There you are Colin! Good to hear from you. Been enjoying your footage too. Van Gogh is nuts! never seen such a long tine straight off the head like that. Hope he sticks around. Thanks for being part of the journey!!
Van Gogh does have some unusual antlers. He is a big boy. The shedding of the velvet is pretty cool. I bet they hate it. It must be so annoying. Can't wait for the sparring. ❤❤🫎🫎👑👑☕️☕️
Hi there. This has been brought up. So far, it's always been when viewed on a phone....switching to an ipad or laptop does the trick. Let us know if you can give that a try. We appreciate you pointing that out.
The Moose (Alces alces), also known as the black deer is a large deer species native to Eurasia and North America, it is the world's largest living deer species, it is the sole extant member of its genus and the subtribe Alceina that belongs to the tribe Capreolini of the subfamily Cervinae (Old World Deer), with the roe deer (genus Capreolus) that are the sole extant genus of the subtribe Capreolina being the closest living relatives of the moose, the moose is one of the only few pecorans to have a proboscis, the other being the saiga antelope (Saiga tatarica), there are over ten recognized moose subspecies: the †Caucasian Moose (Alces alces caucasicus), the South European Moose (Alces alces polandensis), the North European Moose (Alces alces alces), the Central Asian Moose (Alces alces pfizenmayeri), the Amur Moose (Alces alces cameloides), the Chukotka Moose (Alces alces buturlini), the Alaskan Moose (Alces alces gigas), the Rocky Mountain Moose (Alces alces andersoni), the Yellowstone Moose (Alces alces shirasi), and the Algonquin Moose (Alces alces americanus).
Hello, we don't have any audio of it, but years ago I've heard cow moose do huge "air expulsions" usually when they are telling their calf to stay put. Never heard a bull do it but they most likely can.
Also...don't be fooled by those documentaries with audio (but never ever video proof) of moose sounding like bears. They do not. Like Rick answered before, the cows will "bark" at their calves in alarm or to command. That I've heard, but never ever ever a carnivorous growl as some documentaries will have you believe. Shame on them!
Home to see you out in the field in a couple of weeks!
What an incedible bull Van Gogh is! I need a sick day to catch up on all your videos. Amazing work!!!!!

I read a study that moose can roar like a carnivore. I can't seem to find footage of this. Would you have any?
