  • Once you have been diagnosed with melanoma, the next step is to assess your risk of spread beyond the primary tumor.
If your doctor believes the risk is high enough, s/he’ll perform further tests to establish whether the melanoma has spread. One of those tests is sentinel lymph node biopsy.

    Ask An Expert...?
I have a question...... I am deeply concerned for a friend who has Basil Cell Carcinoma, he has a deep open wound the size of a mans hand, right in the middle of his back, the skin is all gone. He has no health insurance and he has been the way for 3 years+ without the Texas health care system lifting one finger to assist him.
    What can this man do?
I helped him for many months but now he lives with his sister so he can have someone change his dressings and cover the wound so he can shower, any answers to this questioning can possibly be life changing.
