The average Olympic rower must spend, on average 15,000 hours rowing. That's 625 consecutive, 24 hours days of non-stop rowing. This means that if you are woke, you can be Mayor of Tauranga.
Anyone can be voted into office in this country whatever their race. All that is required is that they can demonstrate their fitness. Many Maoris get directly elected to parliament and local bodies. No special interest groups please.

Sean is race baiting and completely misrepresentating the situation. I live in Tauranga and know people within council. Sean is trying to create racial hatred and it's working 😡
Looks like it needs to change doesn’t it? Because otherwise you’ve got the same problem that is going to continue to happen because over many years the concept of the treaty and the basis of co-governance has taken over based not on the treaty because it doesn’t actually provide for co-governance in the Treaty and that’s why I think David Seymour‘s bill is so important.
And what exactly does the coalition and specifically Simeon Brown think about this? It would appear from this that Mahe was a world class rower. Anything else not so much. Nice and fluffy and amenable but lacking critical thinking or maybe just pushing that other Maori/Waitangi Tribunal agenda which is coming under the microscope.Sneaking in unelected Maori influence and infection and racial privilege on the side. Nice one Tauranga.
This nonsense goes back to the view that arose about 10 years ago that Te Papa peninsula up to Gate Pa was not sold by the Maori owners to Archdeacon Brown in 1838 but was given to the Church "in Trust" for future Maori development. So, in recent years we have seen the council "gift" land in Mission Street to Iwi and now "gift" to Iwi, ownership to the land in the CBD on which the new civic centre will be built, which council will lease back. Archdeacon Brown was a lawyer before he became a missionary, and he was very careful to draw up sale and purchase agreements (there were two purchases in all) that were valid legal documents. They are still in existence and can be viewed in various books on the history of early Tauranga. The second purchase, which took the church holdings out to Gate Pa and was the larger, took some 18 months to complete as the Maori owners initially asked for a higher price than Brown was prepared to pay. They later reduced their price and the sale went ahead. Even the Anglican church has bought into the myth the land was held in trust and a few years ago we witnessed the spectacle of an Anglican bishop in his knees begging forgiveness of Iwi for the church not honouring its deal and trashing Brown's reputation in the process.
I HEAR It's happening all the time. They get it on hearsay. Corrupt judicial processes HAVE allowed it to happen. TPM and elite radical activist extremist separatist tribal racist Maori want to take everything by 2040. WAKE UP NEW ZEALAND before it's too late.
Perfect situation for committing nepotism and that is why it is so essential to have members only elected by the public to participate in council decision making.
If councils don't stop putting up unelected citizens...then you must be removed from that prestigious position. You are there only because of us citizens VOTING FOR YOU...thats it...its time to stop. Stop dancing around the answers...you must consult with the citizens..no one else. End of.

Sean, thanks so much for shining the light.
Sean is race baiting and completely misrepresentating the situation. I live in Tauranga and know people within council. Sean is trying to create racial hatred and it's working 😡
Hopefully he’s kept his rowboat, one term mayor incoming.
Lots of expensive Maori statues, thats what I see
wow i didn’t know that where please??
Woke Mahi shocking.😮
Brown Card $$$$$$$$
Until all rate payer realise councils are just screwing them nothing will change. Councils don't give shit about about how they waste your money. This Maori BS has to end. As with Govt, tax payers and rate payers are being screwed to have all these troughers on board. Has to end.
This reminds me of the navy recruiting offices on the US east coast. They don't even need to speak english in them. It's all done in Chinese there!
You’re on it Sean. Thank you!!!

If it was legislatively mandatory, Councillors wouldn't have voted 🎤
Merry clown world
ah ah ah mmm ah ah mmmm ah ah ah
Just what I was thinking!! Ah ah mmmm I ah mmm lost ah mmm count ah mmmmmmmmmmm !!!
Haha. You noticed that as well
Looks like it needs to change doesn’t it?
Couldn't agree more. It's despicable racist behaviour. I'm sick to death of the colour and racist based politics in the govt and the councils.
End of.
My my this road is a dangerous one for everyone.
Mr Drysdale gets caught out by the interviewer every step of the way. Sean for mayor.
Sean is an absolute pig and an inflammatory fool!?!
Surely begs the question if Mahe and those councillors who voted in favour of this are capable of making decisions for which they were elected. Should resign if they’re not up to it.
Who would of thought the word "partnership" would be so triggering
You don't need to put Maori on council committee just to get an input. They were not voted in, so do not deserve to be there.
Agree 1000%
You know who not to vote for tauranga next time he damm well knows what he was trying to do
Simeon Brown MUST change the Local Govt Act. No Iwi involvement at ALL
Oh no. I thought he would be more modern. Tauranga gets another dead wood council operating against the interests and wishes of tauranga people. Good questions sean. Mahi, you are the racist, not we nonmaori. Mahi, its all bullshit. What about the turds on sticks at the papamoa end of the causeway, who paid, also the maori sculpture in tauranga for 300000 for a couple of trellises.
And spending 10k on Painting Pedestrian Crossings in Stripes for the Queers
not in tauranga haven’t seen where? i’ll go and paint them out if theirs any??
Vote him out next election
Well done holding these clowns to account
Equality for all New Zealanders. No special priviledges based on race.
I see it as vote stacking, without them some of the things he wants to do probably wound'nt get through, its all dodgy
