Can you do one showing the air filter replacement. This looks like the model I have.

Glad to see understanding there's a big difference between small engine oils and automotive oils because of emissions standards I use Amsoil or Briggs and Stratton 5w30 in my Generac both are 100% synthetic with a ZDDP of right around 1300 ppm oils like Mobil 1 are not 100% synthetic and have ZDDP level of around 800 ppm that's a big deal with high stress high heat air cooled engines they have really high bearing loads it also handles continuous RPMs very well I also use 15w50 Amsoil small engine oil in Exmark mower EFI Kohler engine its a cold climate where I'm at so I use 5w30 with my Generac my old unit I used 10w30 but I have a 10 year warranty and don't want any trouble with warranty it was built in August of last year the manual doesn't even give an option anymore for oil its 5w30 synthetic nothing else

Thanks for a great video! Maybe you could do one on changing the air filter?

Hello! I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to post this video on this older generator- same one as mine.
If you have a chance, could you kindly post the brand of the oil filter you use as well. I just paid a lot for General original “ stuff” and if changing the oils is as easy as you posted, I would like to do it every year with similar good stuff that other people use.
    Again. Ty so much.

Thank you for the kind remarks and happy to know the video was helpful. The filter is a Prime Guard, part # POF4476. We typically buy our stuff thru eBay and these filters came as a 6-pack and very cost effective. Also highly recommend using a high quality synthetic oil preferably 5w30. Let us know if you have any other questions and hoping you’ll subscribe. Take care.

@@Stromzilla Sorry to bother you again- so I finished changing, the oil, air filter and spark plug and the test cycle worked, no red lights and all is good but at night I noticed the blinking green light now blinks yellow- any idea what it could mean? Some of the manuals I checked stated it’s a maintenance interval- if so, how do I reset it?
It all starts up fine but just don’t get it.
Take care and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Check to be sure your switch is set to Auto. Then press the button (Set Exercise) to start the engine which will also set the time to auto-start in 7 days. The engine should auto-shutdown in 10 minutes and the green light should stay on showing the system is good to go. Let me know if you’ve gone thru this process and whether or not the green light is on.

@@Stromzilla My apologies for confusion- on the control panel the light is green. However, if you face the generator on the right side (side where the air filter is) you can see near the bottom a green light (unit is closed)... normally it should be green- however mine is now blinking yellow... even after going through the test exercise... agsin the control panel is green and no warning lights are illuminated but there is this other light externsllly through the right side you can see- normally it is green but now it’s blinking yellow- wish I could upload a video for you... lol.
      Make sense?

Not familiar with the light you’re referring to so will need to investigate further.

My gererac generator is like the one you did the oil change on, an 8kw it came with my house. The manual shows an air filter so I was hoping you could do a video on changing that too @@Stromzilla
