I‘m really trying to stay positive here. I love our refreshed characters. I‘m really sad that the BT and DA at least got some of their troops refreshed in style, but we couldn’t. We got left hanging in the wind with the missed DC refresh and now this sub par sanguinary guard… It will be great for kitbashes and I‘m happy with that. But it would‘ve been nice if we had at least one troop choice that was nicely updated :( (Deathwing knights, inner circle companions, crusader squad and sword brethren are all worlds better than our most iconic unit) it‘s just such a shame as I was sooo hyped for this refresh :(

@tom9011 Given the choice I'd gladly pick the old kits 10/10, but the problem with that is the fact that now the old kits are going away. I've got enough bits that I'll be fine, but not everyone's been in this hobby for decades.
I think that the old Stormcast line is why they're attempting to make the new Blood Angels look more futuristic which is failing to capture the excellence of the old Sanguinary Guard. The fact that they looked like angelic, animated statues with wings is what made them fantastic. Doing away with the wings and making them look bloated and obtuse is simply a gigantic miss on the part of GW's design studio.
The 'problem' (size/proportion) of old marines isn't realy a problem to me, they where more cartoonish (ie. hero-scale, not true-scale) maybe, but also more gothic, dark and mysterious. Now they are just plain, detail-less (insignia, droplets, purity seals, wings, etc) and soulles, but true scale.
Arms too long, abdomens too short, heads and hands still too big. Its better than before but gw sculpts are still off when ut comes to human anatomy. Look at SW shatterpoint or infinity. Thats better :-C

You were far more generous with these than I’d have expected. They’re both bad. The Sanguinary Guard are way worse, between the lack of wings, the poorly sculpted masks, and the derpy poses. But the Sanguinor looks like his wings are made of cardboard, the mask looks like Dr. Zaius got punched in the face, and the parchment scrolls make him look like Doc Ock the way they go straight to the ground. Blood Angels were not spoiled here, we got screwed.
I would prefer the sanguinary guard to have the Sanguinor Helmets with hair and not be bald ..... The Sanguinary guard helmets just look like Age of Sigmar .... Its crazy they allow 2 ips to be identical like that. A Bald head looks nothing like Sanguinius either Imo
I think they look good, especially with spears, but I am very disappointed with the reduction to 3 models and I do miss the wings... I really do... They could have reduced the wing size some, but taking them away completely was the wrong move imho.
So yeah, basically everything that can go wrong, went wrong. I congratulate us for having the worst range refresh of all space marines so far and the worst part is that we are stuck with this for next who knows how many years. So unless GW decides to do a stormcasts maneuever with them in like 4 years, BA are going to be yet another 3d printer only army.

If you look at the BA and DA refreshes, it becomes clear that they got different story, so yeah, speaking about chapter specific marines I'm pretty sure this is the worst refresh so far.

They look so bad! How did they mess up sanguinary guard? Every one of them is unique with wings, weapons, armour and masks. These are copy paste generic attack cherubs. Horrible.
Would have like a bit less technology on the Sanguinor he is supposed to be a daemon/warp entity of some kind so wouldn’t have crossed the rubicon primaris.
Don’t get the reasoning behind the Sanguinor, essentially an ancient imperial daemon,suddenly turning into a Primaris marine. The Sanguinary Guard are just Stormcast Eternals with guns and jump packs. I suspect a lot of people will just keep using their old models mounted on larger bases

I like the new HQs, but the Sanguinary Guard and Death Company look generic as hell. GW turned the Blood Angels into the Genesis Chapter (Ultramarines in red). I mean, the Dark Angels and Black Templars got great refreshes. This feels lazy.
The thing I really don't understand is the backpack of the Sanguinor. How would he get a primaris jump pack? He 's not a Marine that can go to cawl and aks for new Equipment. Or did he cross the rubicon? Xd this is rediculous

They were suits created in the times of the crusade , it us a heresy to change old tech in the w40k setting, yet somehow they have intercessor jet packs. It is on the level of puting 1990s spoiler on a 60s car.
One thing that looks so bad, that I haven't seen anyone mention yet, is the direction of travel of the bodies is different to the direction of travel of the jump packs. This is the first time I've seen this mistake in jump marines and it looks AWFUL!
Totally agree about the Sanguinor, only thing I'd add is that the higher position of the halo on the new model also takes away from the whole crucifixion/ascension vibe the old one had, liked it much more when it was behind the head and you couldn't so easily see the connection to the jump-pack. Miss that head tilt too.
I was frustrated with how long it was taking for GW to update Blood Angels, so I kitbashed my own Sanguinary Guard in 2022. They look surprisingly like these already, so I think I will stick with them, maybe continue working on them. I don't look forward to paying £94.00 for 6 of these new ones. Mine are deep bronze with red bodygloves underneath.
I know its not the common consensus but i really like the way primaris takes away a lot of the detail it gives you more reasons to customize it yourself same with these new sang guard they mesh really well with dante and you can grab bits from other kits to make them yours instead of being forced into certain looks
if they wanted wings, they could've just added feathers to the jetpacks, and make the exhausts more winglike. that way you get both and won't have to resort to that lazy attempt of the exhaust flaps which are just ugly when looking at them from above.
last GW thing I got was Cursed City. I hate jumping on pessimism hate wagon but they did this BA. release so dirty. If this flops so hard like the SW. head upgrade sprue we could see a revision. I can't help but get my emotions involved since BA. were and are my first army, and the CAD releases lack weight, lack the ornate details and the pecs look so strange in all the reveals. Lore-wise all the Sang. Guard died at the devastation of Baal, so these may be a lore soft-reboot they look so different.
I really love the Sanguinor model. The Sanguinary Guard I also like, but they will look better with some kit bashing using bits from the original Sanguinary Guard box set.
Its not just the lack of wings, its the lack of feathered shoulderpads, its the fact that the helmets just look like stormcast eternal. Its the fact that its 3 models, they no longer have axes as an option. Its the fact that the old ones people already have will be phased out for these lackluster ones. Sanguinor looks fine, If Astorath gets wings then surely these guys should have had wings as well. If the lore is they're running out of the Atrifecer armor and are unable to resupply thats nonsense as well. Being cut off from the Imperium means they dont get resupplied, but the Forges on Baal should have been rebuilt and fully operational since its been heavily fortified by loads of imperium forces since the Devastation. Its also not the first time Baal has been cut off from Tera. Its incredibly lazy for GW to try to write this off as a lore issue when they simply chose to only give wings to Characters now.
I feel like the older Sanguinary Guard just had a lot more personality and more of a unique silhouette. The new ones aren’t bad, decent sculpts but they feel like they’re lacking just a few keen features from their predecessor. Personally, I’m a big fan of the older wings and masks, they always reminded me of statues in a way. As if each feature was chiseled out of marble. Feel like the new masks and a few other features are just two smooth like with the chest and such. New sanguinary Guard do have great kitbash potential though, that does seems to be the main thing I’ve heard about them lately. Do really like the spears and helmet-less heads, wish the axes were an option though.
If the head had been faithful it might've been great. I get your reaction on the wings. But lorewise they do have wings like the sanguinor. But no denying that the faces are aweful.
Pretty happy with this announcement. Literally the only downside from what I can see is the lack of wings for the Sanguinary Guard. It's a shame from a design standpoint, as the wings made them standout more, but it's not make or break for me by any means. Just so happy the Blood Angels are finally getting some love.
I asked my BA friend what he thought. He likes them, as he was the guy who would never bother with the wings, and recognizes the fb kits have screw(ier)y scale/proportions than the primaris. That, and if you shave away the little blood drops, and use alt heads, these models can be fairly agnostic. I may try to convert them into rg vanguard vets.
I listened until you defended shrinkflation as balancing. Could offer the same amount of plastic and increase points cost... but instead decide to 'balance' the game via people's wallets.
100% I'm stealing one of the sanguinary guard and painting him in death company colours to represent that even the most exceptional blood angels can fall to the black rage.
How does crusade era power armour come with Cawl primaris jet packs. Also the whole thing about joining the guard is leaving your past life, becoming a statue like guardian with no personal identity. Thst is why the guard wears death masks , never takes them off around others. And now GW gives them no helmet heads ? Wtf
Worst models I have ever seen from GW. No wings, bad poses super bland, lost all of the flavor, huge disappointment for true BA fans. They could have just given the Assault Intercessors an upgrade sprue and called it a day. I am so glad I have a regular squad of 10 in my collection, looks like I will be using the old kit for a LONG time.
It's a solid mid. The Sanguinor is everything a update needs to be just a refresh witt no risk taken. The guard bodies are nice but very generic from what it could be. Wished it was a 5 man squad as I'd be using these for conversions.
Bit sad about the loss of wings. Also think the sanguinor jump pack would look better on the sanguinary guard. Love they have spears now. Will probably change heads and maybe jump packs for them.
I think I could get on board with the plainer Death Company - after all why would you adorn a soldier who is literally aiming for suicide? But the Sang Guard should be bejewelled to the max. Artistry is one of the fundamental tenets of the 9th and I expect them to have beautiful and highly personalised armour and they don’t. And when you compare it to the elites given to the Black Templars and the Dark Angels these are not good enough imo. That’s not to say I don’t like the aesthetic, but they aren’t Sang Guard to me. If I buy some it’ll be because they have the same aesthetic as the new Captain which means these are likely to be a cheaper way of getting characters rather than buying the captain sculpt.
My vote is you paint them as angels encarmine 🤷🏼♂️ to continue building your successor force , me personally I’m going to snag the other kit for bits like my plan was for the new death company
As a blood angels collector who cares much more about visuals than competitiveness or rules, these MAY end up as bases for kitbashes to make proper marines. These look worse than many printable proxies I have seen
I think a lot comes from how awfully slow the Primaris conversion is. So you constantly compare the very overload firstborn style with the slick Primaris style, making both look weird.
I was never a fan of the old Guard, too short and stubby with giant heads, peak Heroic scale. I can understand the new simpler ones (and the lore fits fine- the Tyranids ate all the firstborn ones during the Devastation of Baal!), though I think their waist is too thick? I feel they should be a bit thinner and elegant, more angelic?? The Sanguinor is fine, except the helmet, I hate it so far. The Dante novel describes its helmet as a crying Sanguinius (complete with golden tears rolling down its cheeks), a perfect counterpart to the furious Sanguinius helmet that Dante wears. Oh well. I might put the old head on the new body if I ever get it.
from what I can tell, the resin they use for 3d printing (like most other resin) is brittle, so harder to cast, so a lot of the new 40k stuff is really smoothed off and im just kidding, its not that hard this is just some creative lead being real anal about every marine looking as similar to each other as possible, excpet adeptus ren-fair and their leader lionel.
The sanguinary guard are awful. They didn't respect the original models at all. Plus the poses are really flamboyant. The faces on new Blood Angels look like there emaciated
Sanguinor is great, except for the head. But it's easily fixable, just print and swap in a more cherub like baby face for that Jesus look. Sanguinary guard.. just what were they thinking? Wings missing, bald stormcast heads, awkward poses + I really dislike that all jump pack primaris look like they're tipping over a tactical rock. Why can't they just stand there? No need for action man poses.
The Stockholm syndrome on this channel is off the charts. GW will continue to make sub par miniatures (and rules, and lore...) exactly as long as you continue to cope and make excuses for them.
I disagree about Sanguinor head. I think it's really kinda ugly straight on and the sculpted hair is TOO much. the wings I agree the lack of organic feel is a little disappointing. the single thruster backpack is awesome. Sanguinary guard are massively disappointing. The lack of wings is an automatic fail for me. There was no reason to do a double thruster backpack when they had a single thruster with a great wing spot ready to go, they coulda just had smaller wings for these guys. I think the poses are a little bit weightless except for the throwing spear guy. the spears overall are pretty legit, but overall not a fan of them compared to the old kit. I think the wings were the single most important part of the old kit so the fact that they're missing is really frustrating.
i have to say that i dislike the helmet of the sanguinor. the old helmet was more lifeless. more ghost-like. and i am sad, that those jump pack wings are gone. but my main dislike is that there are only 3 marines in one box.
The helmet of the sanguinary guards are not good, the mouth too, the gothic aesthetic is missing, it's much too neutral, I don't recognize the warhammer 40 spirit in this model, it clearly needs to be aware of the rotten path they are taking.
I think these new models are great, can't wait to get them. I think for Sanguinary Guard I will mostly use the heads with no helmet and I have a few of the death masks from the old first born upgrade sprue knocking about so might use these as they are less Stormcasty. Overall very happy with all the new blood angel stuff. Looking forward to the new combat patrol next week, and whatever is announced tomorrow...
Is the Primaris controversy largely due to sunk costs into existing armies? Because the "Firstborn" models look shit to me with their funky squat proportions.
i think its more to do with how bland the primaris are, scale is better on primaris, but design is a lot more shit. most fan media for space marines use the objectivley better looking mouth grills, or beaky helmets, new GW style sheets are "make it look like a bike helmet with "grillz" and smooth over all the features so its as bland as possible. theres no soul there, except for the dark angels who they poured a lot of efort into with capes, bangles, shields their own unique terminators etc. this just looks like they half assed it for no reason.
I’m actually ok with the ‘wingless’ sanguinary guard. It always seemed a bit too OTT on the old models. The new sanguinor does the job. Something off about the face though. Thinking some of the new sculpts are probably let down a bit by the slightly rushed paint jobs.
Sanguinor wings look like garbage, his face is bizarre, his purity seals look worse than the curves of the original sculpt and his armor should have stayed old school style just proportioned up. Overall this is a pretty disappointing release of updated sculpts, I’m glad I don’t play or collect blood angels because if I did I’d want to stick to the old sculpts over all of these very lazy bland looking refreshes. I just hope they don’t screw up future space marine refresheszz
Why does the Sanguinor have Primaris armor? Hes supposed to be a mythical being, but he stopped by the armory for a cup of coffee and to get some better gear?
I love the armor, It's exactly what i wanted. A mix between the previous ornate armor (which i felt was a bit TOO busy) and the new mark X. However that armor should have been for the regular primaris marines in the combat patrol. For the Sanguinary Guard they could have done a lot more and make more unique pieces. And at a massive 50euro a box for 3 models GW can shove those spears someplace the emperor's light doesn't reach.
The wings had character but I don’t think they looked good. If the new sculpt had wings they would completely overpower Dante and the new jump captain, clearly they modeled them to give some parity. That said, they look like Stormcast like hell.
I do LOVE the basic upgrade to the Sanginor I am happy he's bigger, and stayed to his pose. I LIKE that we get spears, the new sculpts and I like the poses. I DO NOT LIKE 3 MAN SQUADS. NO WINGS. Death Mask looking more AoS now.
That head on the Sanguinor is awful. What a horrible design. The new Sanguinary Guard are terrible as well. They have this weird, rounded belt pouch that makes their waists look too obtuse and bloated. Grenades, knives, phials of blood, and purity seals are the only things that should be on Sanguinary Guards' waists. These new models are really disappointing. And, where in hell are their angel wings? Why did they do away with these? The death masks are abysmal as well. Oh! and the Sanguinor's wings are trash! Holy cow, these things are bland and suck. Feathered wings is the only way to go, even if they're still vaguely mechanical, putting feathered wings is the best approach to this concept. What they did here is just goofy and stupid looking.

I know its not the common consensus but i really like the way primaris takes away a lot of the detail it gives you more reasons to customize it yourself same with these new sang guard they mesh really well with dante and you can grab bits from other kits to make them yours instead of being forced into certain looks
if they wanted wings, they could've just added feathers to the jetpacks, and make the exhausts more winglike.
that way you get both and won't have to resort to that lazy attempt of the exhaust flaps which are just ugly when looking at them from above.

last GW thing I got was Cursed City. I hate jumping on pessimism hate wagon but they did this BA. release so dirty. If this flops so hard like the SW. head upgrade sprue we could see a revision. I can't help but get my emotions involved since BA. were and are my first army, and the CAD releases lack weight, lack the ornate details and the pecs look so strange in all the reveals. Lore-wise all the Sang. Guard died at the devastation of Baal, so these may be a lore soft-reboot they look so different.
I really love the Sanguinor model. The Sanguinary Guard I also like, but they will look better with some kit bashing using bits from the original Sanguinary Guard box set.
Yes I think that's the only way to save them. Jump pack with wings for sure and then assess from there
Its not just the lack of wings, its the lack of feathered shoulderpads, its the fact that the helmets just look like stormcast eternal. Its the fact that its 3 models, they no longer have axes as an option. Its the fact that the old ones people already have will be phased out for these lackluster ones.
Sanguinor looks fine, If Astorath gets wings then surely these guys should have had wings as well. If the lore is they're running out of the Atrifecer armor and are unable to resupply thats nonsense as well. Being cut off from the Imperium means they dont get resupplied, but the Forges on Baal should have been rebuilt and fully operational since its been heavily fortified by loads of imperium forces since the Devastation. Its also not the first time Baal has been cut off from Tera.
Its incredibly lazy for GW to try to write this off as a lore issue when they simply chose to only give wings to Characters now.
I feel like the older Sanguinary Guard just had a lot more personality and more of a unique silhouette. The new ones aren’t bad, decent sculpts but they feel like they’re lacking just a few keen features from their predecessor. Personally, I’m a big fan of the older wings and masks, they always reminded me of statues in a way. As if each feature was chiseled out of marble. Feel like the new masks and a few other features are just two smooth like with the chest and such. New sanguinary Guard do have great kitbash potential though, that does seems to be the main thing I’ve heard about them lately. Do really like the spears and helmet-less heads, wish the axes were an option though.

If the head had been faithful it might've been great. I get your reaction on the wings. But lorewise they do have wings like the sanguinor. But no denying that the faces are aweful.

Pretty happy with this announcement. Literally the only downside from what I can see is the lack of wings for the Sanguinary Guard.
It's a shame from a design standpoint, as the wings made them standout more, but it's not make or break for me by any means.

The level of detail will make more sense next to Dante. They're about 20% less fancy, which seems right to me.
I asked my BA friend what he thought. He likes them, as he was the guy who would never bother with the wings, and recognizes the fb kits have screw(ier)y scale/proportions than the primaris. That, and if you shave away the little blood drops, and use alt heads, these models can be fairly agnostic. I may try to convert them into rg vanguard vets.
I listened until you defended shrinkflation as balancing. Could offer the same amount of plastic and increase points cost... but instead decide to 'balance' the game via people's wallets.
100% lame they are now selling is a quarter or three plastic for well over 35% more for less detailed, lower quality looking models...GREED Workshop.

How does crusade era power armour come with Cawl primaris jet packs. Also the whole thing about joining the guard is leaving your past life, becoming a statue like guardian with no personal identity. Thst is why the guard wears death masks , never takes them off around others. And now GW gives them no helmet heads ? Wtf
the new SG look like they're going to be VERY samey if you run a heavy SG list. each pose is rather conspicuous, resulting in a sense of "twinsies".

Worst models I have ever seen from GW. No wings, bad poses super bland, lost all of the flavor, huge disappointment for true BA fans. They could have just given the Assault Intercessors an upgrade sprue and called it a day. I am so glad I have a regular squad of 10 in my collection, looks like I will be using the old kit for a LONG time.
It's a solid mid. The Sanguinor is everything a update needs to be just a refresh witt no risk taken. The guard bodies are nice but very generic from what it could be. Wished it was a 5 man squad as I'd be using these for conversions.
Bit sad about the loss of wings. Also think the sanguinor jump pack would look better on the sanguinary guard. Love they have spears now. Will probably change heads and maybe jump packs for them.

The fact that you can say that there is nothing sanguineary guardy about the new kitt means that it sucks.
I think I could get on board with the plainer Death Company - after all why would you adorn a soldier who is literally aiming for suicide? But the Sang Guard should be bejewelled to the max. Artistry is one of the fundamental tenets of the 9th and I expect them to have beautiful and highly personalised armour and they don’t. And when you compare it to the elites given to the Black Templars and the Dark Angels these are not good enough imo. That’s not to say I don’t like the aesthetic, but they aren’t Sang Guard to me. If I buy some it’ll be because they have the same aesthetic as the new Captain which means these are likely to be a cheaper way of getting characters rather than buying the captain sculpt.

As a blood angels collector who cares much more about visuals than competitiveness or rules, these MAY end up as bases for kitbashes to make proper marines. These look worse than many printable proxies I have seen

I think a lot comes from how awfully slow the Primaris conversion is. So you constantly compare the very overload firstborn style with the slick Primaris style, making both look weird.
Sanguinor is a lot worse the old one looks like it’s being lifted up new ones just dumb floating
I was never a fan of the old Guard, too short and stubby with giant heads, peak Heroic scale. I can understand the new simpler ones (and the lore fits fine- the Tyranids ate all the firstborn ones during the Devastation of Baal!), though I think their waist is too thick? I feel they should be a bit thinner and elegant, more angelic?? The Sanguinor is fine, except the helmet, I hate it so far. The Dante novel describes its helmet as a crying Sanguinius (complete with golden tears rolling down its cheeks), a perfect counterpart to the furious Sanguinius helmet that Dante wears. Oh well. I might put the old head on the new body if I ever get it.
I might be in a minority here, but to me, lack of those goofy-ass wings is an absolute win. As well as tactical armor nips.

How hard is it to print the detailed bits? all they needed to do was upscale a little, it cant be that hard.
from what I can tell, the resin they use for 3d printing (like most other resin) is brittle, so harder to cast, so a lot of the new 40k stuff is really smoothed off and im just kidding, its not that hard this is just some creative lead being real anal about every marine looking as similar to each other as possible, excpet adeptus ren-fair and their leader lionel.
The sanguinary guard are awful. They didn't respect the original models at all. Plus the poses are really flamboyant. The faces on new Blood Angels look like there emaciated

Sanguinor is great, except for the head. But it's easily fixable, just print and swap in a more cherub like baby face for that Jesus look.
Sanguinary guard.. just what were they thinking? Wings missing, bald stormcast heads, awkward poses + I really dislike that all jump pack primaris look like they're tipping over a tactical rock. Why can't they just stand there? No need for action man poses.
The Stockholm syndrome on this channel is off the charts. GW will continue to make sub par miniatures (and rules, and lore...) exactly as long as you continue to cope and make excuses for them.

I think the non metalic metal works on the Sanguinor, but the guard real metallic metal, looks like a rushed job. Really don't like it.
I disagree about Sanguinor head. I think it's really kinda ugly straight on and the sculpted hair is TOO much. the wings I agree the lack of organic feel is a little disappointing. the single thruster backpack is awesome.
Sanguinary guard are massively disappointing. The lack of wings is an automatic fail for me. There was no reason to do a double thruster backpack when they had a single thruster with a great wing spot ready to go, they coulda just had smaller wings for these guys. I think the poses are a little bit weightless except for the throwing spear guy. the spears overall are pretty legit, but overall not a fan of them compared to the old kit. I think the wings were the single most important part of the old kit so the fact that they're missing is really frustrating.
i have to say that i dislike the helmet of the sanguinor. the old helmet was more lifeless. more ghost-like. and i am sad, that those jump pack wings are gone.
but my main dislike is that there are only 3 marines in one box.

The helmet of the sanguinary guards are not good, the mouth too, the gothic aesthetic is missing, it's much too neutral, I don't recognize the warhammer 40 spirit in this model, it clearly needs to be aware of the rotten path they are taking.
I think these new models are great, can't wait to get them. I think for Sanguinary Guard I will mostly use the heads with no helmet and I have a few of the death masks from the old first born upgrade sprue knocking about so might use these as they are less Stormcasty.
Overall very happy with all the new blood angel stuff. Looking forward to the new combat patrol next week, and whatever is announced tomorrow...

Is the Primaris controversy largely due to sunk costs into existing armies? Because the "Firstborn" models look shit to me with their funky squat proportions.
i think its more to do with how bland the primaris are, scale is better on primaris, but design is a lot more shit. most fan media for space marines use the objectivley better looking mouth grills, or beaky helmets, new GW style sheets are "make it look like a bike helmet with "grillz" and smooth over all the features so its as bland as possible. theres no soul there, except for the dark angels who they poured a lot of efort into with capes, bangles, shields their own unique terminators etc.
this just looks like they half assed it for no reason.
I’m actually ok with the ‘wingless’ sanguinary guard. It always seemed a bit too OTT on the old models.
The new sanguinor does the job. Something off about the face though.
Thinking some of the new sculpts are probably let down a bit by the slightly rushed paint jobs.
I know I’m in the minority here, but I love the new SG. I never liked the wings, and I adore this update!
Sanguinor wings look like garbage, his face is bizarre, his purity seals look worse than the curves of the original sculpt and his armor should have stayed old school style just proportioned up.
Overall this is a pretty disappointing release of updated sculpts, I’m glad I don’t play or collect blood angels because if I did I’d want to stick to the old sculpts over all of these very lazy bland looking refreshes. I just hope they don’t screw up future space marine refresheszz

I love the armor, It's exactly what i wanted. A mix between the previous ornate armor (which i felt was a bit TOO busy) and the new mark X. However that armor should have been for the regular primaris marines in the combat patrol. For the Sanguinary Guard they could have done a lot more and make more unique pieces. And at a massive 50euro a box for 3 models GW can shove those spears someplace the emperor's light doesn't reach.
The wings had character but I don’t think they looked good. If the new sculpt had wings they would completely overpower Dante and the new jump captain, clearly they modeled them to give some parity.
That said, they look like Stormcast like hell.

That head on the Sanguinor is awful. What a horrible design. The new Sanguinary Guard are terrible as well. They have this weird, rounded belt pouch that makes their waists look too obtuse and bloated. Grenades, knives, phials of blood, and purity seals are the only things that should be on Sanguinary Guards' waists. These new models are really disappointing. And, where in hell are their angel wings? Why did they do away with these? The death masks are abysmal as well.
Oh! and the Sanguinor's wings are trash! Holy cow, these things are bland and suck. Feathered wings is the only way to go, even if they're still vaguely mechanical, putting feathered wings is the best approach to this concept. What they did here is just goofy and stupid looking.

Eh, they look perfectly fine. They dont look stunning or anything, but they started out as ugly models, so no one should have been expecting as such.
