I love houses in the Sims that have things that are more realistic like random window placement and mudrooms and stuff, I think it's really nice to have :)

Ikr? It's realistically not a big deal, but for some reason, it aggravates me to no end. I can't stand most of her "challenge" videos, because she changes things and cheats on most of them. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE CHALLENGE THEN, MY GOD. :D
I wish she would be a bit more creativ in these challenges and actually use the challenge to try something new.
@Karma Chameleon I feel the same way. I know it's just a game and there's no need to be to strict about it but I came to watch a floorplan be recreated in game. Seeing everything get changed irritates me so much. 😭

@@sisterseverus I think there are some people who complain when she uses too many packs and she wants to cater to people who can’t afford to buy them, which I understand, but as a content creator she’s gotta realize that her doing this is making her content on RUclips a bit stale. She’s done plenty of base game/limited pack builds already and there are tons on the gallery, she really doesn’t need to keep doing this, and I think there are more people that want to see her build with unlimited packs and budget than there are people who want the opposite.
Agreed the challenge was building the irl house, I was screaming when she was running out of money and stoped adding detail because of it.
This house would cost much more then 18k irl anyway.

@@larkspurjane It's not the Gallery, it's her Twitch chat :/ Full of kids who always complain how they can't afford packs. So weird bc it's not Kayla's problem, and it's not like she pays rent with gallery downloads lmao
@@Frenchaboo even then I think its possible, like she said when she does giveaways kits and stuff packs have way more people wanting them than things like seasons or smth, bc its harder to justify paying for little content so people mostly get eps. I personally dont like when there are so many gallery builds that use actually EVERY SINGLE pack but id love to see more like 3-5 pack or maybe even 7 pack builds. Like Cats and Dogs, Seasons and Parenthood or Get Famous+Luxury Party/Vintage glamour, packs that make sense together, gosh even an off the grid laundry day+Island living home, like thats way more likely used for play than a generic starter, of which there are so many already

I prefer these soooo much more than speed builds. I love building and love being walked through it slowly. I have light sensitivity and motion sickness, so as soon as I realize it's a speed build I have to click off or else I get nauseous and a headache. Thank you so much for doing these style building videos more.

I have the same problem with sped up footage. A lot of times I listen to her speed builds just to see what she's talking about but I don't watch them.
Yo! Same I thought it was just me. I think its the certain speed she uses. Its a little too fast and the spinning of the cam is too much.
Ive watched other speed builds with a slower speed and I can handle it.

I agree about the shelf with the dog leash from Cats and Dogs. Anytime I use it, I size it down once or twice because it is ridiculously large lol
Building tip that not a lot of people realize: you can put closets in walls.
also i usually use the dream home decorator shelves to make my own little closets
I really liked having the floorplan on the screen while you built helped to see what you were thinking while building
For decorating on a budget, no cc Gallery art is a builders best friend.
I love doing this. I always end up googling floor plans from house design services and then trying to recreate it. Very tricky given the grid system of TS4 and how unusual the scale is.

So I saw a comment on one of her recreating her real life house videos a while back where someone said each tile in the Sims is roughly equivalent to 3ft by 3ft in real life! (I’m unfortunately American, so I don’t know how to convert that to the metric system off the top of my head, I’m so sorry!) I’ve been using that suggestion every time I build based off of a floor plan and it’s been super helpful!

I never undersood why lilsimsie complains about how hard it is to make a nice build when she's the only one insisting on using the restrictions she's putting on herself.
Under every video there are at least a dozen comments asking her to stop limiting herself to just beige and blue base game/low fund builds and yet she insists on doing them but then acts frustrated or surprised when she ends up building another blue suburban house with the same layout like??? Just do something different then lol. Nobody's demanding for her to exclusively make these blue base game builds

If your looking for an innovative builder that has absolutely none of the issues just listed I'd recommend Syd Mac! I love her style of building and her prompts are always so fun and unique :)
Lots of anxiety will do that to a person, I think it's because her YT and Twitch audiences are very different and I'm not sure Kayla realizes that. Her Twitch chat is always full of kids and casual moms who don't know how to install CC and whine that they can't afford packs (if you can't afford something, it's not a creator's responsibility). Bc Kayla joined the community young she empathizes and feels like she has to make her builds accessible, but the game's been out for almost a decade, there are plenty of accessible builds and dare I say... more interesting ones (base game with TOOL mod and CC paintings, innovative custom furniture etc.). But I think she's gotten a lot better in that regard ever since Dan moved in so we shouldn't be too harsh on her.
And always the same furniture and brown kitchen!
Starter houses are great, but whenever im looking for a house on the gallery, its usually when you've already played with the family a bit and have like 30-60k, Id love more builds in that range! You grow out of the starter home so fast and like most people cheat for the money anyway

I built this one as a starter home with base game I changed the floor plan just a bit and turned the mud room/laundry area into like an “office” space
I thin it depends where and why this house is built. This floor plan would be perfect for a house in the countryside where a person takes care of animals and wants to have access to a door that leads them to the laundry room and bathroom more easily so they can shower rapidly and leave their clothes in the mudroom before showering.

There is a low lying debug that’s darker and matches more to the one you buy. It’s a little before the one w the bright leaves
As someone who adores mudrooms in my sim builds, I am very happy you ended up keeping it! I always think it looks so cute, "wasted" space or not!

Personally, I love being able to put the base game builds in my game as well (though i do have some dlc), but id love more builds with packs, like 2 eps and a game pack or something, not necessarily limited to only one pack, but 3-5 or smth.

Build challenge you CAN NOT use BLUE. You can mix this challenge with another challenge to make it harder but anything that is blue you can not use that swatch. Please do it!!!! Please!!!!
Have you ever tried to make a house with a granny flat? (Not sure if they're called that in America, but it's basically a mini flat attached to a house, where someone else can live independently but still be close by. Usually for a grandparent who can't live on their own any more, to move in with family but still live separately for privacy and independence.)
can't believe this is getting a lot of views when the content is similar to the other builds she's done and posted while there are other talented builders who are getting less views. i wished she'd listen and get more creative with the builds. its always the same base game blue suburban with a strict budget. the fact that she's earning too from building the same things??? it seems so lazy
That's why I unsubbed from her. Always the same aesthetic, the same items, the same colors. So little variation, boring to watch again and again.

I also love looking at floor plans. I have re-created many in the Sims. I have learned to round the sizes to the nearest yard (sometimes smaller than intended, usually larger). I have them saved in my personal gallery, so I can use them for my Sims.

it’s okay to not do budget builds, the average sims player plays with money cheats!!! also, i understand you do base game heavy builds to appeal to new players but this game has been out for over 8 years, a lot of us have more than just the base game.
Hi Simsie you should do a build challenge where you roll between like 1-100 and whichever number you get is the amount of times you can use that item. I’m not sure if this exists but I think it would be fun! (Like say you roll 5 for cabinets, you can only use 5 cabinets). It might get chaotic which would be fun to see 😄

i really like these videos where you recreate something from real life so i was thinking what if you recreate a real life house AND you have to make it the same amount of money as it is in real life (furnished in the sims of course)!
The bathroom can work as in the floor plan but you need to place the spout and taps up the other end.
For future reference encase you ever want to build a floor plan to scale in the sims. Sims grid squares are 2 foot by 2 foot. So for the Sims twin bed that covers 1 x 3 tiles, it would be 2 foot by 6 foot irl. So like the bedroom in this floor plan you're using today would be 5 x 4 tiles to be as close to the floor plan as possible ^_^

I've actually used this exact floor plan to make a sims house!!
I think having realistic rooms like a mudrooms even in starter homes are nice. It gives variety from the usual starter homes and opportunity to use packs such as laundry day. There's already a lot of stater home with computers to choose from. Plus I never feel like the computer is that necessary in the sims 4. You can do many things from the phone and if you need to use a computer you can go to community lot with those. Plus you can even get a laptop to use in that island without buying a desk.
Anyone else getting tired of the base game and budget builds? I feel like I'm watching the same thing again and again

This is amusingly close to an irl floorplan I helped work on a few years back. Squares gunna square, I guess x'D On moving a door once it's already put into place, it's not actually super difficult, just time consuming and financially annoying, not because it's obscenely expensive, but because there's the tedious costs of:
-The door (hopefully you don't damage it)
-The initial drywall
-Labor for initial door+drywall install
-Labor for safely removing the door and destroying the drywall you just put up in the door's new location
-Brand new drywall to cover up the door's old location
-Labor for door and drywall reinstallation
Granted, this is assuming that you wait to change your mind on door locations until after the drywall is up, instead of while the whole building is still gutted and ready for anything.
That's really cute. I like the tiny living homes but a lot of premade one's have the murphy bed and my Sims have bad luck with those. lol. You should make a tiny living family home where you have a couple with one child in a tiny home.
That awkward empty space in the living room would have been great to put the computer desk back & the book stack. 2 birds one stone
That long 5 by 2 bathroom you almost had reminded me that once I stayed in a hotel where, if it were built in the Sims, it would have had a 5 by 2 bathroom 🤣 The thing was long as heck and had no business being that big

This house is half the size of mine haha. Just stack it into a cube, basically. Feels so small with two adults with hobbies and two large dogs.

This floor plan is very realistic. Where I’m from it would be flipped though, so the mud room is the main entrance. I guess it’s common in many countries where its common to take off one’s shoes at the door. I’m thinking Scandinavia and Japan. You don’t want wet or snowy boots inside. Too messy. 😅

I always put laptop or computers on the island bar top and could of put a trash can in the bathroom. Sims always eat on the couch anyways and they can still sit in that spot on the island and eat. Also could of used counters in the bathroom to take up more space and make it look more luxurious, like a master bath.

You could have put a desk at the back of the sofa. I sometimes do that in my builds if I don't have much space. Also you can scoot the sofa a bit closer to the tv and the sims still have room to walk around it.

What you can do to make it work, is to make the mudroom the bathroom, and make it shorter, then take what would have been the bathroom knock out the wall and make it part of the bedroom. That way you can have a bigger bedroom and a bigger livingroom. The kitchen is fine where it is, it will be divided b a breakfast bar.
Yesterday i started the 100 baby challenge and wanted to download a house from the gallery and i saw this one and thought it was an old build. Cut to me watching this video and realizing it's the house i'm playing in lmao

New challenge idea: floor plan challenge but your budget for building the house and interior is the cost of the house irl (maybe scoot the comma over to the left one to make it more feasible for the sims)
