    Sorry, can someone explain 9:38? Dustin seems to have caught the ball on a slice attempt and then he hits it for the second time to finish off the point. I have read the rules on the double hit and it seems confusing as to whether it was a single continuous motion. Thanks.

      You don't think DB is "consistent"? OK, let's put him against your club champ / uni #1 / state champ, &c. We're talking distinctions of 1-to-10^-8. Even being in _the draw_ at a major means you are one-in-ten-million. Enjoy the tennis, bro, learn from it []... and then go back to your GOAT boy-crush.

    Dustin Brown might be flashy, but please realize he has spent the majority of his career on the Challenger Circuit as he is simply not good enough to play on the ATP tour very often.

    • @sonicstep
      @sonicstep 4 года назад +1

      I suppose that is the price one has to pay for flamboyance and fearlessness.
      From a spectator's point of view, it's what I want to see. I prefer to be entertained than to attempt to watch players who fear taking chances and being creative at making opportunities.
      Unfortunately, there are no bonus points for being imaginative, fearless and stylish. The main thing is Dustin clearly enjoys the game. He doesn't take himself nor his participations too seriously.
      Incidently, there have been other recognised greats who were never world champions, but were worthy of being so. Sir Stirling Moss race car driver and Jimmy White snooker player come to mind. To me they are both world champions.

    • @xtraxtra171
      @xtraxtra171 4 года назад

      sonicstep ...... Brown simply is not a very good player, he is a sideshow who plays the majority of his matches on the Challenger circuit. If you prefer to watch him as opposed you other players, that’s your prerogative ✌️

    • @tepsi87
      @tepsi87 3 года назад

      I disagree with that. With a career high of 64 and 3 mil price money you are an ATP-level player. He lacks consistency, that is true, but the thing is, why does he lack it? For what I see and hear about him (I live close to his home club), his biggest problem is his health, specifically his back. He has months and months, probably years in total of back injury time. Not severe i.a. not being able to live, but unable to compete at the level he has shown to be capable of. You see a lot of matches, where he can't go 100%, often obvious with his serve. And thats when he plays even riskier to keep plays short. You and me, we both know, how important match routine is and he just never seems to have a longer playing streek.
      Not saying, he'd be a grand slam winner if and when, but he's definitely, like really definitely ATP-level. And keep in mind he's 36 already, where health issues get even worse.

    • @xtraxtra171
      @xtraxtra171 3 года назад

      @@tepsi87 FACT - Brown played most of his career on the challenger circuit. FACT - Brown NEVER won an ATP tournament, never even came close. FACT - Brown is a journeyman tennis player who simply wasn’t very good.

    • @tepsi87
      @tepsi87 3 года назад

      @@xtraxtra171 You seem to fail to understand the difference between having the level/ability and having success. Two very different things.
      Besides, check your "FACTS": He has won two ATP doubles titles.
      Then he has played 13 ATP Quarterfinals and two ATP semifinals. Not too bad for a player you claim to be unable to compete in general at ATP level, or?
      And he beat two different world no. 1 players, Hewitt and Nadal. Nadal twice, as we all know. So, is he a successfull ATP-Player? No. Does he have the level to compete at ATP? Oh yes!
      And with less health issues more results like the achieved ones (tournament wins can obviously not be calculated in theory)? Most likely!
