I work in a fab shop many of us have these huge speakers and my buddy had this version come about on his play list i instantly like it what a wonderful version. I enjoy it so much excellen job !!!
I agree! This cover definitely has some salt and pepper of The Paper Kites. Although no cover ever comes close to the original. Hope’s voice was another dimension altogether.
If you are going to cover a song, make it your own. Do something different. No one wants to hear an exact Karaoke version. Put your twist on it. This is just an attempt to sound exactly the same, which is not what a cover is.
Fair points you make. I think on balance though they made significant changes - BL deleted the piano, drums, and tambourine. Overall a less propulsive song. Breather vocals. But both lead and rhythm guitars are similar. Maybe overall more of a tribute than a cover, eh?
