      @@mariomontana8616 Hey! Well I guess when you say connect, what exactly do you mean because there are so many ways to think of. And when you mentioned Ableton, that adds even more questions. If you’re trying to get audio out of your modular rack, you either need to patch all the voices directly to the Xone 96 or patch all the voices into the mixer in the Erica Synths system, and then patch the output of that mixer to the Xone 96. Either way to do this, you’re going to need to get cables that are 1/8 to rca. You have to patch the xone in stereo so you’ll need 2 for each channel on the Xone and some stables to make your Modular Signal split to stereo. Watch Florian Meindl’s RUclips video he does on this if you don’t follow. Then connect the zone to your computer with a USB cable and open ableton.
      If you don’t want to deal with all that drama, get a ES8, ES9 or Motu to connect to your modular voices, then connect one of those over USB to computer to get to Ableton.
      If you’re interested in learning more about this stuff in detail, I have a Patreon called The Sound Lab. We demo and talk about all of this stuff over group zoom sessions. The link for this is in my description.✌🏽

    Interested in your audio signal chain into inputs 1 and 2 of the xone. Are you using an output module or are you going straight out of the modules at modular level and adjusting the gain on the xone? Nice video as a Xone owner and modular head I have been looking to play with this.

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi Год назад +1

      I'm taking the Kickain module directly into channel 1 [1/2] on the mixer and Channel 1 [3/4] on the mixer the output from the Performance mixer, so one channel is a direct module patch. I have RCA to 1/8 cables that I found on amazon. The Kickain has stereo out so I can patch the L/R in to the Xone. If you are using a module that's a mono signal and want to patch that into a channel the Xone, then you need to get janky with it lol and use a stackable cable out of the modular so you can patch the left and right of the RCA into the Xone mixer. I've done that and it works. just shove the stable somewhere that it isn't touching other modules. :)

      Return tracks on the xone don't send audio out of the mixer over USB, but they can receive audio. Send 1 and Send 2 send audio over USB from the xone, So you could set up an fx rack in ableton and send audio to it from either send 1 or 2 on the mixer, then have that fx chain return audio to the mixer in retun track A or B.
      It's super flexible.
      Also the sends on the mixer are post fader, vs pre-fader for tracks 1-4.

    It’s weird cos im facing latency while im trying to record everything from beginning, I’ve tried so many ways but I ended up on clock box :(
    I mean when i write some patterns on ableton and then playing my modular at the same time live,sounds okey but when it becomes to recording ,its couple of milliseconds of latency from my modular that it makes it sound not sync .
    Any suggestion for this?
    Also thankyou for this helpful video!

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi 5 месяцев назад

      You can try a couple things depending on how you are sequencing your modular, are you clocking your sequencer with Ableton or are you sequencing from Ableton? Also which sequencer are you using? If your sequencer can receive midi clock then you can dial in the milliseconds in the preferences. That's probably the easiest way. Another way is using track delays on the Ableton audio tracks. Also check the options in Ableton and make sure you have delay compensation on. Try that and see if that works.

    • @drconflict629
      @drconflict629 9 месяцев назад +1

      The Xone-96 can be used as a midi controller but I recommend getting a second midi controller for controlling plugins. You need the knobs on the Xone to control the Xone itself.

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi 8 месяцев назад

      Yes, I agree with @drconfoict629 Get a midi controller so it’s less confusing for you. I think if you do use the Xone for midi control, you have to remember to push the button to switch back and forth, also limiting yourself because you may want to be reaching for multiple controls. The Launch Control XL is pretty cool if you want something smaller than K2s. Faderfox also makes really good midi controllers as well.

    I have a similar setup with Ableton and Xone 96. I just use one of the interfaces on the Xone. You can have audio from USB 1 and Audio to USB 1 on the same Ableton track passed from and to the same cnannel on the mixer. For example, audio from modular through track 1 (USB 1) , into Ableton and then back onto the same track 1 on the mixer. Selector set to USB 1. I have this set up as an aggregate device with my ES-9. Works like a charm. What is the advantage of using both interfaces on the xone 96 over just the one? Maybe I missed something.

      First, go into Ableton preferences and select the Xone for both the input and output. Activate all the pairs for both input and outputs. Channels 1 thru 12. Next, create an audio channel in Ableton. on this channel - Select Audio From: Ext In 7/8 and Audio Out: Ext. 7/8. Next, Connect your synth to 7/8 on the Xone and then turn the selector frto whichever Xone usb # that you selected in the Ableton preferences for the INput interface. You should see the audio metering on the channel in Ableton and hear the audio come through on Channel 7/8 on the mixer.

Do you have two USB cables going from your computer to the 96? The first Xone interface should be selected as your INPUT, the second Xone interface selected as your OUTPUT.
