Even my mother language is Spanish, your videos are so clear for me and your way to teach so motivating, that I beg you to continue. On the other hand I would like to ask you where to find Dutch listening material like the one you showed in the video "Boost your listening skills"
I love your teaching method, but sometimes I forget the lesson because your so pretty. I'm going to Amsterdam next week, can try out what I've learned. 😊
Currently, I'm learning Dutch. I love your clear explanations. It's very helpful. Could you explain more about Dutch prepositions in many cases? Thanks you very much again
Hoi Ervan, dankjewel! Dat is goed om te horen. :) Ik heb een document over preposities op mijn webpagina met gratis studiemateriaal op www.cleardutch.nl (Lessons > Free Materials)
Hoi Saleh, bedankt! Ik zal hier later nog een video over maken. Voor nu vind je een korte uitleg in mijn reactie op Marcus Llemes. Ik hoop dat het helpt!
Hey Ilka, thanks for this video. I have been following your videos. Why we have double "t" in printte, as i remember from you video on STAM formation we never use double ?
Praten just follows the same rules as all other regular verbs. The only difference is that you cannot say "gepraatt" but it is "gepraat". Why? It is complicated, but it has to do with the rules in Dutch between written Dutch and how you pronounce it. That is also the reason that the stam is not "prat". In the imperfectum praten is completely regular, so stam +te (praat+te).
Hoi Pragya, goede vraag! The rule for Dutch spelling is: Two of the same consonants at the END of words don't exist. But here we use the stam 'heet' and then we add the letters 'te', so it becomes: HEETte ;) Hope this helps!
Hi Ilka. This video was very good until the very end. I was confused by the fact that you suggested afdrukken and meenemen then used different verbs. I'm easily confused!! Thank you anyway.
Yes, that is exactly what I do ;) online, private Dutch lessons. At the moment I have a waiting list. You can find more info on my website www.cleardutch.nl

@@cleardutchgrammar8904 Please do you have any website you could recommend. Just came across your channel today. You are a good teacher. If you use Hij and Je with brachten or namen, how will the sentences be formulated?

Uitleggen = to explain (We use this word a lot.) "De docent legt de grammatica uit." Verklaren = to elucidate/account for (Less common in the meaning of 'explain', usually requires a justification) "Kunt u verklaren hoe die drugs in uw koffer terecht zijn gekomen?"
The word uitnodigen becomes uitnodigd. Removing the en -> uitnodig. Why doesn't it become uitnodiig? Since the last letter is a constant and i is the vowel - why don't we double the i? My mind is hurting me!
Thank you for your question! The letter i doesn't have a double version, so in Dutch the diftong 'ii' does simply not exist. ;) It is the only vowel that you can't double. Hope this helps. The past participle of uitnodigen is 'uitgenodigd'. ;)
Dear Ilka, thanks a lot for the lesson. Appreciate it so much.
Loved the class. Very clear explanations.
Your explanation is very clear👍& very helpful. Please do more videos.

Is there a meaning difference between verklaren and uitleggen?
Uitleggen = to explain
