Bob Bingham and Kurt Yaghjian were great in their characters Caiaphas and Annas with this song in 1973. They are just as amazing now. Best Caiaphas & Annas of all time! BRAVO!!!!!
Perfection. This was incredible. For years I wondered what happened to the original cast from the film. Breaks my heart that Carl Anderson was taken home. Can you imagine having him along with the rest of the cast today? I know he is smiling down on everyone.
He really was one of a kind. If you’re interested, here’s his last recorded performance of Heaven On Their Minds just months before he passed away from leukemia: ruclips.net/video/eErJPvwMxOo/видео.html&feature=sharea. Just otherworldly
Dude.... I don't think you realize that this is a very Christian audience watching these videos and commenting, and in our belief system, we believers (Christians) go to heaven when we die.@@makaveli201071 What do you think will happen to you when you die? This might be a great time to think about that and align yourself with Jesus Christ, the savior. You really don't want to go to hell.
If you're interested in seeing more of the original cast nowadays, this is quite nice (it's in multiple parts): ruclips.net/video/TApBY9N-uMw/видео.html
I wish you many more years, I was 1 year old when I first heard this and was raised on it, can sing jcs word for word from start to finish. Depresses me that Barry died on my 36th bday but hey, he's in heaven now
They still have it. They still sound the same after all these years. Wow! Just wow! How they were able to retain those voices well into their old ages is simply amazing. Way to go, Bob and Kurt!
At first I thought they might be lip-synching to the original. But then I noticed a few subtle differences in delivery, and realized they are singing live! Both are still in great voice!
The credits at the end indicate that these vocals were recorded in June of 2023. I have no idea if they were doing the actual singing in this video or if it was pre-recorded and they lip-synced to their own vocals. Either way, I am just THRILLED that they did this! What a magnificent performance! This is something that I will definitely watch and listen to over and over again!
Bob and Kurt were and always will be amazing thanks Frank M and Ted and everyone in making this great reunion video I loved it Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew Kurt Yaghjian had been performing regularly in a doo-wop group, but I wondered what happened to Bob Bingham. This was amazing to watch. My favorite Caiaphas/Annas duo.
So wonderful to get to hear Bob sing after meeting him last year. He spoke so fondly of his friendship with Kurt. This video speaks to everything he said. So many feels.
Agreed!! Kurt and Bob sound as strong as in ‘73- in some ways I sense more character, if that’s possible. I would love to see more of the movie cast do more like these! I loved the staging and attitude like the movie except the two pharisees are older… as were their biblical counterparts. We are truly lucky for this video!
It’s so great seeing them sing this 50 years later, one of the most underrated songs from JCS- I wish it was in more productions! I didn’t even know about it until a while after I got into the musical
There are things and people that come together to create something profound and magical. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, it resonates with those outside of the event - for eternity. This movie, these great actors, and a director's vision created lightning in a bottle that will forever be one of those moments and people. Nothing can take that away from them or those of us who were lucky enough to be able to bear witness to it. Consider the number of people who may not have understood the importance of the story that was told until this music and this movie lit a fire inside and changed the direction of their lives forever. Just how many people have you enlightened and saved in 50 years? The thought of it is staggering.
I just meet the cast last night in New Brunswick. I had a VIP pass and sat next to Ted all night as they showed the movie, and got to mingle with them before the show. Absolute magic. I've met many celebrities but nothing compares to last night. They adore each other; they adore their fans. They each made comments to me personally about how surprised they are by everything, like they themselves can't even believe it. Very humble people, terrific to their fans. Ted has a way of making you feel like you're the most important person in the room. It's so genuine. Outstanding performers and human beings.
Seen so many professional stage versions of JCS, (grew up with it) . Seen this film countless times too and love this song/scene so much but never have I seen this song included in any stage version. I know it was wriiten for the film but it’s so good so don’t understand why never seen it included in stage paroductions..This video is amazing, seeing them now in their roles, goosebumps.
50 years!!! It seems like yesterday. I still consider the two times we have met to be some of the most special moments of my life (especially the first, when Carl was also there). Thank you Ted. Much love always ❤
I love this show and have seen the movie and seen theatrical productions of it countless times. I've music-directed a production as well, and even worked backstage at a production that Ted Neely headlined at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Conn., in the mid'90s. I always thought "Then We Are Decided" was an extremely important addition to the score of "JCS". In the original album (the brown album with Ian Gillan and Murray Head), the first time we hear the priests is in "This Jesus Must Die". Adding "Then We Are Decided", as short of a song as it is, gives the listener much more insight into the priests' mindset, and exactly WHY they wanted Jesus to die. Really glad to see that Messrs Bingham and Yaghjian are alive and kicking, too.
Excellent! Love it! you were all so handsome xoxo 😍🥰🤩I was a teen 14 yrs when the movie was out imagine, just fantastic to see those dancers, singers in the big screen backthen in a very hippie boho dressed style ,blessings to you all.
Wow, what a gift to us all! This is one my favourite songs of JCS, it's a shame it was never added to the show because it adds such an interesting side to Caiaphas and Annas. But, it's also great that these wonderful two got to perform it in the movie and now, 50 years later... thank you so much for putting this together. Such a joy to see and hear Bob and Kurt rocking this song after all these years.
Fantastic! Bravo for both .Great singers and actors .Great rock opera. One of the best. Bob Bingham has a voice that is very exceptional.LOVED THE FILM.
This was beyond awesome to see! When Bob sang his first line I couldn’t believe how perfect he sounded. This movie was and is so special in my opinion. The casting was absolutely perfect.
OMG!! I stumbled across this when i was looking for the video of this song from the movie....I had no idea they'd done this! Absolutely magical! To anyone and everyone who was involved in creating this, and especially to Bob and Kurt for reprising their roles, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Absolutely stellar performances and seeing the two of them together again to perform this really fills my heart with joy!!
It is to bad Bob Bingham did not stay in acting. He could have been a big presence on stage and in theater. I would like to see some photos of him from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
a mis 52 años he llegado hasta las lagrimas con este video de Bob y Kurt , then we are decided siempre fue una de mis favoritas del album y de la pelicula y verlos ahora me ha producido mucha emocion , ha sido fantastico ...
Ted I've seen you live in Superstar in Utah twice! Many moons ago! Im now 60ish and love you as much as I did when I was 14 ! You are so blessed and an inspiration. Much love ❤️ and blessings from your biggest fan! Love all the cast too! But especially you!!
Thank you so much for this amazing production. The performances are absolutely stunning!! Also, I am glad you brought this particuöar song from the movie to the stage!
This is my favourite musical even though it was made before I was born. I got to see Ted Neeley perform it in 2017. But the Caiaphas parts are my favourite and nobody has performed them as magnificently as Mr. Bingham. I often enter a room with "Gentlemen, you know why we are here".
My late sister, Janet, was a sophomore at Vanderbilt University in 1971 or 72 and I was just a kid. The touring cast came to the stadium and she got tickets for us and her roommate. I rode in to work with my father (his office was in an administration bldg at Vandy Med School) and I stayed in the dorm for two nights. I felt terribly grown up! The musical changed so many things. I was already a theater rat and knew acting was to be my career and it was. This brings back so many marvelous memories for me and I miss my sweet sister so very very much.
Amazing!!!#

The best Caiaphas and Annas of all time. Bravo!
Thank you… this is absolute perfection. I never in a thousand years thought Bob and Kurt would do this again. No one has compared. Love to both!

Gosh, I wish I could have met Carl. Such an important cast member/character.
What do you mean he was taken home? He died he didn't go to another planet or anything like tht, he died.

FANTASTIS!! I first saw this movie when I was 23. Now I'm 74, still alive and kicking - and I still love this movie and this scene to death!!
Way to go, Bob and Kurt!
was it not voiceover/lip synching?
Maybe the vocals were prerecorded, but it’s definitely their current voice.
@@JohnDoe-gk7ok I think so, too.
@@JohnDoe-gk7ok Definitely the case.
@@JohnDoe-gk7okThey are not singing at all. They’re not miked up.
This brought tears to my eyes. I was 14 years old again, watching this. Just fantastic
Yes, me too.. same age. I didn't think about this show for decades and then rediscovered it last year when I became Born-Again.
This is GREAT!!!! I have been hoping that they would both sing together again!!!! Thank you everyone so very much for this!
At first I thought they might be lip-synching to the original. But then I noticed a few subtle differences in delivery, and realized they are singing live! Both are still in great voice!
They are lip syncing their own voices I think, but not from the film. ..
I think it is a recent vocal recording.@@gargantuaism
Yeah you can tell they are a bit croakier, and Kurt Yaghjian isn't as squeaky.
The credits at the end indicate that these vocals were recorded in June of 2023. There has never been a better pair performing these parts since the movie 50 years ago. Bravo, gentlemen!
Wow! The same power! The same rich voice! ❤️❤️❤️
I think this whole concept is brilliant. To hear their voices now and see them now is incredible. Caiphus still with the full beard. Just awesome!
Just one word - LEGENDS!! ❤❤
Am I the only one who got goose·bumps?
Beautiful scenery, song, lyrics and faces
my favorite song from the film/album. can't find anyone who sings deeper than bob bingham
That was amazing! I am blown away by the richness of their voices!
I love that the original cast can still pull off their parts. This was incredible! I’m hoping I can see one of the performances live 🙂
Agreed!! Kurt and Bob sound as strong as in ‘73- in some ways I sense more character, if that’s possible. I would love to see more of the movie cast do more like these! I always loved how all the arguments don't move caiaphas a bit until he mentions their power could be affected then he agrees instantly.
Amazing! Just watched with my 9 and 11 year olds who are obsessed with Jesus Christ Superstar. We loved it!
Bad ass BOB and Kurt! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 Excellent tone and delivery…wow
AWESOME
It’s so great seeing them sing this 50 years later, one of the most underrated songs from JCS- I wish it was in more productions! I didn’t even know about it until a while after I got into the musical
I'm so happy Robert Bingham back on the stage and recovered from his illness! Huzzzaaah!!!
Absolute perfection then and now , just incredible vocals, I loved this film , thank you so much for the memories.

This song was written especially for the 1973 movie "Jesus Christ Superstar" but was never used in the stage musical until then.
