Jazzbari, Thanks for posting this tune in doing so you have opened up a whole new world of musical enjoyment for me and I hope many others. I have been playing the guitar since 1965 have listened to much music and have studied at one time or another, improvisations by all of the Jazz GREATS, the Masters of all instruments. It is unfortunate but for some reason, up until this time, have not heard of Martjin van letrson or, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concergebouw for that matter. Let me now add that Henk Meutgeert's arrangement of this tune is by far the sweetest I've ever listened to and all the players in that orchestra are superb craftsman in their own right. It is actually quite tragic ... here I am in the U.S.A., the birthplace of Jazz and where "The Great American Songbook" was created, and that these wonderful musicians from Holland are interpreting Jazz and performing our "Great Songs" at such a high level are, I think, for the most part pretty much unknown in this country. I just happened by your posting last night and have since been searching for music by Martjin here on RUclips. I've listened to at least a dozen or so tunes that he plays on and all I can say is that he is now currently my favorite modern Jazz guitarist .. Bravo! ... and, thank God for RUclips!
Thanks Charles for your great comment and wonderful to hear you like both our orchestra and our guitar player. Th orchestra has been around since 1996 and Henk Meutgeert was it's first conductor and arranger. He left the orchestra in 2014 and has been succeeded by Dennis Mackrel. You can find information about our orchestra on www.jazzorchestra.nl I hope you enjoy our other RUclips content as wel. Best regards, Juan Martinez
