Oh man, you made me miss Oregon so much. I spent many, many mornings in Trillium Lake, before heading back to the office for my day job. You had some beautiful foggy conditions over there, lovely images and video! Looking forward to seeing the next video!
Whoa, I just went to Oregon for a week and was out at Trillium lake this same morning. At 4:17 in the video, that's my silver rental car in the background! Small world :-)
Stunning shots...! The foggy lake and mountain at the beginning: incredible. "Let's take some pictures of dead treeeees...!" [car makes u-turn] That cracked me up 🙂. Thanks for sharing!
Holy absolute cow. Beautiful. I just love these. You're very kind to include more explicit info on your shots; very helpful and interesting. I also like how you're ok with rough patches you encounter of any kind--bad light, or annoying drones, or a bird that flies away before you can think of its name, or otherwise poor circumstances that turn your day into something you hadn't planned. You say "but that's ok" a lot lol. And that's just really nice. Can't wait for more.
Everything about the way you put together your videos is incredible - calming, insightful and beautiful. And thank you for the music recommendation. I always thought about the music you listen to when you go on such trips. Never heard his music before, and the first music video i stumbled upon was "san luis", a video that you could have done :D superb. One question about your last shot of the mountain and the reflection: is it focused stacked?
Well thanks! Nope, didn't end up focus stacking, though I did take the various images in the field to give me the option. It's sharp enough for now, but I'd probably consider doing a stack if I were to ever make a big print. That said, I'm not usually too concerned about having everything pin sharp from front to back. Not really how our eyes work anyway (but, there's a time and a place). And yes! San Luis is one of his best songs. That music video is wonderful and--from what I remember--was shot by a few NatGeo photographers (Keith Ladzinski and others) who are friends of his and also live in the Boulder area.
