2022 Pūlama Mauli Ola

Pūlama Mauli Ola is an annual event held on the campus of Ke Kula ʻo Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu, that brings together ʻohana from Nāwahī, Pūnana Leo o Hilo and Ka Haka ʻUla o Keʻelikōlani, to celebrate this collective’s commitment to perpetuating a living ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi and cherishing our mauli ola Hawaiʻi, our unique Hawaiian life force.
Despite the ongoing challenges COVID has presented, Pūlama Mauil Ola is still a go for 2022!! With a desire to continue the celebration but keep our ʻohana safe, we invite you to join us virtually on Saturday, February 19, 2022, via the live stream from 9:00a - 12:00p.
There will be a great lineup of live entertainment, as well as presentations by haumāna from Pūnana Leo o Hilo, Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu - including ʻohana from Māʻilikūkahi and Alo Kēhau o ka ʻĀina Mauna - as well as Ka Haka ʻUla o Keʻelikōlani. I'm so sadden yet so happy and proud of this up coming Generation keeping our culture and learning young. 🌺💯💪🙏🤙see being raised on the mainland you won't get none of this and you will lose all your culture or be told its not need there. I was moved to the mainland when I was 5 I'm now 50 and struggling everyday back home in hawaii now sadden that my roots are so far from my soul that I cry for my roots every morning I take my first Hawaiian breath😪 I want it back and I promise before I leave this earth I will have what you colonizers took for me and my Kanaka Maoli 🌺🙏💯❤
