Great to have you back, Paul. I use two buckets with grit guards, one for wheels, one for the body. I always prewash with snowfoam, so I don't think the 3 bucket method is necessary, but very happy for others to disagree and do otherwise. I'm happy to use a standard clay bar, but will use infrequently, e.g. every year. Cheers for now 👍
Wow! There is something very special about old single-stage paint when it is revitalised... Red in particular. It just comes back to life in an amazing way... Great transformation Paul. Very nice upload.
A car that is still as beautiful today as it was back in 1985, a great turnaround. Talking about Christmas more please Paul and have safe travels to Oz and a great holiday.

PAUL, Greetings from the States, I'm glad your back, missed your Whitt & Charm! For strip washing, I only use one bucket. As far as claying, I use the Clay Scrubber, however, I clay & use iron remover at the same time. My third stage of decon. is to use mineral remover. I am using a true ceramic coating on my car, not a spray. Like your area, temperatures here are below freezing, but I have a garage. Very Nice Job!
Lovely job on the 5 series Paul,the best era of BMW imo. One bucket here with Bilt Hamber touchless as a prewash is unbeatable. I've got a clay cloth to try from Maxshine.

Great job pal, I still enjoy watching your videos until the end as a fan and what a job you did, this looked awesome. The main reason flex pads are firmer is they are related to German paint that is renowned for being harder to cut so it links up perfectly, single stage paint is renowned for absorbing polishing oils and so mixing some finishing polish to your heavy cut compound 1:1 will help. Was chatting with t'other Paul this week and said whilst I'm not a BMW fan this is a stunning car. He's also done a video I watched last night on his channel. Good advice on polishing, I know I'm a swine for trying to do bigger sections rather than as you said. Must make life easier if I did it your route. Also did you catch your hand dressing the tyres with not using rim mats ? Nice to see you back dear, you southern softies get it warmer than us further North. I'm only mid way and it's bad. God knows how them in skirts up in Scotland go on.

Personally, I'd much rather buy Garage Therapy than Chemical Guys, because it is UK rather than USA focused. They might produce fewer products but the quality is excellent and they improve them regularly. It's a shame that Slim's doesn't stock them.

I think their snow foam is as good, if not better, than Bilt Hamber's Autofoam and Touchless, which is very high praise. I've ordered from Slim's over the years and would be delighted to get GT from them if they do choose to stock it.
Can you help paul?. My mk 5 golf gti has been wax oiled underneath and there is oily over spray all over the paintwork! Would it best to clay it? Tar remover? Any advice please 🙏
@PaulDoldenDetails g101 and a full can of turtle wax tar and glue remover did it paul! Impressed with the turtle wax stuff! My panels are all dead now. Thanks so much again paul. Love the videos.

The car looks great Paul good job, though i would have removed the number plates before hand, they must trap a lot of dirt and water creating rust problems in the future. Plus polishing an old red car must be a nightmare, all that dead flat paint coming off onto the pads. I remember you did an old red Merc a while ago what a nightmare.😢

I have a Sony Walkman somewhere which is real techy for me born in 67!! Still got all my original joints though and still enjoy keeping my cars clean , been doing it since the mid eighties!

I use my pressure washer blast them out then spin them up on the rotary over a bucket
