    It is time for the newest instalment in that beloved cinematic automotive RUclips experience where we film practical cars that can be bought for less than £1,000 in a manner befitting of their inexpensive value! This may go horribly wrong...
    This time, it all goes a bit dark as we examine a 2005 MG ZT 120+ (yes, I know we did a 2004 MG ZT-T last year) discovering some nice blue backlighting for the instruments, incorrect alloy wheels and bootlid badge, the good old K Series four cylinder engine, a controversial facelift, a difficult to find boot release and generally little of any consequence at all! Nothing untoward, then...
    No Budget Reviews: 2004 MG ZT-T 190+ (Rover 75/MG ZT): • No Budget Reviews: 200...
    As an independent vehicle consultant, I take potential buyers through the whole car buying process from choosing a make and model to a vehicle handover and road tax. In addition to information on this service, I also have a selection of written and video reviews of cars that I have owned, hired, borrowed or have somehow come into my possession. Please use the Contact Me page on my website to get in touch, visit my Facebook page for latest updates and share this video if you like it! Thank you for watching.

    Another excellent review Sir, I do enjoy watching these 75/ZT videos. Funnily enough I have fitted the same aftermarket stereo to my 75 and to be fair it's not a bad stereo for the money.

      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 года назад +1

      Oh sir, this was filmed the same day as the Grand Vitara. For some reason, that did a lot better than the ZT. It isn't the best condition one of these I have driven, but it was still fun. The stereo could be a bit better than the original, which presumably came with a tape player.

    Currently enjoying a Tweed Jacket binge watch...considering how risky it looks to be a middle aged lone man, often parked up in a rural lay by sat in the back seat with a camera...hat off to you Mr Lloyd

      Well, Mr Seabrook, Mr Richardson and I all seem to park up in rural laybys with a camera to demonstrate rear seat room when we are on our own, it really seems to go with the territory. Yes, plenty of Tweed Jacket Reviews and No Budget Reviews for you to enjoy on the playlists!

    Good NBR Joseph, quite a handsome looking car and I actually really like those wheels. £900 seems like a very fair price for the car, Ibby shouldn't have too much trouble selling it at that price.

      I quite like the facelifted versions of the ZT and 75, although a number of people don't. Yes, £900 sounds like a very fair price indeed, it drives very nicely. Glad you enjoyed it, sir!

      No problem at all! It's been a while since I drove this. If you have an engine that is in decent condition, these can be very good if well looked after. There are many K-Series performance modifications available too.

      The plan is to watch the ZT 160 next and then the ZT 190. Then get back to the 2004 Suzuki Jimny that I cut short because I wanted to do the MGs.

    A remapped diesel coupled to the automatic is a fantastic car to drive, mine is pretty quick and very smooth.

      Ah, it's a long running joke that we don't talk about diesels on the channel, right from the first video two years ago...

    Ive just sold my year 2000 Cowley built Rover 75 1.8 non turbo. Certainly the slowest Rover Ive ever owned I think! haha
    To be honest, once I got it going it actually went well enough, especially in third gear it actually pulled quite nicely. However, pulling away from a stand still I found it lethargic and cumbersome - quite hard work in fact. The clutch being quite heavy and tired and the engine mounts being passed thier best didn't help. My 2002 Rover 45 1.6 is a delight pulling away and operating the clutch and gears in slow traffic in comparison. The R65 gearbox is nice and tight.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  4 года назад

      It was OK, actually, but the ZT 160 I drove last month was much, much better! Certainly Ibby priced it fairly. It handled really nicely... It doesn't feel anything like Jordan's ZT 190+, though! The clutch and gearchange were fine in this one. They were much better than the CityRover!
      I have a low mileage K Series powered 45 hatchback coming up for filming next week. It should be interesting to experience a proper R65 gearbox for once!

    Another MG Rover product, another good review! Rather good car I have to say! Used to see loads of these but not many any more. Do like the blue dashboard lighting, that is cool!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  4 года назад

      Yes, I can't even remember if that is standard any more, but I do like that blue dashboard lighting. Glad you enjoyed the video, sir, we are big fans of MG Rover in this household. The numbers are fast decreasing, sadly, but the best ones are being preserved by enthusiastic owners.

      @@lloydvehicleconsulting It's great that ones worth saving are being saved. Would be a sad day if they'd all gone to the scrapheap in the sky

      Yes, absolutely! Values are starting to rise now, though, so hopefully more will start to enter into preservation soon.

      Thanks very much indeed! It was a shame that the weather and lighting were so bad, but it was a surprisingly fun car to drive nevertheless. Glad you enjoyed it, another episode is coming up in a couple of days!

    120hp seems a bit underpowered for a fairly heavy MG.

      As the owner of a 45 V6, I am an absolute sucker for any of the MG Rover era, and I love the Rover 75 and MG ZT especially, hence why this is the second ZT I have reviewed. Seems like lots of people love the BMW diesels!

  • @mattsbeamer

    I do notice many things from BMWs. There is the ignition barrel which is BMW the screen displaying the milage is BMW and alot more. But dressed up differently

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  4 года назад

      Yes, it's a very similar key to the R50 Mini, and the ignition barrel is the same as an E46 3 Series. The milometer is definitely a BMW part as well.

    Its definitely not as sporty as it looks (1.8 ltr, 120 bhp) and i imagine underpowered? but its in good condition for a 15 year old car, shame about the squeaky wiper!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  4 года назад

      Well, sir, it is actually quite lively for a 1.8 with no turbo, but clearly it is a bit slower than the ZT-T 190 I drove last year. Yes, for the age and mileage, it is in nice condition, wiper blades aside. Ibby is getting those changed!
