This game and everything you see here is mainly being made by 3 people and on public funds. The full game will have every single room of the ship recreated and have a storyline that ends with the ship sinking in real-time. Support it if you can!
I really doubt those 3 guys will be able to make a ship sinking mechanic and add physics to every single static object that we have seen (which are all of them). Also adding characters, animations and physics to the characters will demand A LOT of time and skill. So, so far I won't support them because it seems waaaay out of reach.
So beautiful, wish my grandpa was alive to see this, he loved to study about the Titanic he even had like little Titanic ships and books, he would've loved this video.
Photo-realism is indeed achieved at times, but there are some funky things going on in those windows at the beginning! And the town looks really sparse and fake looking. Not dirty enough. What a massive project to undertake though! It's easy to be an armchair critic like me. Not so easy to put together a massive simulation like this.
I imagine they didn't strain themselves _too_ much on the town here, and I can't really blame them. This is _Belfast,_ which isn't going to be in the final game. The primary focus of this demo is the available areas of the ship. I'm sure Southampton will have plenty of litter and puddles and stuff here and there to flush it out and make it feel more lived-in. Plus, the NPCs should help.
I wish they would actually create a single player campaign that includes quests given by NPC's. I know that's not the point of this 'game' but the foundation here is so great not to include .
They're working on a story mode. It's going to involve a young man accused of a crime he didn't commit, and his only hope of proving his innocence is chasing his only lead: the real criminals are fleeing Europe on the Titanic.
Quick flash of the desktop and settings screen at 1:17. Right at the beginning of the "oh" in "so" in "trials began months ago so" (or whatever). Again at 2:17, 3:17, 4:17
I`ve had relatives who were on the Titanic when she sank. It is quite fascinating and emotionally touching to see what they must have seen so long ago. Thank you very much for creating this game!
I will highlight a word from the title: DEMO it's a DEMO. the game isnt finished yet....it will have over 200 real people on the ship plus generic NPC's to fill the ship...
For Goodnesssake someone please hire these three men who made this. They did such an amazing job with not only the graphics but with the soundtrack as well. I felt like I was actually in 1912. Such a cozy feel the game gives off.

Amazing im from belfast born and raised i love this concept and proud to be from here. Through out the troubles and the recovery i could not see myself living anywhere else i want to travel the world but belfast is somewhere i will never leave for good! Thank you for this
imagine, 64 players at the start of the game, all physics based and stuff you get to explore and all that, like gmod almost. and the ship crashes and the only goal is to survive. each week they could add updates to lore and such, maybe cosmetics and customizable characters? or maybe a full singleplayer experience of the story of jack and rose? ugh a big company needs to get their hands on this asap
Vinthie Vinthie That's not how this game is going to work. It's going to have a single player campaign which will NOT include jack/Rose (those are fictional characters, no reason to include them) and this game should never be acquired by any big game company, it should be completed by the people who are currently working on it since they actually care about the project as opposed to just the money it'd make.
Half-Life Scientist i just feel like they arent fully equipped to make the game that we the players want, i feel like a big developer could actually understand how to make the game appeal to an actual audience of gamers on console and pc. Yeah it looks good on screen. But how much could these couple of guys actually accomplish. Hundreds of millions of dollars are poured into games for a reason, it may not be what you want but it'll be what the gamers as a whole will accept.
While the commentary is cringey (utterly terrible attempt at sounding like a Brit), the models are absolutely terrific! Such attention to detail. It's pretty clear the people who put this together care an awful lot about their work. Photo-realistic, nah. It's clear almost immediately that it's synthetic. No matter, it still makes for a good gaming engine.
the music has to be my favourite part of the game, the whole area of Belfast is ingrained into the game and when inside the ship, it gives you a sense of majesty but also a feeling of unknown certainty.
I get such an eerie feeling just from watching this. Just knowing that thousands of people walked through that ship blissfully unaware of what awaited them.
Amazing work from 3 guys. Goes to show how far engines have come to allow for such streamlined, yet quality development from such a small dedicated team.
"I envy these people in the lower class." Uh... Not for very long. Oh and why are there so many people in the comments just nitpicking every tiny insignificant detail in this DEMO? Keyword: DEMO. Like how the dock looks too clean or the water reflection isn't right. Can't we just agree that the rest and most important graphics, the ship itself, are absolutely stunning and that clearly someone put a lot of time, care and effort into designing all of it? My only personal criticism is the constant narration. It doesn't really need to be there lol. Here we are walking through this gorgeous ship with soft beautiful music in the background and then all of a sudden this guy just starts rambling lol. Kind of sucks you out of the immersion pretty quickly.
Textures are pretty high quality. Sure you could add details but then again this is the titanic we are talking about, I doubt there was any wear and tear. Maybe tessellating the woodwork on the walls but that would probably make you run at 2 fps lel.
The use of those pop up signs seem really out of place. I think have sign posts for rooms would be much better as it adds immersion rather than taking away from it. I'm also not a fan of this guys voice. It sounds way too forced and not natural. Other than that this is looking great.

Feels like so,e serious immersive asmr with the beautiful arrangement accompaniment along with the lighting and mood of the inside ship and narration, really brings one into the world
My great grandmother was supposed to board the Titanic. Had tickets and everything. Her vaccinations weren't up to date though so she and the family couldn't board. Phew. I might not have been here if they were up to date.
I hope they license this model out and remake Titanic Adventure out of time, or another game where you play as a detective trying to solve a murder and have to navigate the entire ship to solve it.
If I saw Isidor and Ida Straus in this game then I would start crying. I encourage everyone to look them up but in short: Isidor Straus was the co-owner of Macy's at the time and Rosalie Ida Blun was his wife. When the first evacuations were underway when the Titanic began to sink, women and children were offered first seating. Ida refused to be seated saying, "I will not be separated from my husband. As we have lived, so will we die, together." When Isidor was offered an exception to be seated with his wife, he also refused, saying, "I will not go before the other men." Instead, their place on the lifeboat was given to their housemaid whom Ida even gave her, her own fur coat. They died sadly on the ship as it sank. So devoted to each other in life till death, as their vowels stated. They were an inspiration to all of love and devotion. Isidor Straus's body was recovered and he is now at his final resting place in New York City, a block away from where he and his wife lived. Ida's body has not been found but an urn of water from the Titanic wreckage is placed beside her husband so that they be together forever. It is unknown if they died embracing, as was depicted in the 1997 movie "Titanic" but it's a symbol of their love to each other. Isidor and Ida Staus had 7 children (one died after birth) and they now carry on their parents legacy and proof of their love and devotion.
Was hoping for some fluid dynamic simulation in this video )) Sorry, bad joke. To the point: interiors of the ship are looking really really good. I'd say there is no need to improve it much further. Exteriors however are waaaay simpler in terms of geometry detail, the grass is just not good as how it is right now. Some geometry is not casting any shadow on the ground. Some wood materials looks wrong. But, as soon as you're inside - it is a delight! It's not fair to expect much bigger terrain to have same level of detail as much smaller interior, but, since interior is THAT good, it gives very negative contrast to exterior's level of detail.
i agree, i really hope every area of this gets the same amount of detail as the ship. hopefully the voice gets worked on, and for some reason i feel it'd be better in third person? i wanna see some good animation, like on the detroit become human level of animation. but one can only dream
You're probably right, however these guys are on a shoestring budget. If you let them know what it really looked like back then they might be able to implement it.
@@TigerMeadows These guys have taken several trips to Belfast over the course of development, have met with several historians and have referenced dozens of photographs. I think they're closer to a 1912 recreation than anybody else.
*It’s been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in. Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.*
“I count it lucky that I didn’t have the price to go abroad this year. If all of us who ‘just missed it’ had got aboard the Titanic she would have sunk at the Liverpool dock from the overload.”
You can see an image pop out of nowhere at 11:30 - 11:32 I had just spent the past 6 or so minutes playing the video on .25 and pausing it every other frame. It turns out it was just this dudes desktop...
If this game was pushed further into more details, storytelling and some action , I would play it. For example , instead of following the famous story, why not chose your own and depending on the choices you make, it could have the sinking ending or any other like, killed, survived or the ship doesn't sink at all. Or if you add a serial killer or something, would be cool too. Not just another simulation game. It would be fun if there was a game with titanic as main idea but with a twist and some creative sides on it.
different achievable endings sounds fine, but not a serial killer imo. what’s the point of adding a serial killer to a famous story about a boat sinking? if you’re going to make a game about a real event you shouldn’t have the focus be on a fictional concept that you inserted.
So just out of curiosity, and I know this might sound dumb. But did they recreate the inside of the ship exactly how it was? I know maybe some parts were made up because of lack of information, perhaps.
Nothing was "made up" the recreation is very accurate. Most of the information to do so is out there, though some is tough to find. Just about everybody who's anybody in terms of Titanic knowledge and research in the world is directly or indirectly involved as a consultant or had their work referenced. They've used first hand accounts, photos and plans from the Titanic itself wherever possible. Where they didn't have those they used the same from sister ships Olympic and Britannic. Where they couldn't get those they based it off White Star Line and Harland & Wolff standards of that era.
+Andrew 77 The fact that Titanic's plans can't be found online. Many websites will claim to have Titanic's plans but will actually show plans of Olympic. I think in a behind-the-scene bit for James Cameron's Titanic, someone mentioned the plans being lost.
This demo is incredible. I dabble in game dev, but this is far beyond my skill level. Take my constructive criticism with a grain of salt: *Photorealism is achieved momentarily, but it's not constant. The demo feels very whitewashed, there definitely needs to be more contrast. This should help to bring out more of the texturing * There seems like a lack of reflections on the hull at the beginning, and it makes the ship look like clay. This same problem exists with some of the hard flooring, and pretty much every polished wood surface. * Considering this is definitely going to be a very game, it'd be really cool of you could move your hands in game (make it work with those hand motion sensors that everyone loves despite the fact that they're just fancy Xbox kinnects. If you look down, you should be able to see yourself. I hate when games don't make this possible. * You should be able to turn faucets on and off, flush toilets, and toggle switches. It may be a small detail but it makes the ship feel a little more alive * I urge you, the reader, or you, the developer (depending on who you are) to make a donation to the SS United States conservancy. SSUS is one of the last saveable ocean liners, and is going to be scrapped soon. Any donation, be it percentage based or a fixed amount, no matter how small, is helping to save history. Seriously, Google SS United States.
Pile Of George you may go to Titanic Honor and Glory's RUclips and leave this comment there, so they'll be able to see it. The Titanic Honor and Glory project is basically 3 guys with a huge love and a lot of respect for the story of the titanic working on public funds. They're doing really well all things considered lol
Amy Williams already pre-ordered. I'd rather leave their actual videos alone. They deserve nothing more than support, but if they're reading comments on other videos, it'd mean they're looking for feedback 😂 I'm just going to keep playing the demo over and over again
How crazy.. Some times I can't believe how far we have come. So weird to experience something we can only imagine in the past. But to make it real again? Jesus
Pilzmann yea bro i know that, like after i download them and extract it so i just opened them like that ?? i tried the super Mario sunshine version but it didn’t work i don’t know how to open the game file
Please work on crowd and people details in the beginning. There was so much excitement and joy witnessing the greatest ship ever built departing on its first travel.
in the final release, it'd be a nice option to turn the pop ups that display info on or off. It kinda takes away from the experience of walking in the Titanic, which through this demo looks amazing!
This game and everything you see here is mainly being made by 3 people and on public funds. The full game will have every single room of the ship recreated and have a storyline that ends with the ship sinking in real-time. Support it if you can!
Will we get to play as Leo DiCaprio?
Only 3 people made this?. Wow!, these guys are good
What do you mean by real time?
Kyle Hill 2 hours, 40 minutes, with different things happening as they happened in 1912. Real time.
I really doubt those 3 guys will be able to make a ship sinking mechanic and add physics to every single static object that we have seen (which are all of them). i agree, i really hope every area of this gets the same amount of detail as the ship. hopefully the voice gets worked on, and for some reason i feel it'd be better in third person? i wanna see some good animation, like on the detroit become human level of animation. but one can only dream
@@JustinC3810 oh no. No 3rd person in 1 meter wide corridors
Escadre FLU u should be a developer cause ur right af
@@JustinC3810 it would be even worse in small 3rd class cabins, or in cramped crew spaces
It'd be really cool to take a stroll around the Titanic like this, even if only in VR.
Now add 1 evil ghost that you have to hide from and it'll be a decent game.
My grandfather was 15 when she sunk I love your video absaloutly. Fantastic
Coming from Northern Ireland and being a history professor I can tell you Belfast did NOT look like that in 1912! 😂
Because you were there? Lol.
Music?
“I count it lucky that I didn’t have the price to go abroad this year. If all of us who ‘just missed it’ had got aboard the Titanic she would have sunk at the Liverpool dock from the overload.”
Really well done and great graphics! Disappointed that inconveniently placed objects limit the scope of exploration though.
Ryuji yeah like a random box right at the doorway
thats because the game isnt finished yet.... eventually you will be able to explore every room in the entire ship
Love the refraction on the glasses/bottles. Not enough games have this.
The room info popup is too distracting. Put it in a book or something that you can optionally read and/or that is highlighted by a cursor
you can disable them in the demo.
11:04 when all the voices in your head starting to talk at the same time, hate when that happens.
Looks like a PS3 game until 8:45.
Agree
thank you
GalaxiVerse HD fuck off
THIS
I really couldn't say if this was still the animation or some material from the movie
You're giving the PS3 way too much credit. It doesn't even come close to these graphics.
Exterior looks like an fps from 10 years ago but skip ahead to 9:00 or so and interior of ship is impressive - nicely done!
how the background musci name?¿ My God, Its Amazing
Search titanic honor and glory music
The graphics inside are so cool that it seems like NaughtyDog’s work. amazing work! I love this ship
I can't take the narrator seriously
I don't think you're supposed to. Quite a lot of his monologues hint at him being a complete dope.
Its gheey
lol i'd rather not have the narration it hurts me
You can see an image pop out of nowhere at 11:30 - 11:32 I had just spent the past 6 or so minutes playing the video on .25 and pausing it every other frame. It turns out it was just this dudes desktop...
It pops about 6 times in the first two minutes alone, the popups are throughout the video for some reason.
OKIDOKI Jack Dawson Creek Song anuwanuweiiiii
different achievable endings sounds fine, but not a serial killer imo. what’s the point of adding a serial killer to a famous story about a boat sinking? if you’re going to make a game about a real event you shouldn’t have the focus be on a fictional concept that you inserted.
For once I never skipped ads. GREAT WORK!
So just out of curiosity, and I know this might sound dumb. But did they recreate the inside of the ship exactly how it was? I know maybe some parts were made up because of lack of information, perhaps.
+Michael .C They recreating it as closely as they could with the information available.
+RubberDuck I'm pretty sure Titanic's plans have been lost, all that's left are bits and pieces of her plans as well as Olympic/Britannic's plans.
+Half-Life Scientist
What makes you say that?
+Andrew 77 The fact that Titanic's plans can't be found online. Many websites will claim to have Titanic's plans but will actually show plans of Olympic. I think in a behind-the-scene bit for James Cameron's Titanic, someone mentioned the plans being lost.
Beautiful recreation and a wildly ambitious effort- good luck!
This demo is incredible. I dabble in game dev, but this is far beyond my skill level. Take my constructive criticism with a grain of salt:
*Photorealism is achieved momentarily, but it's not constant. The demo feels very whitewashed, there definitely needs to be more contrast. This should help to bring out more of the texturing
* There seems like a lack of reflections on the hull at the beginning, and it makes the ship look like clay.
It may be a small detail but it makes the ship feel a little more alive
* I urge you, the reader, or you, the developer (depending on who you are) to make a donation to the SS United States conservancy.
They smashed it, really smashed it.
I just hope that the actual game is brilliant bc the market is plagued by beautiful games with subpar content.
I believe James Cameron Will be the 1st to buy this game :D
Erm no, $50/£36 and you prebuy it
Robin, thou art not alone, there's a twin walketh nearby thee, talketh at the same time as thee
Song?
harland and wolf shipyard less than a mile from me but nearly empty now ..nice video :)
0/10 did not sink
Just kidding, that’s an incredible amount of work for 3 people, cheers!
Must feel awesome to have the Titanic all to yourself. :)
The Intro took too long and the quality of the camera movement destroyed all the hard work the texture artist put into this.
How crazy.. Some times I can't believe how far we have come. So weird to experience something we can only imagine in the past. But to make it real again? Jesus
I know I might sound dumb ... but how can I download fan made projects on unreal engine 4 and open them to play ?
Same whith me how can you get them
Pilzmann yea bro i know that, like after i download them and extract it so i just opened them like that ?? i tried the super Mario sunshine version but it didn’t work i don’t know how to open the game file
Please work on crowd and people details in the beginning. There was so much excitement and joy witnessing the greatest ship ever built departing on its first travel.
6:22 lol
in the final release, it'd be a nice option to turn the pop ups that display info on or off. It kinda takes away from the experience of walking in the Titanic, which through this demo looks amazing!
well it already has this feature.
This is a game..or what?
ROCKING GUY Game/Excruciatingly detailed model
Hii..jan..how are you?it going to work on ps4?and when will come
The all game?
Richard Twinn doesnt look like there is much to do in the game
+Jin
It's just a demo showcasing the model, the full game will have a story and a real-time sinking level
these graphics are freakin amazing! omfg! I feel as if im really there and if it was in VR holy hell your really there
NEVRDEAD It's available in VR
