I love that you are trying. I truly hope you build one and become successful

A small 20 water tanks and then plumb the compressed air in the top of it. They hold 120psi all day. I have made a spray system out of a water tank and charged with 120 psi. As long as you have a pop off just in case. I know people will say how they are not rated for it and blah blah. My dad has a air compressor with a hot water tank for the last 20 yrs. The spray system I built was almost 20yrs ago and still in use commercial use every day since. Anyway you get a tank made to hold water and your preheat in one. Then my other thought would be to make a deflector cone to go at the end of your coil in the center to force some heat back into the coil so it's not blowing straight through. Like the deflector in the center of the torpedo heaters. But I love it and see one in my future. I clean old cars so they can be flipped this would be awesome.

a refrigeration compressor is not an air compressor. A refrigeration compressor will pass a small amount of oil out the discharge end until the compressor runs out of oil, it will seize shortly after that. Refrigeration systems circulate a small amount of oil with the refrigerant. Its just how they work.

The air and water pressure will be equal inside the tank. The pressure at the nozzle will be equal to tank pressure +/- any gravity effect (you can probably ignore that unless you're going up a ladder with the nozzle) - any frictional losses in the hose and coil.

Okay, so I stopped tgis at 18:17 before I forget what i wanted to say.
Looks like the preheater is a great idea. However, using an incandescent lightbulb of any kind around water is asking for the bulb to explode, Unless completely sealed from the environment like the bulb in an oven. It would only take one drop of condensed water to do it too.
All in all, still a brilliant idea.
I also think if you put a cage around the water coils, it would help stabilize the flame and engulf tbe coils. Just look at how a bug fogger work's

Yes i agree, the bulb was from another project thought id give it a try , i dont think its gonna work but for $3 it was worth a try

need to correct you real quick the fourine/chlorine (depending on country) isn't the problem when it comes to rust it's the minute quantities of sodium potassium and other trace minerals in the water that make it slightly conductive which as i am sure you are aware causes a galvanic current which strips away the iron's electrons

    • @NOBOX7
      @NOBOX7  6 лет назад

      it was a joke

i was mostly referring to the build up of calcium deposited and things like that , it will insulate the coil , but thank for the input brother no offence taken bro

Hey why don't you add the heat exchanger to a pressure and put that coil on a pressure washer nozzle with a bigger torch head

Nice to watch but you can build an electric steam generator and save money on fuel cost , it's bigger but worth it .

  • @mymorristribe

hmm, way different than I've been day-dreaming about. My plan was to take either a compressor tank or a propane tank, drill, tap and thread in a water heater 220v heating element, hot water tube connector and water inlet valve; then, fill it with water, plug it in, let the water boil and force the steam out of the tube to a nozzle. Figured if the boil was high enough, I'd have enough pressure and the nozzle would be the pressure release--like a boiling tea kettle. Crude, but I figure I can do that for under $100. Thoughts anyone?

Please dont try this , you are describing an extremely dangerous machine . Your problem will be the cost of the steam nozzle gun and hose . You could leave the old pressure switch on the unit to shut of the heating element . Your next problem will be power . 120 volt socket cannot provide much energy for a rapid heat up , your device could take 20 min to heat and may not be able to boil very much water in a timely manner . Trying to use a 240 volt system is gonna cost you big time unless you already have it set up .The device in thi video is about 4,000 watts of power . This unit is about 40,000 watts ruclips.net/video/utIUCGPLon8/видео.html

@@NOBOX7hmm, not sure why my idea is dangerous. It's basically just making hot water heater that will boil water and release the steam through a nozzle. 220V is what I have planned. Those propane heating nozzles are too bulky for my needs...but admittedly, they are really cool. I'll let you know how it turns out....or if you don't hear from me in a few months, maybe it blew up and well....rip. lol

Dear Mr. NoBox7, Actually your idea is an imitation for an industrial equipment called Steam Generator, which is a replacement for Steam Boiler. Which means that if you can perfection a little bit your product, and enclose it in a cylinder, you will be able to sell it as a small steam generator. All you need is to master one very simply equation: Heat needed to evaporate the flow of water to a certain level of steam (temp + pressure) = heat provided by the flow of incoming flow of fuel X efficiency

Much love. As far as pressure you have to include barometric pressure as well as elevation. That would be your two limiting factors or independent variables.

At 24:22 it looks like you had super heated steam. Like you could light a match with. I didn't see condensation for 5-6inch's after the nozzle

yes the device can produce super heated steam on very low flow

You can use one of those steam cleaners for clothes. They work well for small jobs and the hoses are long.

now you can use gasoline torch to heat it as map gas is expensive //one way inlet valve no compressor needed my water pressure is set at 85 psi at taps// yea i need one fer my 4200 psi washer but i be pore n ant got 1500 fer a ready made one damn dollar ant worth much.oh you got stuck woth oil less compressure i hate one years ago i hated it it quit at a bad time now i use a oil bath compressor build from dump ;] 220 volt tools no 110 volt air or welders

I'm so grateful that I ran across your videos looks like you've been making them for a while but I just discovered them. I just lost my eye in the pest control industry so I always let go from that job and since have invested my money into buying a commercial steam cleaner. Long story short I trusted someone on marketplace. That never really ends well does it. Well jokes on him I guess because I figure out how to build my own and it will be better than the one that I thought I would get. Thanks bud keep helping blue collar. Ain't you the proof that there's more than one way to skin a ..... well I'll leave that phrase Open ended don't need aspca knocking no doors down.
