Probably the first time to have heard someone NOT butchering our names and names of places. I imagine if I was the one to have created such video I would do everything in my power to be prepared to say words the way the locals do.

Hi Steve! I should be preparing to take out our first Polish & Eastern Europe trips for 2022... but Putin has delayed our start date for the time being. So I'm off to Italy next week for work, will be at the Vatican on Easter Sunday for the Papal audience. Wishing you and Ro a wonderful blessed Easter. All the best from Poland!

Hi there, enjoyed your Kraków video thank you. I’ve actually been on an Insight tour many years ago too!! Lots of fun! Quick query, seeing you are obviously an experienced traveller too. One thing I am wary of is slipping over in the black ice and snow when it has only just begun to fall. Do you have any tips- do folk who live in cold countries develop a special way of walking so that they protect themselves from slipping!! I know it’s a basic weird question, but I can’t think of anything worse than hurting yourself while travelling, so thought I’d ask if you have any inside info on self preservation!! Lol!! Are ice cleats on your shoes worth it, or are they just as dangerous when navigating different surfaces?! Merry Christmas from Australia, cheers,
    Marg

HI Marg, great to hear from you. I'm glad you enjoyed my film. It certainly can be tricky walking around during the winter. A lot of the time in Krakow there really isn't a problem as there is a lot of foot traffic, and there doesn't tend to be too much snow and ice on the ground. But where I live a little further south of Krakow, in a village in the mountains, it can be very tricky. Right at the moment we have quite a bit of slippery ice on the hard surfaces around the house. We know what it looks like, so usually can walk around it. If it's unavoidable and has to be walked over, we tend to slide or shuffle our feet as if we have skis on. Needless to say everybody has good winter boots with soles that are suited to the conditions, but we never use cleats. Have a great New Year!

@@OnceUponaTimeInKrakow Thanks so much for your helpful reply! I have good leather shoes which are great as they are waterproof and warm, but not sure if the soles would be the best. What do you advise as the best soles please? I’m so excited about visiting hopefully next year! You are so lucky to live in such an amazing country! Enjoy and safe travels! Thanks again!

@@margsangster8994 Hi Marg, the shoes should have a good, thick, tread on the bottom, made for the winter conditions. No flat soled shoes. flat soles, like those on dress shoes, are the ones which cause most problems on the ice. Happy New Year!
