This is a game I'd often faintly remember and think about. I could never quite get the name, but today I finally had incentive to figure out what game this was. I loved this game.
It might have moderate success on PSN due to the reviving interest in 3D Platformers. Be sure to buy Psychonauts and Ape Escape 2 on PS4 to help send the message home that there is an audience for these types of games. It could potentially increase the chances of Kya being resurrected.

I'm glad to see Kya still has interest from the players! It's an unknown game and it should be more known! It definitely deserved more than one game too! I don't want to sound preachy or advertisy.. but I think if everyone can get on the KDL wiki and join KDL groups on facebook.. we can all put our heads together and see if we can do anything to get us some recognition of this classic game, and maybe even get a sequel!

Well, I think not everything needs a sequel. Simply remembering Kya, and keeping the............ disk image floating around, so new gamers could play, is plenty enough.

A shame we don't see games like this anymore due to the market changing to a point where you're either indie or a AAA developer. Very little in between now and we have less alternatives than ever as a result.

I bought this back in 2004 didn't play it for a year or so never tried it. My mom bought due to the fact that my sisters name is kya. Best choice she made for me thank you mom

I completed the whole game before i was 8 years old. Most difficult was the akon before the last boss imo. I remember trying the fight for soo long while my parents were talking lol

Hey. Could you please help me? When i play kya dark lineage on this emulator the graphics are very creapy. The shadows are annoying. Wether with ISO or disc its always the same problem. Could you please send me your graphic settings? Or do you know what could be the problem? My Hardware: -CPU AMD Fx 8350 Octa Core 4 GhZ -RAM 16 GB -GPU MSI Gtx 970 4G OC -Windows 7 64 Bit
It's only the beginning of the game. There's quite a lot to it: the wind-related mechanics such as being pushed against the wall by a rotating fan to cross a chasm, free-falling and maintaining a certain altitude in wind tunnels, and there's two different kinds of dinosaur/kangaroo-like animals to ride and a pretty solid Brawler-like combat system that opens up more the more upgrades you collect.. Might not be everyone's cup of tea in that regard, but for what my word is worth as a stranger on the internet, it's still an interesting game to check out further.

Such an underrated game, it almost seems like big reviewers at the time were sweeping Kya under the rug. Hopefully it's remade someday.

Heres an update, the developers are back just 9 hours ago. they are posting Kya related stuff on facebook.
