Glad to see another travel and hotel vlog! Hope you are feeling better, it's hard to travel with stomach issues! Also, I think you forgot the introduction GAO this video! lol
Do they have "Jumping Salad" in Japan aside from sashini and sushi? Jumping Salad in the Northern part of Luzon Island in the Philippines consist of chopped onions and tomatoes, vinegar, fresh seaweed and live small shrimps, so basically they are still alive and jumping while its in your mouth... great meal with beer 😂
Thank you so much for making these videos, Rion! I always enjoy watching your adventures around Japan😊 Also, sorry to hear about your poor stomach🥲 Maybe you can try some 制酸薬 or some ginger next time?
thank you for this video. During my summer July holidays in Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka, I should have made time for Hiroshima but... fact was I didn't have much time because the places I was visiting was not even enough time to do so. hahaha... Anyways it is good I should have put some time away for other places instead of traveling back to the same cities for new discoveries (well what do we say, especially it was some 21 years later... of course there are definitely more things to find out for me. Anyways speaking about your tummy ache with raw foods, I do get that sometimes. I thought it would be okay when I was in Japan this summer because Japan has fresher and and treated raw food better/more professionally. At a restaurant I had given advance notice that I do not take beef, so the restaurant did plan everything to my liking however I forgot about having raw foods because well, I was in Japan! Anyways it was no that much because it was a few courses of lunch and mixed of fusion and Japanese style. But after a few hours later while I was shopping, I really had to find and make my way for ladies restroom. Before that, I had bad tummy ache while still in a long tax-refund queue before reaching the cashiers. I was carrying a basket of things and was deciding very hard whether to give up my spot for restroom. You can imagine what "agony" and prayers I had been going through... thankfully all was well. I was able to get to the tax-refund cashier (a German speaking Japanese!) and did my payment and quickly went for a restroom. I carry medication as precaution to take before the day if I am traveling out full day or going to have some unknown or raw foods, that medicine helps to prevent upset tummy, diarrhea or caused by unclean foods or waters. I had forgotten to take one that day. It is called "dhamotil" and is a over the counter drug. You may wish to check out with your pharmacist or doctor if you are able to have it. Sorry for the long comment here. I really enjoy your videos with places and food recommendations. Keep it up Rion and let's all keep on walking !
You might just have a hard time digesting undercooked meat. I don’t know if you can find digestive enzymes easily in Japan. There’s different types for what you need help digesting. Lipase for digesting fats, amylase for carbohydrates, and protease for protein (meats). Look for something that says “papaya enzyme” that would be targeting proteins, but often times it contains all types of enzymes together to help with digestion. It’s either a capsule pill or chewable tablet that you take after the meal.
If you eat rawer meat and can’t handle it I highly recommend using high amounts of spicy stuff to accompany. It sounds strange but you have a good chance of killing bacteria if you add horseradish or chili , you might wanna try that out
Thank you for showing us accommodation options throughout your westward journey 😎 Q: For the room you stayed in, does the price double if two ppl stayed in it? 🤔 I heard hotel price in Japan is also based on number of ppl. Hi rion. That second budget hotel looked great. But did you ever find out what was makeing the constant mystery noise. Lol lucky you found the main switch for the light in the bathroom. I have a question regarding the restaurants in Japan. As I am not an Japanese I don't use chopsticks. Does the restaurants give you spoon and fork for eating.
It's a hotel apparently, but the building is Post-Modern architecture... I wonder if it was an office building previously that was converted or perhaps this is Post-Modernism revival, which would make it even more unique! It looks beautiful and very original!
Hii which app did you use to book the shinkansen ticket? Also I have a question about picking up the ticket.. since I am planning to go to Kyoto and then travel from Himeji to Nagasaki via Shinkansen, and I want to buy the northern kyusu pass.. Can I pick up the pass at Kyoto JR station? Thanks~~
