It looks damn good aqnd cheap. Id be doing this conversion using this guys tutorial. now off to the bike junkyard and ace. Thanks for sharing bro. Keep on drumming!
Genius idea! Another method could be to bolt some sort of splint against the chain instead to stop it flopping around, essentially making it a direct drive
While I appreciate the idea to try to solve this (it’s in fact really smart, imho), a thing I must say: these parts that you are reusing are not made for that kind of work, doesn’t have bearing and probably will wears off quickly, really quickly. At least lubricate them to make them last longer. Keep up innovating!
@@ncimson5318 at 8:10 when the footboard moves up, there is slack created due to the linkage. I own czarcie kopyto and axis pedals, neither of them work that way
Me gusta mucho tu invento, pero eso estaria bien para un pedal medio decente, pues ese pedal es bastante malo y no merece la pena reformarlo, pero me quedo con la idea,(muy buena).
This was cool but you didn't show it in action. The video was cool and all at first but very disappointing in the end. I don't like to assume that it works, i wanted to see it and hear it with my own ears and eyes. I thought you where going to showcase it in action at the very end. Even though i dont like to assume but you not showing it action tells me that it must of broke easily and immediately upon playing.
Amazing video. In the thumbnail, you show the offset double pedal. Do you use that pedal? I clicked on this as they sell a conversion kit for that but it's terrible.
Neat idea, but considering some pedals cough axis cough are known to snap the drive link, I dont know how practical this is considering they are solid machined parts. I could definitely see those threads tearing out after a few weeks. Just not worth the time or money imo
@@nano-pz1vk i already brought 4 quick clamps but haven't build it yet because of my concern i do swivel because i play in a death metal band and still working it out if it will last for a long time but it's worth a try i have a friend who's profession is mechanist he told me your idea is very solid even though simple and improvised 🍻🤘❤️
STOP WITH THE GODDAMN GUESSING GAME !!!!!!! START....... by showing the before and after....... don’t make us keep track while you one hand the damn build because you can’t remember where you left your camera stand. Good conversion ???? Maybe.... but I don’t have time for horse sit production
This isn't a good way to make a "direct drive" and the reason why is be cause it's supposed to be as direct as possible so when you push on the pedal, it should be a direct response, but for this, it might not even be the same, and it doesn't help that he didn't show the pedal in action. Second I think this is just a "cheap" way to improve your pedal, but in reality it's not, you'll have to buy the clamps and the nut, cut the screws to an unknown size because that wasn't specified, and get lucky that both screws will be exactly aligned with each other to put it on the pedal. Honestly, don't waste your time and effort, but buy a conversion kit for the pedal, or even just buy a new one. Gibraltar has a direct drive pedal for like $70. In the end don't waste your time, be smart and don't do this.
Hello, if you can buy a new direct drive it is very good. I just did it, because mine broke the chain. There is no point in making a video work because it is best to test it to feel the effect. This is a good method, for those with little money like me. Of course, it takes some technique to build.
Great idea and well executed! I’ve always said drummers are the most inventive people out there!!!
I designed and 3d printed one from scratch. So far it has been holding up great. You can check it out on my channel, let me know your thoughts!
Now I gotta go steal some kid's scooter out of his yard. This is great! Thanks man 😊 I'll keep you posted on my progress.

A lot more simple than the other one I saw. The other one literally was more difficult than building a pedal from scratch
simple and functional so far. 8 months of use.
@@nano-pz1vk give us an update? im willing to try this on a speed cobra

Hi im from the Philippines i just want you to know that Im very thankful for this brilliant idea you've shared to us drummers this idea helps me a lot
Thank you bro.
You're always welcome
Not bad! I think you should use locknuts, however, to attach the pedal.
This is really cool. going to expirement with this on my single pedal, and if I like it, i'll do it to my double pedal.
What size of your coupling nut and seat post clamp
Straight up genius level right here.

Great improv and resourcefulness but I'm sceptical of how long the rig will last
The real question is, is it really smoother and faster then original chain with this home made direct drive modification?
What size is the coupler nuts?
Congratulations, I greet you from Colombia 🇨🇴
Thanks, it's very cheap to make One. Mine remains funcional.
Impressive! Congrats 👏🏼
very nice and I like it..I'll tried my Drum Pedal too (sorry for my english spelling) lack of my language
Good Luck,🤞
thanks for great idea. Does anyone try it? any better?
does the feeling and speed change a lot?
The important question here is.... is the linkage noisy?
Genius!! i will try on my pedal!! Thanks for the idea lml
thanks, if you need help, ask!!!
its a cool idea but a direct drive doesn't collapse in the middle like that, since it collapses it'll feel more like a chain pedal
Whys collapsing in the middle? If you look at the store bought one its the same as far as where it bends and his invention is even adjustable

Hi, i think so. This just changes the original chain. Good Luck

Hi, i use a single pedal, but you can use a double pedal. I think its the same thing.
Ball bearings in the direct drive parts? Metal on metal is going to develop play, friction and noise in no time.
