Interesting review Alan thanks. I have the larger of the two poles and I'm pleased with it. I really like how securely it locks. The rubber doesn't bother me but the tip does the same as yours and I've already lost the the plastic end cap! Saying that, this is reasonably priced in the UK and streets ahead of other low budget boom poles, I won't mention, which drove me crazy.
@@SoundSpeeds after watching this video, I just couldn't help saying "this guy had a problem not being so professional and thorough" Great work. That's what you always do
Thanks for the video. Would you recommend me getting this one over one of the cabled k-tek avalon series aluminum boom pole (KE-144CCR)? Would appreciate your help.
Rode won't return my emails and I'm not about to spend $300 on something that I don't believe would be worth it. I could be wrong but from the looks of the Rode on their website, it doesn't look very well made for the price. Some of the features of the design look like shortcuts.
Thanks. By the way haven't Deity send you their new stuff ? (Transmitters-recorders 32 bit) And haven't you already got your hands on Sennheiser plug-on transmitter with recording(24bit)
I'm going to be looking into those boom buddy boom poles. If they price them between the $80 - $150 range which im hoping for they might replace the hand biting newer boom pole I have. Man the fact you can hold it one handed with a mic on with that amount of agility really shows its lightness and it would be great for me because I'm not really that strong and I often need to one hand under the arm pit or half Jesus stance behind neck to do sound mixing with the other hand.

I have no doubt it will serve you well. :-) Thanks for commenting.
It already has been a reliable piece of kit.
👍
Always informative videos
Thank you sir
Looks like a good little pole. Thanks for the deep dive!
Sure thing. Thanks for watching.
18:13 Allen seeing Sound Speeds logo really makes my day XDDDDD
That did confuse me.

No. The Avalon booms are superior. If you like Ktek, look at their Essentials pole too
@@SoundSpeeds awesome, the essentials looks good too. Thanks for the quick response👍
Sure thing. I have a video on this pole too
Thank you for your review! How does it compare to the Rode Boompole Pro, which is also carbon fiber? They are similarly priced. Thanks

Sennheiser doesn't work with me and the Theos system won't be out until Fall

I have two more budget minded boom pole evaluations coming over the next month.
@@SoundSpeeds I'll be looking into those as well. Thanks.
Sure thing
What are the weights of the boom pole? The web site does not say.
I just used the hanging luggage scale from this video (ruclips.net/video/JsG7X8636kg/видео.html) to check.
BOOM-BP: 1.2 pounds
BOOM-BPS: 0.8 pounds
It's alien speed sounds.....
.......yes.....
Please don't show your keys on camera 😄
I should put a disclaimer at the front of the video.
