    This doesn't really capture the Green Party message very well, IMHO.
    Green Party also does not support the stuff Democrats and Republicans do:
    1. Wars.
    2. Prisons...at least you mentioned that...but I would hope Green Party is against the whole mass incarceration, AKA the New Jim Crow.
    3. Welfare for Wall Street.
    4. Ever-expanding US Empire.
    These, to me, are the important issues. I hate all this blood on my hands...I think the Greens are the only ones that might be interested in stoping the spread of the US Military and the US Empire/corpotocracy.

      Wanting to help the environment isn't controversial, what's controversial is the way they want to accomplish it. They propose massive government control and deficit spending.
      There's also the slight issue that they are socialists. I don't mean that in the "government doing a thing is socialism" sense, I mean actual socialism. That along with their various other stances is why a lot of people don't associate with them.

    I'm a registered Democratic voter in Texas (Dallas), but like to claim I'm independent. Been voting since 1974, voted only Democrat in the last election for Biden, simply because Trump and Republicans are so lousy and I Iive in Texas, just to counter the GOP, because it seems like no one else will win but a Republican or Democrat (corporate money runs everything). But I am so tempted to vote Green, just felt that if I do, it's like giving a vote to Republicans. I TRULY AM SICK OF BOTH REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS ... I feel almost lost.

At its core is concern not only about ecological wisdom, but also concern for social justice, participatory democracy, nonviolence, sustainability and respect for diversity. It is a truly progressive party and provides for progressives an alternative to the democratic-republican party of the overlords.

      They also claim North Korea were the good guys and that American soldiers exterminated 20% of the Korean population in a genocide after the Korean War. They are so close to being something I support, but the national party leadership is made up of lunatics and I think it's better to support DSA and other more reality-driven movements. I'm half expecting them to come out against 5G. Local green candidates and those giving ranked choice voting seem great though. It's just some things they do and say cross a line that no reasonable person can accept.

    What if the People's Party, the Greens, the Libertarian Party, the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), and all minor parties were to announce, "We will be separate parties again in the future, but until we get Approval Voting in every State, we are going under the banner of the People's Party. We ask everyone to join our parties and get on our mailing lists if you have affinity for our ideologies at all, but also help organize the People's Party and vote for People's-Party candidates until we have won Approval Voting. The Americans have everything to gain and nothing to lose by following this plan. It is the shortest and least violent path to the defeat of corporate rule."

    • @therongjr
      @therongjr 2 года назад

      In my opinion, the parties that you mention have deep philosophical divides. The Green Party and PSL are both socialist, with PSL being Marxist-Leninist and the Greens more Anarchist-lite, the Libertarian Party is capitalist, and the People's Party is populist (A.K.A. capitalist but too spineless to admit it).
