definitely decent sound for a cheaper end microphone, being a simple 3.5 mm jack to makes life fairly easy in case something happens to the stock cord! nice review good sir
I'm finally going to end my build this Friday, and i want to say thanks men, your videos helped me a lot to understand things about pc, finally i would have the opportunity to crank up the settings to ultra at 2K, your channel is awesome keep the good work
provides very good quality sound, using for 4 months now, only downside is its not as sturdy, broke shock absorbing plastic 3 times & kept repairing it
I love the reviews and videos of aspects of technology that im not involved with or experienced with, as a tech enthusiast in the general sense i love being educated and entertained by topics im not knowledgeable about.
The quality you lose by being farther away is more about the room though, at least the echo, so a more padded room will have less of it. Good video and review as usual :)
Did you know that Premiere can sync up the audio between different sources for you? All you have to do is select only the audio from the cameras video file (by alt + clicking the audio part in the timeline) and then shift + click the audio you want to sync with it. Next you right click and select synchronize.
I have this mic and im dissapointed not at the mic but at canon becaouse i can use it with the jack straight to the camera becaouse CANON PRE AMPS ARE HORRIBLE FULL OF NOISE
Yes you can use an external recorder or tune in post but aint the point of this mic do that and canon being the almost first choice for vloggers/RUclips its a shame that they neglect such basic thing as audio quality
How come you don't use the autosync feature in Premiere? It makes it super simple with it to do dual system audio. Still, the Micro is awesome (especially for Panasonic and Sony cameras).
Are you using DAC or have you used one before? Maybe you can do a review / thoughts about DACs and their advantages vs. internal PCI(e) sound card and even integrated one.
Awesome video, my Sony rx100 iii censor just broke and I’m gonna use my iPhone X to vlog. Will this work for the X, I know I’ll have to use the lighting cable adapter ?
Could i use this for playing videogames and or streaming ? Of course i would need a 3.5mm jack upgrade for the lenght. If yes, take this over the blue yeti ?
What microphone do you recommend for portable use? I mainly use mine in the car to let good looking ladies know that i will be back to pick them up later.
Royal of course it would work, but does your pc have a coldshoe mount and does your room have audio treatment? Think about mounting.. Furthermore it doesn't have power in so you will be burning batteries. Use a USB mic ffs or a Phantom powered xlr mic with a preamp.
I would like to know how you chose your mixer. I'm looking for a mic & mixer to get, but I'm not very specialized. I want to do voice over stuff, and entertain friends in Discord. Does anyone know of a jack-of-all trades solution for around $100? Currently, I have a Modmic 4.0 unidirectional. I get complaints on occasion because Windows will reset my mic volume and make it screech when I speak.
Unfortunately I have a Sony a6000, which doesn't have an external mic port. I know you can sync up audio, but with how I shoot, I just run and gun. Are there any other ways for me to get a microphone for my camera (like by modding or something of that sort) that isn't from Sony itself, since their microphone selection is terrible?
The Salami lol no you can’t. You have to have a 3.5mm jack input. Unless there is a micro usb you might be able to use an adapter like how a GoPro would be set up.
you can always record your audio separately. Look into Zoom recorders like the Zoom H1. This has been recently discontinued so its pretty cheap. Look on Ebay for some nice deals.
Mic needs a better placement and your room seems to need some serious treatment. None of the mics sound particularly good to be frank (of course much better than any built-in microphone still). The Movo/Boya version of this mic, and any powered microphone including the Takstar, blow the VideoMicro out of the water any day, but microphones will always be limited by their surroundings, and quite audibly so in this case.
Thanks, helpful vídeo, idk if was u, but i find a player on Black Ops 3 on pc called: Salazar Studio YT, i guess or without YT i can't remember better.
I had to spend a lot of money on other more immediately required stuff, so I'm still stuck with "that lapel microphone I got from e-dump" and "that 4mm microphone in that crappy webcam from 2011". ;_;
Dude. The 50 dollar one sounds better to me than the xlr. Sure you can hear some room ambience on the cheaper but it sounds natural. The xlr makes you sound like you're nasal and congested in this video anyhow.
Don't bother ... the preamps of the 600d are so awful (noisy as hell), not even the Rode can produce decent soundquality. Ok, the Videomic PRO is working (it has an internal volume-boost (+20dB) so you can ramp up the rode preamp and turn down the canon ones, then the results are quite ok ) but it costs more ...
Hey guys! Tonight's my senior prom so I was wondering what kinda suggestions my fellow nerds would have for me to optimise the amount of fun I have? I hope y'all have a great weekend!
At least the G85 has decent in build AMP's If your DSLR/System camera doesn't has a good clean AMP well.. welcome to Hiss Valley. Still, $50, ... there is a lot worse.
I'm really conflicted about your content. On one hand you have interesting tech stuff to share (not always in my eyes, but that's beside the point) on the other, you provoke me intensely every time you finish with. "... thumbs down for the opposite *or if you hate everything about life* ". What's up with that?? Why not stop before that last part (about hating everything)? Have you run into so much crap/toxicity making RUclips that you consider a viewer watching your content to the end being so negative that you feel that the "option" should be there side by side with not agreeing (or whatever) and thus the viewer is giving you a thumbs down cuz the person "hates everything"?? Or do you just find it "funny"? I'm baffled!! And just be clear: I'm NOT a hater. If I don't like ,or even dislike, some random thing like a RUclips video, I look the other way, change channel or, like in this case, try to express my point of view. Even if it's not in my native language. So I just hope you'll stop encourage/justify a Dislike/Thumbs Down by stating "... if you hate everything about life" cuz you are NOT helping. People that just hit "thumbs down" and move on to the next video, often repeating them selves, without leaving a comment are often the same that just want to things BURN cuz they are in bad place and can't find any other outlet or help. Those people need help... not "encouragement or justification" - and that's what you give in form of that last part of your finishing sentence. Wow this became way longer than intended, but if just one person that reads this & gets the point it has been worth it ;-) P.S. The point is: Be positive!! Too much good is already being "burned" in our paradise of a planet... Don't help the *negativity* along even if is meant as a form of a joke. Negativity has too much momentum already from misinformed people ect.
I hate everything about life, and your comment did way worse than anything Greg has ever said.. God forbid he actually stops his unique outro because of your comment
VideoMicro's are the best! We have a few of them.
Made in Australia. Just like us!
Is it just me or does the micro sound better than the xlr
No0by I have to agree LOL very confusing (listening on a phone though idk maybe that's why)
No0by I think it's just louder
I agree
its just you
I got this microphone through amazon warehouse deals for 20$ in Very Good conditions and so far, not disappointed.
definitely decent sound for a cheaper end microphone, being a simple 3.5 mm jack to makes life fairly easy in case something happens to the stock cord! nice review good sir
Thanks for watching!
Science Studio always do as soon as i see a new vid, keep up the stellar content my man
Can we use this like a blue snowball?
I knew this particular model before, but nice to see the tests, samples and comparisons, nice vid
I'm finally going to end my build this Friday, and i want to say thanks men, your videos helped me a lot to understand things about pc, finally i would have the opportunity to crank up the settings to ultra at 2K, your channel is awesome keep the good work
I appreciate it!

Just bought one few days ago nice review!
Love the sound of the rode mic 👍👍👍
Great video! We absolutely love the VideoMicro too 😄
I love the reviews and videos of aspects of technology that im not involved with or experienced with, as a tech enthusiast in the general sense i love being educated and entertained by topics im not knowledgeable about.
Thanks for watching, Corey!
Honestly I think the Rode mic sounds a bit clearer for your voice, but the XLR one has better noise isolation.
I don't even know why I became so damn inactive ... Liked your vids since this channel was called Salazar studio
Did Savage Studio just heart my comment? o.O
Tyrion yes
Tyrion samme here man
I’ve been using their Lav+ for about a year now. Great mic!
I have this mic on top of my Panasonic G85 camera and its a great combo that I use a lot for my videos. Good choice!
The quality you lose by being farther away is more about the room though, at least the echo, so a more padded room will have less of it. Good video and review as usual :)

Yep, a big reason I went with Panasonic instead. Not the best preamps, but leaps and bounds better than those in most Canons.
Alexis Veron make corrections in post production mah dood.
You can get an irig for fixing canon preamps
Alexis Veron i feel you i have an olympus and can't use the mic because of the insane static
Yes you can use an external recorder or tune in post but aint the point of this mic do that and canon being the almost first choice for vloggers/RUclips its a shame that they neglect such basic thing as audio quality
Finally a lively intro!
That flare in the middle of the shot is really annoying, but nice topic tough. More budget oriented videos !
Yeah sorry, I really shouldn't have kept the blinds open behind me.
would it be better to go up to the video mic pro compared to the micro?
How come you don't use the autosync feature in Premiere? It makes it super simple with it to do dual system audio. Still, the Micro is awesome (especially for Panasonic and Sony cameras).

yess love it...i have this mic!!
That mic sound so good👍
I bought one of those w while back to use for vlogging.. the only problem is I haven’t done much vlogging.. 🤪
Could i use this for playing videogames and or streaming ? Of course i would need a 3.5mm jack upgrade for the lenght. If yes, take this over the blue yeti ?
The question is: Would you recommend this over the VideoMic Go?
Can I use this for gaming
Im searching for a mic for my Huawei Mate9, i do some videos but when the wind hits, you can no hear me and the audio is horrible
Would this work with a cellphone? or the amps in the cellphone aren't enough to power it up
What microphone do you recommend for portable use? I mainly use mine in the car to let good looking ladies know that i will be back to pick them up later.
I have the samson go mic is this a worthy upgrade?
Thanks for the heads up on this. Anyone who's tried finding a decent mic will know just what pieces of crap most of the cheap ones out there are.
Did you know that Adobe Premiere has a feature, which lets you automatically sync audio tracks with the video?
I have this mic and I just add a little bass when I'm editing
@Science studio Could you please review Audio Technica ATR 2100? I don't have a recording studio and don't want to go for a condenser mic.
This is awesome sauce stuff more reviews like this please lol
Random question, would this work on a PC or what would be a good option?
Jacketedcorn asking the real questions here.
this is specifically to mount on a camera, so no. Depends on what your room is like and what you gonna record.
Alexander Mustermann no , it will work , if ur pc have an audio in jack , or use a splitter if you dont have it
Royal of course it would work, but does your pc have a coldshoe mount and does your room have audio treatment? Think about mounting.. Furthermore it doesn't have power in so you will be burning batteries. Use a USB mic ffs or a Phantom powered xlr mic with a preamp.
The Movo VXR10 is pretty much the same mic for $40, guys! In fact, the VXR10 is a bit louder, so you can be just a bit farther away.
I would like to know how you chose your mixer.
I'm looking for a mic & mixer to get, but I'm not very specialized. I want to do voice over stuff, and entertain friends in Discord.
Does anyone know of a jack-of-all trades solution for around $100?

Adobe Premiere has a sync Feature

The Salami lol no you can’t. You have to have a 3.5mm jack input. Unless there is a micro usb you might be able to use an adapter like how a GoPro would be set up.
It might just be cheaper to sell your a6000 and move up to something like an a6300 or a6500.
Yeah. Unfortunately I don't have the money for that right now.
The Salami or just get a video mic me and plug it to ur smartphone and sync it in post a bit more work but it is worth it
you can always record your audio separately. Look into Zoom recorders like the Zoom H1. This has been recently discontinued so its pretty cheap. Look on Ebay for some nice deals.
Will this microphone work on an Android phone? (I have the LG G6)
This vs blue snow ball and yeti?
Mic needs a better placement and your room seems to need some serious treatment. None of the mics sound particularly good to be frank (of course much better than any built-in microphone still). The Movo/Boya version of this mic, and any powered microphone including the Takstar, blow the VideoMicro out of the water any day, but microphones will always be limited by their surroundings, and quite audibly so in this case.
the rode seems a lil brighter sounding but with a lil more room tone
I think it sounds clearer than your behringer
What keyboard is that?
So is it about the same as the videomic me? They look similar to me but I can’t seem to find a legit review
Yes they are the same mic. The Micro is for more on top of cameras and the MicMe is for phones.
I hear quite a bit of noise with the Rode mic
Huh. That seems like not just a good CC mic, but a good "my headphones don't come with a mic and I need one" mic.
the Rode sound more "voiced" and in the Behringer u sound with more base ! XD, btw i have 5.1 audio set
Mine gives an unstable low volume. Whats with that?
Greg you should close the curtain, it is so overexposed
What do you think about this Rode Mic as a desktop / gaming mic?
Thumbnail looks like smg compensator from pubg
Rode FTW!
bro, i have the same audio setup that you do so i think im doin alright hahaha
Would this work on a Pixel 2 (using the dongle)
It would, just make sure you use a TRS-TRRS converter.
Science Studio Awesome! Time to start my RUclips career
Daniel Nicolas you can also get the Rose VideomicMe. It’s the same mic just made for mobile phones. It plugs straight in.
Joshuah Smith that plugs into the headphone jack, which is absent on the pixel 2/2xl
nooooooooooooo. use Multicam in premiere to sync audio in a few seconds!!!! plz
Thanks, helpful vídeo, idk if was u, but i find a player on Black Ops 3 on pc called: Salazar Studio YT, i guess or without YT i can't remember better.
Donie Crick yeah, he plays from time to time. I saw him one time and everyone was arguing about their YT channels, lol. It was funny.
TERABITDEFIANCE Thanks, i ask, cuz may be was another person, cuz u can put the id what u want.
I think its him. He also shows black ops footage sometimes
TERABITDEFIANCE Oh right, thanks for reply.
I had to spend a lot of money on other more immediately required stuff, so I'm still stuck with "that lapel microphone I got from e-dump" and "that 4mm microphone in that crappy webcam from 2011". ;_;
The t-star sounds better in my opinion but the rode is a comparable good mic
i'll buy it
Great little mic! I use it with my GoPro.
luKe Ooh perfect. I was looking at this to do that.
Dude. The 50 dollar one sounds better to me than the xlr. Sure you can hear some room ambience on the cheaper but it sounds natural. The xlr makes you sound like you're nasal and congested in this video anyhow.
Looking into improving my audio, anyone using a at2020 with a scarlett solo?
Is it an outdoors mic?
The dead cat helps outdoors.
Science Studio oh right I might buy it
The wind sock it comes with should make it usable outside. There are videos on RUclips demonstrating it.
Penryn ah right. I want to pair it with a canon 600d hopefully I can do it
Don't bother ... the preamps of the 600d are so awful (noisy as hell), not even the Rode can produce decent soundquality.
Ok, the Videomic PRO is working (it has an internal volume-boost (+20dB) so you can ramp up the rode preamp and turn down the canon ones, then the results are quite ok ) but it costs more ...
I didn't notice any difference on mobile
Hey guys!
Tonight's my senior prom so I was wondering what kinda suggestions my fellow nerds would have for me to optimise the amount of fun I have?
I hope y'all have a great weekend!
Wear a condom, you dont want to get stuck with a woman for the rest of your life.
Microphone.. more than £10.. are any of them worth it for youtube videos?
There is noise in the video play back with that Rode mic
personally don't like the sound. I guess it's ok for the price, but could be crisper in the highs and muffle less.
Thumbnail Rifle scope
the B1 Xlr sound nazely
It's a bit far away for an XLR mic, but I wanted to keep the distances equal.
At least the G85 has decent in build AMP's
If your DSLR/System camera doesn't has a good clean AMP well.. welcome to Hiss Valley.
Still, $50, ... there is a lot worse.
Good Review 😂😂😂
I bought a new one after this review and it broke :((
The røde onesly sounds better.
imo the videomicro sounds far better than your xlr
I know you're running out of ideas but make more videos like this.
I'm not running out of ideas? Lol...
Science Studio I'm just messing around great video. 😂
Are those new teeth? I think I'm detecting a bit of a lisp... might be wrong :D
Chola Tech might be the mic but it is noticeable
dont know how people can use mics when its their right up in their faces
Wow
damn your lighting fucked up in this video so hard :D
Where's the beard...
Nobody reads sennheiser as cenheiser omg!
Notification squad
I have this mic and love it. All the audio in this video uses that mic with my gopro. ruclips.net/video/keIEW-xBLTI/видео.html
na its trash. bluesnowball better
