@@Johnacegaynor it’s not the end of the story. I was never a big Mayweather fan either. I found many of his fights too defensive. His defence first, was smart, and he won the boxing match which is the name of the game. Sometimes it’s not exciting to watch, especially when both fighters are defence first. Professional Boxers want to have lots of fans wanting to pay to see their fights, and be exciting to watch. In close fighting doesn’t have to be all clutch/grab. Think Mickey Ward/Arturo Gatti… fight of the year, and sold a ton of views. Made both guys stars and rich. And those fights were fought very close, without much holding unless they both wanted a rest.
Emanuel Lopez Boxing is a money racket and most money rackets are fixed to make the most $$.. It's not that the Judging is bad it's that the Judges are on the take and are bribed by Promoters or whoever is making the money to fix their scores.. Whichever fighter has the potential to make the most money in future bouts will usually Always get the nod in a decision and when BOTH fighters are Big Money earners for their promoters the fight is fixed for a Rematch so that the fans will pay to see a bad decision loser gain his revenge on a so called winner.. And it has gotten so blatant that it's not even hidden anymore..
The amount of points that should of been deducted for excessive holding is astonishing. Robbery at its finest. Round 7 and 8 were clear Collazo rounds. Commentators gave it to him because he's "aggressive", that's a laugh. Effective aggressiveness is what we're looking for fellas. Definite bias with the commentators notice the usage of the words " Intensity " and " relentlessness" but at no point they they mention Collazos 3 piece combination punches. Seriously rewatch 7 and 8 muted.
There was some bias, but your point about rounds 7 and 8 just aren't true IMO. For example, look at this boxing scorecard website: eyeonthering.com/boxing/british-are-back-luis-collazo-vs-ricky-hatton Almost no one said Collazo won those rounds.
@@markshoe5192 those are irrelevant scorecards of fans who were spoon fed the commentators pro-Hatton “let’s build that mega fight with Mayweather” narrative. Of course, they’re cluelessly gonna listen to whatever the commentators say. Ricky was hitting air both round 7 and 8. Seriously, watch it objectively. Collazo was scoring on the back foot while Hatton was tying Collazo up and hitting while holding. Slow it down if you need to. The untrained eye will 100% miss the beautiful boxing collazo put on that round and give the round to hatton because the commentators felt he needed it.
@@markshoe5192 for every one punch Hatton lands or so it appears to land due to collazos strategy of parrying and rolling with the punches, collazo lands 5. His defense was put on full display. Take @34:10 for instance
Collazo got the fight stolen from him there, and with Khan the same thing happened almost because Khan just kept holding after he threw a punch. I get that you need strategy, but that's not fighting, that's hit and tie/run... In other words, it's cowardly.
***** One of the WORST fighters I've ever seen fight with single punches, besides Pretty Boy, is Hopkins who after every single punch he clinches..Most over rated boxer even tho ya gotta like the guy considering his age 'n' all, tho he is a very good defensive fighter, again like Pretty Boy..
Hatton won this but he forgot to keep moving his head in the later rounds and paid by taking some big left hands by Collazo. Collazo is a highly underrated fighter I thought he beat Berto, looking forward to seeing Collazo vs Ortiz my money is on Collazo.
Hatton lost this fight.Even though he came forward with shots he was missing with more than several and when they landed it never moved Collazo apart from that little clip in the 1st.But Hatton was decked in the 11th no knocked down given and got bashed up in the 12th,Overall,Collazo shaded it imo by a point.
Cantona Keane Of course Hatton didn't lose it. First, he wasn't knocked down at all in the 11th, if you mean the 12th, you should watch it again. He gets hit with a solid punch but is wrestled to the canvas, not knocked down - 0:54:58. The referee correctly doesn't award a knockdown because it isn't one. As for the scoring, Hatton threw more punches, landed more punches and had a higher point-scoring percentage overall. Just look at 1:01:57 - the judges got this exactly right.
Tony England Hatton got caught by a left hook mate, knockdown not given.Collazo showed more power than Hatton hurting him in the 12 rd.Them last 2 rds esp swung it for him imo.But you know,on his performance against Mayweather,he would of beaten Collazo comprehensively but he didn`t in this fight.
He might have had more power in this fight but winning the last two rounds of a fight after being dominated for 10 doesn't make Collazo the winner. Ok he did have good defence, Hatton didn't connect with a high percentage of his shots but he landed more than Collazo did, simply because Collazo was preoccupied with defending. He didn't attack enough and he only really started countering and timing Hatton effectively in the 11 round. I think if the fight had gone another round he would of stopped Hatton but there is no 13th round anymore. I do think Hatton underestimated Collazo as do a lot of fighters and I think Ortiz will find this out too if Collazo still the same man. Imo Collazo beat Berto.
well said. Styles make fights. The beauty of boxing is the diversity in styles. I think boxing would be a BORING sport in itself if everyone had the same style and just "boxed" or was a "counter-puncher" or a slugger, etc.
If he pumped that jab like a jack hammer straight into Hatton face and followed it with left crosses and uppercut, Hatton was wide open no defense at all.
Hatton is one of the worst one dimensional fighter’s I’ve ever seen. He comes in the same, throws a couple of punches and then grabs, pressing his head against the other guy, and tries a pin them against the ropes. The referee is forced to break them up every few seconds ! He has no understanding of distancing or space. He did this against an aged Tszu. He really is horrible to watch. The best thing to be said about Hatton is that he has come as far as he has off such limited talent!
It must be upsetting for solid American fighters like Collazo and Hopkins to get robbed of their victories and belts by UK promoted fighters with special interests. These are title fights. You have to do more to win and take their belts. Look at Calzaghe v Bhop. He barely landed a glove on him and they took his belt. Same here with Collazo. He controlled the fight. And they took the belt from him. All because promoters wanted to make bigger coin from the UK fighters down the line. They were building towards Hatton Mayweather. Big money fight selling huge PPV in the UK. Same with Calzaghe and Roy Jones. So they stepped on these good American fighters to make those fights happen. So disappointing.
Look at the punch stats to see how full of shit you are lol Hatton set the pace for 90% of the fight. Threw more and landed more, All the people who know boxing had him ahead.

@@peterparsons7141 fighting in and out of the clinch is part of the game and a rule alot of people forget is allowed if you got one arm free you let the fighters fight out of the clinch im guesssing that fat cheater Joe Cortez forgot that when the mayweather camp paid his fat ass off
@@peterparsons7141 clinch is part of the game. it either works or it doesnt. same with maywetaher who moves and mostly only counters. it takes the excitement out the fight but it works end of story.
I thought Collazo won this fight actually

this is the usa hatton is from the uk how is it a hometown decision
Hatton lost
COLLAZO WAS PROGRAMMED TO LOSE IN THIS CORRUPT BOXING WORLD. BUT PUNCHING SO HARD SOMETIMES, ALMOST MESS THE DIRTY PLAY.
They gave the fight to Hatton...so they can make the Floyd fight...
He didn't fight Floyd next...
For example, look at this boxing scorecard website: eyeonthering.com/boxing/british-are-back-luis-collazo-vs-ricky-hatton
Almost no one said Collazo won those rounds.
@@markshoe5192 @34:37 nothing lands but “Hatton trying to make an imprint again”
The warning sighns were here
Hatton won by a point
Collazo got the fight stolen from him there, and with Khan the same thing happened almost because Khan just kept holding after he threw a punch. I get that you need strategy, but that's not fighting, that's hit and tie/run... In other words, it's cowardly.
***** One of the WORST fighters I've ever seen fight with single punches, besides Pretty Boy, is Hopkins who after every single punch he clinches..Most over rated boxer even tho ya gotta like the guy considering his age 'n' all, tho he is a very good defensive fighter, again like Pretty Boy..
@@Skorzeny64 same with hatton
Hatton had no business at 147, the true fighters were those who fought Hatton at his best, in 140.
He killed himself to make 140.
Good fight
Stepping up to 10 1/2 stone Hatton took in his stride.
moving up lol more like having to lose less weight, Hatton was a hungry boy
Hatton no match against paquiao he sleep very early
Hatton clearly lost this fight and was gifted. Hatton sucked at 147 period.
I had this fight a draw. Nonetheless, the belt should not change hands from this performance. To take the belt you need to really beat the champ.
No Robbery 115-112 Hatton
I scored the same as you
Robbery
Ricky the clinchman Hatton most overrated boxer ever
Hatton - hold, punch; hold,punch; hold,punch....
Cantona Keane
Of course Hatton didn't lose it.
Imo Collazo beat Berto.
the beginning knockdown was so random lol!
hatton landed more punches, he won
collazo win
бокс Рикки-это поединок ротвейлера с фонарным столбом и,единственное,что здесь отличного-когда Хаттона колотят
Horrible ref. Hatton got away with a lot of calls for holding. Wow. Unbelievable.
collazo won that fight
well said. Styles make fights. The beauty of boxing is the diversity in styles. I think boxing would be a BORING sport in itself if everyone had the same style and just "boxed" or was a "counter-puncher" or a slugger, etc.
England fighters are hype untill they fight Americans ..collazo win this fight
Collazo lost this fight, and at the weekend against british fighter amir khan. In fact, has collazo ever beaten any brit? Haha.
the first round ko was the key , if was'n that it would be a draw
Un guerrero Irlamdes
Very underrated win this. I think Hatton nicked it by 2 points. Very close though!
Pagaría por verlo de nuevo no te aburrías siempre atento
hatton legend..
If he pumped that jab like a jack hammer straight into Hatton face and followed it with left crosses and uppercut, Hatton was wide open no defense at all.
ricky the man hatton,,,
Hatton is one of the worst one dimensional fighter’s I’ve ever seen.
The only reason people say hatton lost this is cos he got rocked a couple of times

..The Bitter Look Towards R. H.
(At The Last Sec. Of The Video)
So disappointing.
biggest load of shite iv ever heard
Look at the punch stats to see how full of shit you are lol Hatton set the pace for 90% of the fight. Threw more and landed more, All the people who know boxing had him ahead.
hatton was and is a fucking legend he trouble with southpaws alaways has but took the fight anyway and won collazo didn't know what hit him in the first few rounds rickys a tank all heart.
I had Hatton winning 6 or 7 rounds so he gets the win here.
I scored it for Hatton 6 rounds to 4 with 2 rounds even.
Hatton el peleador Inglés más cochino de la historia ,me dio gusto el día que cayó fulminado por el Pacman
No problem with this decision. I had the rounds even, but the knockdown in the first round was the difference to me.
Ellerby& Jr. saw Hatton at 140 and said "No Way!"
Then they saw this fight and said "Do it at 147 with Cortez as Ref!"
Sorry to inform you BUT IT WAS TEAM HATTON WHO SAYS NO TO FLOYD AT 140. And I can't blame them because Hatton has just won his first legitimate world title and it was too risky for them to immediately give him to a world class fighters like Mayweather.
@@raulratonmacias1377 to be clear; you feel that Team Hatton preferred this match be at 147lbs, rather than lighter?
