Wife and I saw and met Dug and King’s X in 2014. Dug Ty and Jerry are great people and their band and projects keep the beacon of music alive! Glad to see Dug has his own signature product. 🙂
Bought this one a few months ago..love it! Perfect for late night practice with headphones! Just direct into soundcard xlr, but sounds great with real amp too. Tons of grit but no need for noise gate! Much nicer than my blends and distortion pedals I used for years. Awesome alternative to the super expensive (and heavy) Dug Tech 21 head! For a fraction of the price you can't go wrong.
I can a similar tone with my Ampeg SVT 200T. The preamp is bi-ampable. I use separate compression for highs/mids and for the lows. If you put overdrive on the highs and mids only the bottom is unaffected. The compressor is summed back to the power amp. This pedal is awesome to do that with out an amp.
omg...great. i saw kings x last summer in nürnberg germany. great show. dUg is such a beautifull person. and kings x is one of the top rock bands in busines for decades... may the groove be with you mitch and dUg...yeah.
It's funny Dug mentions those old Traynors. I remember speaking with he and his bass tech after a show in Nashville back in about the early 2000's. Myself as well as many others were speaking to them both about Dug's tone, and he and his tech both mentioned how they were always on the lookout for those Traynor heads at pawn shops when they were on tour.
"....Not a lot of bands anymore that have bass players who literally play basslines." Well said. Heck, there's not a lot of bands anymore who even have bassists at all it seems.
Hello, Marijan! This is not battery operated, but it does ship with the power supply. The XLR output does not have any extra features or filtering that the main unbalanced output has. Thanks for the interest! Kevin Spunde, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1732

dUg is the best. Pedal sounds great too
Best bass tone in Rock music.
Dug might very well be one of the coolest MF’s that’s ever walked
Impressive... that gear is:) ...not to mention the musical wisdom:)

The mighty Kings X : )
Anyone compare this to a SansAmp BDDI? Curious to see if people prefer this to the SansAmp?
Close your eyes and just float along...... :)
damn, impressive earthquake low!!
The distortion sounds beatiful not like in every bass pedal , boutique pedals include , that have an undefined grain !!
1) Is it battery operated?
2) Does direct xlr have any sort of filtering/IR response emulation on it?

Many user reviews mention the XLR has an 4x12 emulation,
but there is no official mention of this feature.
A little strange.
@@marijandesin8226Tech21 said that there’s not necessarily a cab sim, but the XLR out is slightly darker voiced to get rid of harshness
