I've always wondered if the title "Make Happy" was a direct continuation of this train of thought. He suggests performing comedy can "fix" him, then in Make Happy he reveals that performing is making things worse.
@@clarasage8787 it seems like Comedy is simultaneously what he loves and what scares the shit out of him. It especially seems this way after seeing “All Eyes On Me”
This was from 'what' almost 10 years ago and was one of the first times we saw Bo slipping in stuff about his mental health not being so great. The tone switch was a real punch because he hadn't really shared like that before. I think the fact that he had to come up with this elaborate, funny, technically amazing stage presentation to discuss it shows how uncomfortable he was discussing it freely and kind of plotted the trajectory of his recent works.
i really like the part where the sides say "i love you." "i know" because it reflects which side is which and what their roles are. i think its very neat.
The same goes for "I'm sorry," and "No you're not." Left Brain is saying this just to calm Right Brain down, and Right Brain knows he's lying - either because he can read people or because he knows LB can't be sorry.
I haven’t been able to watch BO for awhile since I saw it’s inside special. Hit way to hard to home. I’ve been forcing myself to watch him more because I want to support him and definitely want to support your channel as well
@@ivankawnartist That's a crazy combination. The special that this is from (What) is definitely were Bo started slipping in more serious topics including his unhappiness that culminates in the special "Make Happy" which was the last comedy special he made before returning to Inside.
@Siddhart Ramotar I was already on the brink of an existential crisis after inside, I didn't know what I was getting into by watching both back to back. I went into the movie blind cause I like Andrew Garfield as an actor. It was a trip, for sure. And don't worry, I'm quite familiar with Bo so you don't have to fill me in. He's great.
The "I'am the adult and you are the child." lines really is good, young Bo Burnham is mostly immature but really funny, but nowadays Bo Burnham is the right brain and is more mature.
Weeping in awesome amazement , to have to pull it together , and spit it off the cuff down in the trenches doing hard time alone , beautiful tribute thank U Bo❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bo had done a ton of amazing stuff before this, but for me this was the performance that made me see him as a true artist. What you don't hear in this video is the absolute explosion of cheers that erupts the instant after Bo says "Thank you very much". I think the crowd really recognized the level of genius they had just seen. Not sure what else you've done from 'what.' already, but 'Sad', 'Repeat Stuff', and 'From God's Perspective' are my favorites from that special, along with this one (in no particular order). Get well soon dude
"We Think we know you” it’s the ending for his special what. which is also on RUclips for free and Netflix. I just love the mountain of content he has and how introspective it always I’ve been a fan since I first saw his RUclips videos!
I hope you're feeling better now bro, also if you ever get a chance to watch an interview from Bo Burnham in your spare time, like when he was being interviewed about his movie 'Eighth Grade', you can just tell how intelligent he is and how much he genuinely cares for my generation (I'm gen Z so basically grew up on the internet), he says some very profound things and he's just a genius in my opinion lol, so creative, so funny, so kind, I'm lowkey a fanboy
“This acting is even good, man” Oh you don’t know about ‘Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous’ eh? He had a tv show on MTV at one time. It was way ahead of it’s time.
That's not the only thing he's acted in there's a few others, can't think of the names of them though. but there's at least one movie that he starred in he is very talented. I found out about him since before 'What' was released and everything he does is gold
@@diamondninja1027 Actually I was thinking of the movie 'Adventures in the Sin Bin' but IMDb has him in many movies like 'Hall Pass' and and 'American Virgin' as well as many TV shows like 'Key and Peele' and 'Parks and Recreation'
Talking about this bit compared to the film "Inside Out", you'd be surprised that in 1991 thru 1994, there was a TV show on Fox called "Herman's Head". The show follows a research assistant, Herman Brooks, who works in the fact-checking department of a major magazine publisher, Waterton Publishing, in Manhattan. Herman, from all outward appearances, embodies the young man on the fast track-ambitious, clever, and sensible. However, viewers are shown that a struggle of contrasting personality traits are constantly working, and most often arguing, inside his head. His decisions and actions are dramatized with a "Greek chorus"-style interpretation of his thought processes. Each of his different emotions and thought processes are represented as people who reside in his head. It's literally an early 90's live action sitcom of Inside Out.
The things I really like about Bo's stuff is you can take his songs as funny haha, but his lyrics also lend themselves to be deeply analyzed. Like the burrito line about how he wouldn't have asked for all these things if he knew it wouldn't fit could just be him ordering a burrito, but it could also be about how the fame he's achieved came with so much shit that he wouldn't have asked for fame if he'd known what it would bring. It can really be as funny and/or deep as you want!
One of my favorites! If you have trouble with even the transparency, you can try transparency plus flipping the video horizontally. That seems to help a bit
No other reactor has ever had copyright issues. Why are you so special to get copyrighted? Bo literally allows his every video including specials to be shared.
RUclips has deemed me a “non trustworthy” content creator. It’s not artists who copyright other channels. It’s distribution companies and RUclips working together. If you follow my channel I talk about this in slot of videos. In 365 days I received around 118 copyright strikes and asked them to take me to court. They dropped them all but still shut down my channel around once a month 🤷♂️
I hope you feel better man.. that's some bs it already got you again. When you get back to making videos Harry Mack was just on Ellen again. It's really dope.
If you are a fan of Bo's work, you might like this video I made using clips from his show "Zach Stone" and his song "Goodbye" (from the "Inside" Netflix special): ruclips.net/video/iyqYtC7saDM/видео.html
Saying Inside Out stole from Bo Burnham here is kinda like saying an artist stole the concept of chords. These are psychological fundamentals. Heck, this entire sketch is based on an outdated belief about the left and right brain hemispheres.
Bro, get 1,000mg Vitamin C, 10,000 IU Vitamin D, 50mg Zinc, 500mg Quercetin, and 1,000mg L-Lysine. All are great for immune support. I've been taking that along with 600mg NAC every day for months now. It is what one of the many censored doctors said they were prescribing as treatment for their covid patients and having great results.
"we can make him happy this way, we can fix him" damn chills everytime

That special fucked me up, too. I feel you. This particular snippet is certainly as challenging to observe.
Dude me too .I thought inside was awesome and I wanted to watch it again but it took me like 3 weeks before I could make myself watch it again
@silverback inkers I watched it drunk twice in a weekend followed by the movie 'Tick tick boom' with Andrew Garfield. 😵💫

I don't think Inside out stole from Bo, I think they both borrowed from pop psychology.

George Carlin and Steve Martin used to juggle 🤯
Bo is incredible. You be better soon. #Deep, Straight White Man, Lower Your Expectations or Ironic would be great once you are well again?
Gotta love the Bo Reactions!!
My favorite thing is when Left Brain gets pissed he slips into a slight Boston Irish accent.
Beau Burnham Unironically understanding Dialectics better than Hegel for a single song. At least that's how I think of this song
You mean the world to us too 💝 please take care, get rest, we'll be here when you come back 💖
He's so darn creative
he also has a tv show on netflix called "zach stone is gonna be famous" and he's in a movie called "8th grade"
He wrote and directed eighth grade.
get better soon, Cliff! Alle the best to you
Hope you're feeling better man, sorry the Rona put you on IR. Sending good vibes your way, take care and get well soon 😁
Take it easy man don't push yourself too hard you got all the time in the world now. Just take care of yourself that's the most important thing.
Love your reactions hope you feel better

This is a song from his first stand up special, "what"
It came out way before Inside Out, so yeah they probably stole the idea
Or they stole from Osmosis Jones…
That was a weird freaking movie.
Inside out stole from an old show called “Herman’s Head” in the early 90’s before Bo turned 5 years old
def need to do "My whole family thinks im gay" by him. Hope you feel better bro.
Speedy recovery Cliff, take it easy man
Never noticed he basically only rhymes with his left brain, noticed a lot but that one skipped me
hope you feel better soon brother ❤️
I just wish one of these days one reactor will get the star wars reference in the end lol
Yeah you should rest up brother I’ll say a prayer for you my guy. 🙏🙏
Inside Out stole from Herman's Head
The inspiration is from Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde not Inside Out, a bit more classic :)
BO BURNHAM - SAD
I personally recommend doing Channel 5 News next.
Cliff I'm still here
I love this song. But you still need to go back to some of the old ones from his bedroom.

I think I can hear the nerves the most in this song, an him holding his breath staying on beat. Get as much rest as you need.
