Doc does a helluva job describing 3/4 on Op. Hastings, especially the super effort of breaking out of that river bottom with their bodies in tow. Also 400, 412, 484. Good book.

Why is there only episode 7 but not episode 6? It is a very precious and valuable historical video documentary.

Respectful Advice: 3rd of the 4th would be army terminology. For USMC it's a simple three, four. K 3/4. .... Kilo Company, 3rd battalion, 4 Marine Regiment. 3rd MarDiv consists of regiments 3,4,9 Okinawa.

3/4 was originally stationed on Oahu at the base on the North side of that island with an airwing attached. We shipped out by boat in the spring of 1965 and arrived at vacant barracks in Camp Hanson on Okinawa. The 4th and 9th regiments were already on their way to Da Nang. 3/4 shipped out of Okinawa after just a few weeks and took landing craft up the Perfume River to Hue, and then trucks to just outside the Phu Bai airport. We put up canvas tents and constucted a base there. On our first nights we did not even have barbed wire.

You know during the Vietnam War there were a lot case of US ground troops commit a lot of attrocities toward many South Vietnamese villagers during their "Search and Destroy Mission." Many were never reported and a lot was being covered up by US General William Childs Westmoreland. There were many US ground troops saw the attrocities done by their fellow American troops and did nothing. While other participate. Vietnamese peoples were the victim of the Vietnam War. Even though many Vietnamese didn't start the War and didn't ask for it. That was the decision by the American peoples who voted for Democrats President JF Kennedy and LB Johnson as their Commander in Chief for their country. And Democrats President Truman who brought Communist support to Vietnam by allowing and supporting France to reclaim Vietnam as their colony. A country who value their freedom and independence from England. Deny other country of their own. America has never a democracy country. America is a Republic.
